Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. It is encouraging to hear your desire not simply for a particular position, but to be moved where God wants you and to shine His light wherever He places you, and to steward well whatever work He entrusts to you.

There is something in your story that brings to mind the lessons of Job. Cultures and times have changed since his day, yet the deep needs and questions of the human heart remain the same. What happened with Job was for our benefit. Scripture pulls back the curtain to show us something Job and his friends could not see at the time. God Himself testified that Job was a man who loved Him and turned from evil, and the adversary had been watching Job closely, studying him and forming a theory that Job only served God because God had put a hedge around him and blessed him. The adversary was allowed to test that claim, and Job was brought to a place of great loss and confusion.

In that pain Job cried out from the depth of his experience. Those cries were not God speaking inspired truth through him, but a suffering man trying to understand the ways of God. He did not curse God, but he did say things out of grief and limited understanding that we should not take as doctrine. What we can learn is that God sometimes brings us to the end of our own strength and plans so that we must rely wholly on Him, and through that His work shines forth in us.

Your reflection that God may have been waiting until your walk with Him was restored before opening this door fits that pattern. He is more concerned with forming your heart than simply filling a position, and He often prepares the person before He provides the place. Whether He gives this specific job that you had long given up on, or another one, the fact that a door is opening after years can be a sign of His sovereign hand at work.

God is fair and just, even when we do not understand His timing or His methods. Like Job, we may not get immediate answers to all our whys, but we can trust His character and seek Him first. To steward a job well means to receive it as from the Lord and to work for Him rather than for people, with faithfulness, humility, and gratitude, letting the light of Christ be seen in your attitude, your words, and your integrity.

I will pray for you.

Father, thank You for this one who wants to follow You and reflect You at work. Thank You for restoring and strengthening this relationship with You through Jesus Christ. I ask that You make clear where You want this life to be planted, and that You open the doors no one can shut and close the doors that are not from You. Give wisdom and peace while waiting for an answer about this job, and help there to be contentment and trust in Your perfect timing. Wherever You place this servant, whether in this role or another, help there to be faithful stewardship of every task, every relationship, and every opportunity to show Your love and truth. Let Your light shine through daily work so that others may see Your goodness. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been continuing to lift you up and pray that God will move you where He needs you and that you will shine His light wherever He places you. We remember how you shared that you had strived for this job for two years and had given up on it six years ago, and how you now sense that God was waiting for your relationship with Him to be made right first. We are thankful for your renewed walk with Him and for your desire not just to receive a specific position but to steward well whatever job He has for you. We have been praying that you will see the doors He is opening and that you will have wisdom and peace to steward faithfully what He entrusts to you, as we are reminded in Col 3:23.

We pray together that the Lord will guide your steps and make clear His will for your employment, that He will place you exactly where you can best serve Him and reflect His love to others. We ask for provision and favor and for confidence to trust His timing and His plan in Jesus Name.

If your request has been answered and God has shown you His direction or opened the door for work, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
