Stolen money

Kensem

Beloved of All
An amount was stolen from ###'s bank account. We don't yet know how they gained access to her bank card details. Please pray for restoration and justice. Pray that the authorities intervene and that God gives them wisdom on how to deal with this issue and find the robber. In Jesus' name, amen!

Update
The police suspended the case for five years. Please pray that they will change their minds and resolve the issue.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation of stolen money and the injustice that has followed. The theft of what was rightfully earned is a violation of God’s commandment: "You shall not steal" (Exodus 20:15 WEB). We stand on the promise that the Lord is a God of justice, who sees every wrong and will not let it go unanswered. "The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed" (Psalm 103:6 WEB). We pray for restoration, not just of the financial loss, but of peace, security, and trust that has been shaken.

Father, we ask You to move mightily in this situation. Though the authorities have suspended the case, we know that nothing is impossible for You. "With God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26 WEB). We pray that You soften the hearts of those in charge, that they would reconsider and pursue justice with diligence. Give them wisdom to uncover the truth, discernment to follow the evidence, and courage to act rightly. Let this thief be exposed, not only for the sake of restitution but so that they may be held accountable and perhaps led to repentance.

We also pray for ###, that You would be her strong tower in this time of distress. Financial loss can bring fear and anxiety, but You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB), and let her experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways. Guard her heart from bitterness or a desire for vengeance, for vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19 WEB). Instead, fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of theft and deception that has operated in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against ### shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We ask that You would turn this evil for good, using it to draw her closer to You and to strengthen her faith. Let her testimony be one of Your provision and justice, so that others may see Your hand at work.

We also take this moment to remind all who read this that our security is not in earthly wealth, which can be stolen or lost, but in Christ Jesus. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven" (Matthew 6:19-20 WEB). Let us seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33 WEB).

Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world (John 16:33 WEB). It is only through His name that we have access to You, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed. We pray that ### would know the depth of Your love for her, that she would walk in the victory that Christ has already won, and that justice would prevail according to Your perfect will. Amen.

We’re so sorry this has dragged on, and that the very people you hoped would pursue justice have instead put it on a shelf for five years. That kind of delay can feel like a second wound, reopening the same sense of violation all over again. What was taken from you matters, and the frustration of having the case suspended is completely understandable.

Sometimes the next right step is simply refusing to let a closed file be the last word. That might mean going back to your bank one more time, not just to the front-line staff, but asking for a manager or even their security and fraud department, to review whether there are newer protections or video records, or if they can flag the account for any future attempts. Some people also find it helpful to talk with a financial counselor who understands fraud recovery; they can’t reverse what happened, but they can help you lock things down tighter and sometimes know what pressure points remain with law enforcement. We’d be glad to help you find someone nearby if that would be useful.

What we can do right now is lift this to the One who sees what hidden records and stalled investigations never will. He doesn’t forget, and he isn’t indifferent when someone has been wronged.

Lord Jesus, you know the details no human investigator has uncovered. We ask you to shift this situation, move a decision-maker in law enforcement to reopen the case, give the bank fresh eyes to spot what was missed, and clear the path toward whatever recovery is possible. For our friend who has been waiting, guard against discouragement and replace the ache of injustice with a steady confidence that nothing escapes your sight. Fill in every gap this theft created, and grant real peace while we wait on you. Amen.

How quick we are to cry for justice when it is our money that vanishes, yet how slow to see the justice we deserve when the Lord’s own eye observes our inward parts. This loss of your substance is a bitter trial, and the delay of the authorities only sharpens the sting. When the police set the case aside for five years, it seems the way of human wisdom runs down a blind alley. Yet the Lord’s wisdom is a compass that never fails, though we understand it not. There is not much more wisdom in man’s judgment of these events than in a fly’s judgment of an elephant. He has permitted this loss, and He knows the thief who skulks in the shadows. The eye that sees every secret thing is not shut.

I charge you, do not let this trial drive you to rail at God’s justice. No convinced sinner ever does that. Instead, let it search your own heart. You ask for the robber to be found, but where shall true wisdom be found? The price of wisdom is above rubies, and it begins when we confess we have no money of merit to bring. He that has no money, that is your true condition before God, must come and buy wine and milk without price. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. That cleansing springs from the blood of the Lamb, not from the recovery of stolen coins.

Yet there is a restoration sweeter than the return of silver. See Peter, who fell so low, yet the Lord turned and looked upon him. That look severed him from the crowd. What tender wisdom! The Lord had prayed for him, and the sure word of Christ brought him back. This very trial may be such a look to you. The case is suspended, but your hope need not be. The Lord’s wisdom may grant Satan’s desire in the loss, yet in the very act overthrow his evil power. You will be turned again to your first hope, and then you shall strengthen your brethren by your testimony. I pray you never break a bone in your faith, but if through this you have wandered, do not despair. He that has no money, come. You cannot buy back your own peace or your lost funds, but Christ bids you buy without your own resources. The way of the wise is to trust in Him.

Hold fast, then, to the justice of God. Man’s justice may sleep for five years, but the Most High is not a man that He should delay when He has purposed. At the cross, justice was satisfied; it were injustice if it should ask for more. And if He who paid your debt now brings you through this purging, shall He not also, in His time, make all things right? Wait upon Him. He can move the hearts of those officers as easily as He turned Peter from the fire to go out and weep. In the meantime, come to the waters; you have no money, so come, buy, and eat. Your true restoration is already secured by the intercession of the Son, and that cannot be suspended.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The money taken from you is not your loss, but the thief's. For what has he stolen? Clay cast out from the yard, mere dust not worthy of a second glance. Your true house is heaven, and your lasting treasure remains there untouched. Why then disturb your soul over such trifles? The one who commits this injustice does not injure you, but himself first; he carries away his own ruin, while you, if you bear it with peace, heap up for yourself a reward that no robber can take.

Do not let your heart cling to the suspended case, as though earthly authorities were your only hope. The wisdom of this world God has made foolish, and often He permits their delays to teach us something greater. What is justice on earth but a shadow? Turn your eyes instead to that court where the Judge knows all secrets, even the thief whom no police can find. Entrust the matter to Him, and desire more to be freed from anger than to see money restored. For what is restoration? If you gain back a little clay yet lose your heavenly crown, what profit is that?

The kingdom is not bought with money but with the purpose of the heart. The widow's two mites, given with a whole soul, outweighed ten thousand talents grudgingly offered. So now, offer up this loss with readiness; despise the clay, and you purchase true riches. Let the robber go, and you become like Him who said, "Father, forgive them." This is the wisdom hidden from the proud, but revealed to those who count the cross as wisdom. God's long-suffering in this trial is not wrath delayed but a call to store up salvation. Forgive, and your restoration is already complete in the place where moth and thief cannot enter.

It is deeply troubling when someone reaches into your life and takes what does not belong to them. The violation stirs a real ache, and the heart cries out for restoration and justice. What has happened traces back to that root we know so well: the love of money. It is not the money itself that is evil, but the greedy desire that drives a person to harm another. Behind the theft, behind the drugs on the street, behind so much of the sorrow in this world, you will find the same empty, grasping hunger. That is the true offense.

When the authorities close a case and hope seems deferred, it is easy to feel forgotten. But remember, human systems are always imperfect. The justice we long for is rarely fully delivered in a courtroom. Real justice belongs to the Lord. He sees what the investigators cannot see. He knows the thief who remains hidden. And He is able to use even this delay, even this loss, to accomplish something deeper than a mere reimbursement of funds.

Money carries a strange power. It can feel like the answer to every problem, yet it so often brings emptiness and, as Scripture warns, pierces the heart with many sorrows when it becomes a treasure in itself. The enemy would love for you to fix your eyes entirely on the stolen amount. But the greater issue is the condition of your heart in the midst of the loss. Do not let the love of money, or the fear of lacking it, creep in and rob you of peace. The goal is not to become a slave to what was taken, nor to grow bitter, but to use this trial to lay hold of something eternal.

There is a principle we see in the early church: they gave themselves first to God. It is not primarily about how much money you lose or keep; it is about whom you trust. The question is not, “How much of my money can I recover?” but rather, “How much of my trust am I placing in the One who owns everything?” When you see your resources as belonging ultimately to Him, you can endure the temporary injustice. He is far more concerned with securing your soul than protecting your portfolio.

We will continue to pray that the hearts of the police are stirred and that the case is resolved. Pray that the thief would be found, for that is a righteous request. But even if the money is never seen again, God’s provision is not limited by a thief’s cunning or a system’s suspension. He can restore in ways that go beyond a bank balance. May the love of money be exposed for the hollow destroyer it is, and may your confidence rest in the God who sees all things and will set every wrong right in His perfect time.
