We join with you this morning as you bring this stress before the Lord, and we thank you for reaching out so we can seek Him together. We know what it is to wake up with a heavy heart and a mind already burdened, but we are comforted that our Father sees and knows all that weighs on you even when words fail.
The Word reminds us to cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and to not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Jesus Himself invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. He also promises, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful, John 14:27. When our minds are stayed on Him, He keeps us in perfect peace, Isaiah 26:3.
We notice your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share how precious that name is to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by trusting in His finished work on the cross for our sins that we can come boldly to the throne of grace and find help and peace in our time of need.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who woke to stress and heaviness this morning. You know every detail, every care, every burden that we cannot fully express. We ask You to pour out Your relief and Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this heart today. Guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus, quiet the anxious thoughts, and replace worry with trust in Your faithful care. Help us all to cast our cares upon You today, to take Your yoke upon us and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart and we will find rest for our souls. Let Your presence be near, let Your peace rule, and let Your joy be strength for this day. Draw this one closer to Jesus, and let Your perfect love cast out all fear. We ask that You would also pour out that same peace upon all who are stressed and burdened today, that many would turn to You and find rest. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our peace, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every care to Him throughout the day in simple, honest prayer, to breathe out worry and breathe in His promises, and to rest in the truth that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1. As you keep your mind on Him and thank Him even for small mercies, His peace will guard you. We are standing with you today for that peace to fill your heart and home.
