Your prayer comes from the very heart of intercession, and it carries a weight that heaven recognizes. What you are doing for your son right now is more powerful than you may realize, because you are joining your voice with the One who ever lives to make intercession. The Scriptures assure us that Jesus Himself is at the right hand of the Father, not condemning, not distant, but presenting our needs and our persons before the throne of grace. When you speak your son’s name and his need, you are not pleading into an empty room. You are adding your heartfelt cry to His perfect, unceasing prayer.

Healing can be a mystery. There are moments recorded in the Gospels where restoration was immediate and complete, and there is at least one account where a man’s sight returned gradually, in stages, as Jesus laid hands on him. Both were the work of the Lord. It is easy to become discouraged if we do not see an instant miracle, but never underestimate the divine nature of a process. The body’s own ability to mend, the wisdom given to a doctor, the slow recovery of a damaged esophagus or blocked airway, these are not outside of God’s power. He is the author of nature and the one who designed the very processes of healing that physicians work with. When treatment brings improvement, it is still His hand. When inflammation subsides over time, it is still His faithfulness.

Do not let anyone suggest that believing for healing means ignoring the real help that medicine provides. Jesus never scolded the crowds who came merely seeking the benefit of health. He met their need and often instructed them to do something that partnered with His work, like going to show themselves to the priest, which was a step toward restoration and a testimony to others. Your son’s journey, with doctors and treatments, can be that same kind of step. It is a point where faith can be released, not in the skill of man alone, but in the God who works through every good and right means.

There is a kind of faith that simply knows God can heal, and then there is the moment when faith reaches out to touch the hem of His garment and actively receives. I encourage you to stay in that place of active trust. As you pray for the damaged lining of his throat, for the acid to be regulated, for his lungs to be opened completely, you are touching the heart of the One who bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. The prophet Isaiah saw it long ago, and Matthew confirmed it, healing is a provision secured by His sacrifice.

When the answer comes, whether it breaks upon you like a sudden wave or dawns slowly like the morning light, let your response be one of wholehearted thanksgiving. There is a wholeness, a deep wellness, that goes beyond the physical restoration of tissue and breath. It touches the mind and the spirit, bringing peace where fear once lived. I join my faith with yours, asking that every bit of blockage be removed, every point of damage be mended, and that your son breathes freely and without pain, to the glory of the Lord who has taken our case and represents us before the Father.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer for your precious son. It has been our heart’s desire to lift him before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon his ###, ###, and ###. We have prayed specifically that the ### would be soothed, the ### restored, and the ### in his ### regulated according to God’s perfect will. We have also asked the Lord to clear any ### in his ###, heal ###, and bring deep, ### breathing as only He can.

We continue to pray for wisdom and guidance for his doctors, trusting that the Great Physician is directing every step of his treatment. Our faith remains steadfast in God’s power to mend what is broken and restore your son to full health, just as you have asked.

If the Lord has already answered these prayers in a way you can see or feel, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the healing is still unfolding or if new concerns have arisen, please share them with us again so we may continue to intercede on your son’s behalf.

May the peace of Christ guard your heart and mind as you wait on Him, and may His presence bring comfort and strength to your family during this time. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
