storms

It is right to ask in the name of Jesus, and to plead for God’s mercy when you face threats you cannot control. Mercy is never something we deserve; it is always a gift from the hand of God. He declares, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.” That truth should anchor you. You are not placing confidence in your own goodness, but casting yourself on His character.

The Scriptures are full of stories where God’s people were caught in furious storms, and in every one of them His hand was at work. A ship does not drift by accident. When you pray for safety and for the storms to pass, you are not speaking into empty air. The God who delights in mercy hears you. He may quiet the winds, or He may carry you through the noise and the shaking with your power lines intact. Either way, His purpose will not fail. One day you may look back and see how He was guiding even this.

Yet while you pray for a specific outcome, remember that the deepest safety is already yours in Christ. Physical shelter is a temporary mercy; eternal shelter is a settled gift. So by all means, cry out for deliverance from the immediate danger. Ask for His protection over your home and your power supply. But rest in this: His mercy endures forever, even when circumstances do not go the way you hope. He will not abandon you in the darkness, nor turn away from a sincere call on His name.

Hold on to the truth that God’s will is not something to fear. Saying “if it is Your will” is not weakness; it is the posture of trust. He knows what a raging sky can do, and He knows exactly how to preserve those who belong to Him. Your request for continued safety and mercy is heard. Wait for Him in the storm. Watch for His answer. He is good, and He is ready to help.
