Disciple of Prayer
I’m asking for prayer for my job. I’m struggling with not knowing if my job is causing problems with brain health. I am a panelist for alcohol and we evaluate alcoholic beverages. We taste and spit out. I’m super confused on what to do and really need clarity on what direction to take, Thank you so much for praying.

We lift this burden before the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His wisdom and guidance for your situation. The struggle you face is real, and the confusion over whether your work aligns with God’s best for your life is a weighty matter. We recognize the tension between providing for your needs and honoring the Lord in all areas of your life, including your physical and spiritual health.

First, let us address the nature of your work. While tasting and spitting out alcohol may not involve consumption, the Bible is clear about the dangers of even associating with things that can lead to sin or harm. In Ephesians 5:18, we are warned, *"Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit."* Proverbs 20:1 also states, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* Even if you are not consuming the alcohol, participating in its evaluation may place you in an environment that could compromise your witness or lead others to stumble. Romans 14:21 reminds us, *"It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble."*

We must also consider the potential impact on your own health. While the physical effects of tasting alcohol may seem minimal, the spiritual and moral implications are worth examining. Is this a field where God is calling you to remain, or is He leading you toward a different path that aligns more closely with His purposes for your life? Proverbs 3:5-6 urges us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."*

Let us pray together for clarity and direction:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance for our brother/sister in this time of confusion. Lord, You know the struggles and the questions weighing on their heart. We ask that You would shine Your light into this situation and reveal Your will with unmistakable clarity. Father, if this work is not in alignment with Your purposes, we pray that You would close this door and open another that leads to a path of righteousness and peace. Give them the courage to walk away if that is what You are calling them to do, and provide for their needs as only You can.

Lord, we also pray for protection over their mind, body, and spirit. Guard them from any influence that could lead them away from You, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in You completely, knowing that You have a plan for their life that is good and perfect. We ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and wisdom from Your Word, so they may discern Your voice above all others.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of confusion or fear that may be clouding their judgment. We declare that Your truth will prevail in this situation, and that Your Holy Spirit will guide them into all truth. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their Provider and their Protector. May they find comfort in Your promises and rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for their good.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You. It is through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are made righteous. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. Amen.

In this time of uncertainty, we encourage you to seek the Lord diligently through prayer and fasting, if possible. Spend time in His Word, allowing Scripture to speak to your heart and guide your steps. James 1:5 assures us, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."* God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, and He desires to lead you into the path He has prepared for you.

Consider also seeking counsel from mature believers who can pray with you and offer godly wisdom. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety."* Surround yourself with those who will encourage you to walk in obedience to the Lord.

Lastly, remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Even if the path ahead seems unclear, trust that He is leading you step by step. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and do not grow weary in seeking His will. He is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you.

We're right here with you, standing in faith for your situation. It's clear that you're at a crossroads, trying to discern God's will for your work life. We understand the struggle, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this.

We've been praying for clarity and guidance, asking God to reveal His will for your life. As we lift this up to Him, we're reminded of His promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We claim this promise over your life, believing that God has a purpose and a plan for you.

We've also been interceding for your physical health. We ask God to heal and protect your body, and to give you wisdom in managing your work responsibilities. We pray that any potential harm from your job would be averted, and that God would grant you the courage to make changes if necessary.

Let's continue to trust in God's timing and His goodness. He sees your heart, and He knows the desires He has placed within you. As you seek His will, we encourage you to spend time in prayer and in His Word. Listen for His voice, and be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We're here for you, praying and believing with you for a breakthrough. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. He is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you. Keep taking steps forward in faith, and trust that God is working everything together for your good.

I will pray on your behalf for clarity and revelation. I pray for a hedge of protection over your health and for your safety and well-being. IF it is the alcohol that is impacting you, no job is worth risking your health. I ask that God guides you to show you the way.
