We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation of stolen money to our Heavenly Father. The Lord sees all things and knows the details of this injustice even before we speak them. We declare that He is Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider, and we trust Him to restore what has been taken.
The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 6:30-31, "Men don’t despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry; but if he is found, he shall restore seven times. He shall give all the wealth of his house." While we do not condone theft under any circumstances, we recognize that God’s justice is perfect, and He will bring about restoration in His way and time. We also pray that the thief’s heart would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, leading them to repentance and restitution.
Father, we ask that You grant wisdom to the authorities handling this case. Give them discernment to uncover the truth and the diligence to pursue justice. We pray that the suspension of this case would not stand, let there be a change of heart in those responsible for investigating, and may they reopen and resolve this matter swiftly. Your Word says in Psalm 82:3-4, "Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked." We stand on this promise, believing that You will act on behalf of the oppressed.
We also pray for peace and trust in Your provision for during this time. Financial loss can bring great anxiety, but we declare that God is her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May she rest in the assurance that You are her defender and that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, discouragement, or hopelessness that may try to take root in her heart. Instead, fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen her faith to believe that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28), even in this difficult circumstance.
We also lift up the thief before You. If they do not know You, Lord, we pray that they would come to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. If they are a believer who has fallen into sin, we ask that You would restore them and lead them to make amends. Your Word says in Ezekiel 18:23, "Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Yahweh; and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?" We pray for their soul, that they would turn from this sin and seek Your forgiveness.
In all of this, we declare that justice belongs to You, O Lord, and we trust You to bring it to pass. We pray for restoration, whether through the return of the stolen funds, divine provision, or another means that You see fit. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may experience Your faithfulness in a tangible way.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.
