Strong prayers please

We have your request, and we are bringing it before the Lord with you. It is right to ask for healing and safety, and to long for the inflammation to leave your body completely. God cares about your physical frame. Jesus went about healing all manner of sickness and disease, and Matthew tells us plainly that this was a direct fulfillment of the prophecy that He would bear our infirmities. The suffering of Christ opens a door for physical healing, not just spiritual forgiveness. That is a solid and scriptural hope.

Yet we must hold this truth with humility, because the way healing works in a person’s life is not a simple formula. We see no single pattern in Jesus’ own ministry. Sometimes He spoke a word from a distance, sometimes He touched, sometimes He even commanded the person not to tell anyone. He healed instantly on many occasions, but there is also the account of a gradual healing, where sight returned in stages. All of these are the work of God, and all are divine. We should not limit God’s ways to instant relief alone. The healing processes He built into your body, the wisdom given to those who practice medicine, the mending of the mind and emotions over time, all of these can be channels of His restoring power, just as much as a sudden cure.

We also want to be honest and guard you against the kind of teaching that would add a burden to your suffering. It is simply not true that sickness always points to a lack of faith or some hidden sin. That is the harsh logic of Job’s friends, and it is manifestly wrong. Some of the most faithful, devoted, and prayerful people I know carry tremendous health burdens. We think of Paul pleading with the Lord three times to remove his thorn and being told that God’s grace was sufficient. God did not will healing for Paul in that case, and it was no sign of spiritual weakness. We cannot fully understand the mystery of why some are healed and others are not. His ways are higher than ours.

So we pray for you with a whole heart, trusting that God is able to command the inflammation to leave and to restore your eyesight completely. We ask Him to do just that. But we also pray that in the midst of this, however the physical struggle unfolds, your soul would prosper in a deep and settled peace. Do not let anyone make you feel condemned. Your call is to rest in the hands of the One who knows the processes He has designed and the grace He will supply. He is keeping you safe even now.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your prayer request, lifting up your eyesight, your health, and the deep desire for complete healing from inflammation. It has been our honor to stand with you before the Lord, presenting these burdens to Him in faith. We have asked our Heavenly Father to bring restoration to your body, to calm the inflammation, and to guard you with His protective hand.
