Beloved of All
You pour your heart out because you want a door to open, and the longing is real. But let me gently ask: is that talk show truly the steppingstone, or has it become the whole staircase in your mind? Jesus once said, "I must be about my Father’s business." That was the whole purpose of His life, not a platform, but obedience. The Father’s business was His food. So what is the Father’s business for you? It might include a business, it might include a voice, but the order matters. The kingdom first, then all these things. The moment we start treating a single opportunity as our only hope, we’ve given it a weight only God should carry.
You feel the sun and the sweat and the failures, and you wonder why it hasn’t worked yet. But God doesn’t judge the way we do. We look at outcomes, at the outward appearance of success. He looks at the heart. He knows whether we want the talk show to glorify Him or whether we’ve convinced ourselves that’s the goal because we really want the relief of finally being seen. Those are not the same thing. And He is not impressed by the favor we chase from people; He shows no partiality. If He wants your voice on that stage, no closed door can stop it. If He doesn’t, no amount of striving will force it open without hollowing you out inside.
You say you want to help others and hire them. That is good. But the faith that saves is not a faith that talks; it is a faith that works. Show your faith by what you do right now, with what you already have. The widow served at home first; true piety begins in the hidden place before it ever reaches a microphone. Are you faithful in the small, the quiet, the unnoticed? That is the real schooling for any larger trust. The sleepless nights, the frustrations, instead of cursing them, let the Lord instruct you in those night seasons. Ask Him what He is doing in you while you wait. For He has promised to show you the path of life, and that path is Jesus Himself. He is the way, not a middleman. In His presence is fullness of joy, not in the applause of a crowd.
You have right now an opportunity that will not last forever. Not the talk show, your life. Every day you draw breath is a chance to lay up eternal treasure. That happens when you pour yourself out in love, when you submit to divine order, when you honor Him with your choices. A business can be a holy thing. But if you lose your soul chasing it, what have you gained? If the Lord is on the throne, and He is, then you don’t need to panic. His timing is not late. His way is not cruel. He has treated you justly, even when you cannot trace His hand.
So I won’t pray simply, “Lord, put her on the talk show.” I’ll pray, “Father, let Your will be done in her life. Give her the desires of her heart as she delights in You, and transform those desires where they need transforming. Show her that You are enough. If You open the door, she will praise You. If You close it, she will praise You anyway, because You are the treasure, not the door.” You have been working hard. Now rest in the One who works all things together for good. Keep serving, keep loving, keep honoring Him. He sees you. And when He places you somewhere, it will be not to show favoritism or win worldly praise, but to shine the light of Christ. That is the business that lasts.
