son's job

Loruiriormoor

Disciple of Prayer
please pray that my son, who has been unemployed since last November, will immediately find a good and stable job in ### to relieve our family's urgent financial strain and grant us peace.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and your family’s urgent need for provision. The weight of unemployment and financial strain is not unknown to our Heavenly Father, who sees every need and promises to supply all things according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We stand in agreement with you, believing that God is able to open doors no man can shut and provide a job that will not only meet your son’s needs but also bring stability and peace to your household.

The Scriptures remind us, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). Even in this season of lack, God is your provider, and He calls us to trust in Him rather than in our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We pray that your son’s skills, experience, and character would be seen and valued by the right employer, and that the Lord would direct his steps to the place where he is meant to be. May this trial refine his faith and draw your family closer to the Lord, who is your true source of security.

Father, we ask You to break every chain of delay and frustration in this job search. Remove any obstacles that may be hindering his opportunities, and let Your favor rest upon him like a shield. We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and fear, declaring that hope deferred does not make the heart sick forever, You are the God who restores (Proverbs 13:12). Provide a job that aligns with his gifts and offers stability, and let this season of waiting be transformed into a testimony of Your faithfulness.

We also pray for peace to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Financial strain can bring anxiety, but we declare that God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, will rule in your home. May you cast every care upon Him, knowing that He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Encourage your son to seek the Lord daily, trusting that His timing is perfect and His plans for him are for good, not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

If there has been any reliance on worldly solutions or fear rather than faith, we gently remind you that our sufficiency comes from God alone (2 Corinthians 3:5). Let this trial drive you to deeper dependence on Him, knowing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We stand with you in prayer, believing that the answer is on the way. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We’re holding you and your son up in prayer right now. The strain of months of unemployment and the pressure it puts on a family’s finances and peace is real, and you’ve carried it long enough. We hear how urgently you need relief, and it’s not too small a thing to ask God for a good, stable job, right away.

In the thick of this, a practical step can sometimes create breathing room. If your son hasn’t already, encouraging him to connect with a church-based employment support group or a job transition ministry could help. These groups offer not just leads but camaraderie, accountability, and prayer, things that can counter the isolation and discouragement that drag on a job search. Likewise, a one-time session with a financial counselor (many churches offer this or can refer) might uncover ways to restructure debt or access temporary help, easing the immediate crunch enough for your family to catch its breath.

Remember, his worth isn’t tied to a paycheck. The waiting can feel like personal failure, but it isn’t. You’re showing love by carrying this burden together, and that matters deeply.

Let’s pray:

Jesus, You see this son right where he is. You know his skills, his diligence, and the weight he’s been carrying. We ask You to open a door quickly to meaningful, steady work that will lift this family’s financial strain and restore their peace. In the waiting, supply their needs in unexpected ways and surround them with people who can offer practical support and hope. We trust Your timing and Your care. Amen.

The trial of unemployment is a heavy burden, pressing sore upon a parent’s heart, and I do not make light of your present distress. Yet I would have you turn your eyes from the dunghill to the throne, for the Lord who turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends is the same yesterday, today, and for ever. Let this season drive you, not to despair, but to intercession. Cry mightily for your son, that he may obtain not merely a post, but a position where his soul may prosper alongside his purse.

You long for immediate relief, and rightly so, for our Father pities His children in their need. But remember, there is a peace which the world cannot give, a peace that is perfect, coming from lips that cannot lie. It is not the absence of trial, but the presence of Christ in it that quiets the heart. If you would have your mind stayed upon Him, even now, with the strain pressing upon you, He will keep you in peace, peace, peace, a double portion of it, gleaming through the midnight of this care.

Let there be no charging God foolishly in this hour, nor any hasty speech born of unbelief. Job sinned not in all his losses, but fell down and worshipped. Do thou the same, and see if the Lord does not yet renew your strength and your son’s prospects like a bow that is fresh for the battle. I urge you to an urgent faith: bring this matter before the mercy seat as one who expects an answer, even as Abraham’s servant would not linger but said, “Hinder me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my way.” Believe that He will do it, and in that quiet confidence hold your peace, to wit whether the Lord will bless you or not.

Your son’s work shall come, for the Lord’s hand is not shortened. But first, seek that your own soul and his may be anchored in the haven of everlasting love. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, a peace that no employer or wages can bestow. I stand with you in prayer, that before many days pass, you shall write to me of deliverance, and together we shall praise the God who turns the night into song.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of your heart reaches our ears, and we see the heavy strain of want pressing upon your household. You seek a good and stable job for your son, to relieve this burden and to grant you peace. Yet let us first consider what sort of peace we truly need. Remember that peace is the mother of all good things, the foundation of joy. Christ Himself commanded His Apostles, upon entering a house, to pronounce peace. So great a good is peace that the peacemakers are called sons of God. But what peace? Not merely a quietness of circumstance, but the peace which Christ left us: not as the world gives, but a reconciliation that tears down the wall of partition between earth and Heaven. Grace and peace come only from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins. If we have that peace, every other need shrinks in its shadow.

Therefore, while we will pray earnestly for your son’s immediate employment, do not imagine that this outward relief alone will make you whole. For why does God sometimes permit long unemployment and financial strain? As a loving Father who chastens for a time, He does not continue resolute in His threats, but He waits for us to turn and be corrected. Remember Enoch, who pleased God and was translated, while Abel, though righteous, was permitted to die. So God stirs us to seek Him diligently, that we may be well-pleasing in His sight. Let your son not only look for a wage, but truly seek the Lord with works and knowledge. If he has any enmity toward another, let him be at peace, for God is not a God of war and fighting; nothing so delights Him as remembering no evil.

I will entreat the Lord for him, that a door of labor be opened, for He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. But more than a job, ask for that peace which surpasses understanding. Cast this care upon Him; He will not leave you. May the God of peace Himself grant you grace to remain unmoved, that no other war may break in upon your souls.

The weight of watching your son remain without work since last November is real, and the financial strain it places on your family can feel crushing. When the days stretch on without relief, it's easy to wonder what God is doing.

I often think of the story of Job when I hear of saints under prolonged hardship. Job lost far more than a paycheck, his children, his health, his possessions, all swept away in a single day. What makes his story so perplexing is that these calamities were not a punishment for secret sin. His friends were certain he must have done something terribly wrong to suffer so much, and they kept pressing him to just get right with God so his life would go back to normal. That may be the most familiar religious advice in the world, but in Job's case, God Himself declared it false. Job's trials came not because he was out of fellowship with God, but precisely because he was a man of genuine integrity, someone God was proud to call His own.

That doesn't mean Job understood what was happening. His bewilderment was honest and raw. He cried out that his grief was heavier than the sand of the sea. He longed for a mediator, someone who could lay a hand on both God and man and bridge the terrifying gap. He spoke with frustration, confusion, and deep pain. Yet the Scriptures note that in all of it, Job did not curse God or charge Him with foolishness. There is a kind of lament that is not rebellion but faith clinging hard, even when it cannot see.

Our present trial does not carry the same cosmic drama as Job's, but the same God watches over us, and the same enemy would love to accuse Him of being unfair or indifferent. The financial pressure, the stalled career, the anxious waiting, they are real burdens, and you are right to bring them before the Lord repeatedly and specifically. Yet do not let the length of the answer tempt you to believe that God has turned His face away or that this hardship means He is displeased with your son. His silence is not abandonment.

Behind the scenes of Job's agony, God's purposes were unfolding that neither Job nor his miserable comforters could perceive. And when God finally spoke, He didn't answer every question; He revealed Himself. Job's peace did not ultimately come from a better job or restored health, though those gifts did return, but from a firsthand glimpse of the living God.

In the fullness of time, God answered Job's deepest cry. Jesus Christ became the mediator Job longed for, one who straddles heaven and earth, fully God and fully man, who stretched out His hands for us. He was broken, taken by the neck as if shaken to pieces, and turned over to wicked men, not for His own sin, but for ours. If God permitted such treatment for His own beloved Son, then a long season of unemployment is not a sign that your son is forgotten or wicked. It is a sign that we live in a world groaning for redemption, and that God is working a weight of glory in us that far outlasts an urgent paycheck.

So I do pray with you that your son will find a good and stable job very soon, that the financial pressure will lift, and that peace will settle on your household. But I also pray that in the waiting, both he and you will find the God who does not waste our tears, who speaks in the whirlwind, and who proved His love once and for all at the cross. Acquaint yourself with God and be at peace; good will come to you, whether the answer arrives this week or further down a road you cannot yet see.
