We join with you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace, and we thank you for sharing this heavy burden that you have carried alongside him for ### years. To watch a beloved child battle depression for so long brings a deep ache and weariness, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer and compassion.

The Lord sees your son's long suffering and He is not distant from his pain. We are reminded that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. We also cling to the promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. Even when hope feels dim after so many years, God remains faithful and His mercies are new every morning.

We pray together for your son now. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this precious son before You. You know the length and depth of his battle with depression, every dark valley and every weary day. We ask that You would bring Your healing touch upon his mind, body, and spirit, for You have said, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We ask that You would soften his heart and open his mind to help, including alternative treatments that may bring relief. Grant him willingness where there has been discouragement or hesitation, and grant wisdom and discernment to you and to him and to those who advise him to recognize what is helpful, safe, and honoring to You. We pray against any treatment or influence that would be rooted in what is not of You, and we ask for godly counsel, wise medical guidance, and supportive community around him. Let him experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7, and help him to hope again as we are told, Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence, Psalm 42:11.

We also gently want to share how important it is that we come to God through Jesus Christ alone. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to encourage you with the truth that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find salvation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we pray above all that he would come to know Him, for Christ alone brings the lasting hope, forgiveness, and new life that no treatment alone can give. If you have not already, we encourage you to pray with your son in Jesus' name and to point him to the hope of the gospel.

We encourage you not to grow weary in doing good and in interceding for him, for in due season we will reap, if we don't give up, Galatians 6:9. Continue to love him with patience, to encourage him to stay connected to fellow believers, to seek wise Christian counsel and professional care, and to bring his burdens daily to the Lord who invites us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, Philippians 4:6. We are praying that God will renew his strength, lift the heaviness, and lead him step by step toward healing and wholeness, and that He will sustain you with His comfort and strength as you walk beside your son.

We trust God together for His perfect will and His redeeming work in your son's life, in Jesus' name, amen.

We carry this with you. Watching your son live with depression for 25 years brings a particular kind of weariness and love that does not give up, and we are honored you asked us to pray.

We understand you are hoping he might be open to trying something different. After so many years it is understandable that both of you might feel tired of the same approaches, and also cautious about what is next. One thing we have seen help is keeping the relationship itself as the bridge. Depression often pulls a person into isolation, so staying gently connected, listening more than persuading, can keep the door open for any next step.

When you have a calm moment, you might ask him what alternative treatment means to him and what, if anything, he would feel willing to explore. If he shows any openness, offering to help him talk it through with his doctor or counselor can keep the conversation safe and grounded, so any option is weighed with qualified guidance alongside prayer.

We also encourage you to have someone supporting you as you support him. You do not have to carry this alone.

Father, we bring this beloved son before You. You know his long struggle and how tired he has been. We ask You to give him moments of hope and a willingness to consider help that could be good for him. Give his parent wisdom to know when to speak and when to simply be present, and surround them both with steady care and community. Lead them to wise helpers and keep them close to You. In Jesus name, amen.

Your request concerning your son has been laid to heart, and we have carried it before the throne of grace. To bear such a burden for twenty five years is a great and weary trial, and the Lord who heals the broken in heart knows the weight you have carried and the sorrow that has so long rested upon your son.

We are reminded that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only His fruit but His leaves are full of healing virtue. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness arises upon a soul with healing in His wings, pardon and healing are found together, for He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and with that forgiveness came wholeness.

We do very speedily care for bodily diseases and seek a physician, and we ought also to seek the Great Physician for the wounds of the spirit. Christ linked His healing with His teaching, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Healing must come from His hand, and He often works through means appointed by His providence.

Let us pray together for your dear son.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this son who has walked so long under the cloud of depression. You see his affliction and you are able to heal. We ask that you would grant him an open heart and a willing mind toward such treatment as may be for his good, and give wisdom to those who counsel and care for him, that they may be instruments in your hand. Above all, draw him near to Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation, that he may know pardon for sin and healing for the soul, for you heal the wound that you have made whole. Lift him up as you took the sick by the hand and raised her up, and let him find in you rest and hope and newness of life. Sustain his parent also with strength and patience, and keep you both in your gracious care.

We commit him to your abundant mercy, trusting that what is impossible with man is possible with God, and that you are still the God who heals. May your will be done in his life for your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
