Beloved of All
Father God, I come before You in the name of Jesus to ask for Your healing touch upon my son. Lord, his esophagus is eroded and damaged and ask that You soothe the inflammation, heal the lining, and regulate acid in his stomach. I also pray for his lungs and respiratory system. I ask that You remove all blockage, heal any damage from infection, and open his airways completely so he can breathe deeply and without pain. Lord, I ask that You guide his doctors and bless his treatment. I trust in Your power to mend what is broken and restore him to full health, in Jesus name Amen

We join you in lifting your son before the throne of grace, trusting in the mighty healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible assures us that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on this promise as we intercede for your son’s complete restoration. Father God, we ask You to touch his esophagus, soothing the inflammation, repairing the damaged lining, and bringing balance to his stomach. May Your healing hand remove every trace of erosion and restore it to full health. We also pray for his lungs and respiratory system, clear every blockage, heal any damage from infection, and open his airways so he may breathe freely and without pain. Lord, we ask that You guide his doctors with wisdom and discernment, blessing every treatment and medication to work according to Your perfect will.

We declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your healing power flows through his body even now. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness in Jesus’ name, commanding it to leave and never return. Father, strengthen his body, renew his strength, and fill him with peace as he trusts in You. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the testimony of healing that will glorify Your name.

Lord, we also lift up this family in prayer, asking for Your comfort and peace to surround them during this time. May they feel Your presence and trust in Your promises, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We pray for patience and endurance as they wait on You, and we ask that You provide them with everything they need, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

As we read your request, our hearts go out to you, it’s clear how deeply you love your son, and how heavily this weighs on you day to day. Watching someone we love suffer, especially when it involves something as basic and constant as breathing or swallowing, is wearying in a way that goes beyond words. We want you to know we’re standing with you in this, and we’re not in a hurry to move past the weight of it.

One thing that sometimes helps parents in your position is keeping a simple, running journal of symptoms, medication timing, and anything that seems to ease or worsen his discomfort. It doesn’t need to be detailed or “perfect”, just a few lines each day. This can become a practical gift you hand to his doctors at appointments, giving them a clearer picture than any single conversation could. And honestly, it also helps you feel a little less powerless in the waiting. When the medical path feels slow, having that small record can be a quiet way of partnering with the physicians you’re praying for God to guide.

We also want to say something directly to you: caring for a son through a long-haul illness can hollow out a parent’s reserves without them even noticing. Please don’t underestimate how much this costs you. If there’s a trusted friend or a family member you can update honestly, not putting on a brave face, but letting them know when you’re tired or scared, that’s not weakness. That’s keeping your own lungs clear enough to stay in this for the long run.

Father, we lift up this son to You. We ask for Your healing hand on his esophagus, soothe the inflammation, protect the lining, and bring his body back to a place of rest. We ask for his lungs and airways: clear whatever does not belong, heal the damage from infection, and let each breath come easily and without pain. Give his doctors steady hands and clear minds. And for this parent who is carrying so much, we ask for real peace that holds firm even while the waiting continues. You see every worried thought and every sleepless night, meet them right there. We trust You with this boy’s body and his future, in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The Tree of Life spreads its healing leaves not only for the soul, but for the body also, for the body is the outward chamber of the temple wherein the spirit dwells. When you ask for your son’s esophagus to be soothed and his airways opened, you are not asking too great a thing from Him who formed the inward parts and knit us together in the womb. Christ took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses; the healing virtue that flowed from His garment’s hem has not dried up, but abides in His living person, seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Pray on, then, and breathe in the atmosphere of that promise: the Lord will heal him.

Yet fix this truth in your heart, as I have often sought to fix it in my own flock: the same hand that can regulate acid and remove blockage is the hand that was pierced for our transgressions. The healing of the body is a little token, an appetizer of the greater feast. The sore need of your son’s frame should set your soul upon the deeper malady, the disease of sin that wastes the inner man. The blocked airway, the eroded passageway, are these not pictures of how sin obstructs our breathing of the heavenly air and how grief erodes our peace? Therefore, while you lay your son’s body before the Lord, beseech Him all the more that both you and the boy may taste the full pardon that comes with the exaltation of God in the heart. The people that dwell in Zion are forgiven their iniquity, and with that forgiveness comes a wholeness that no earthly physician can prescribe. To have God declare, “Your sins are forgiven,” is to have a new sun set blazing in your sky. Lay hold of this for your son; lay hold of it for your own soul also.

The Great Physician’s cures are word-linked with His surgery of the spirit. He touches the fevered frame that He may lift the fallen spirit. So I would press this upon you: in your vigils for your son, see to it that no unconfessed sin lies like a blockage in your own communion with God. Stand in the light, for God is light. If we hide our wound, it festers; if we pretend no corruption is there, the Great Surgeon’s swift knife cannot whittle away the proud flesh. Be honest with God about all that ails you, even as you have been honest about your son’s throat and lungs. Then, having been made transparent by confession, trust the healing touch that comes through the word of the promise. The Word of God is not bound, not by disease, not by the limits of medicine, not by the grave itself. Jesus took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her and she ministered to them. Contact with Christ is the healing point.

I would not have you play the looker-on at this mercy, merely observing the ways of Providence as though you sat in judgment upon them. Some sneer and say, “Who can forgive sins but God only?” and in that very caviling they prove they have felt no healing power. Do not number yourself among them. Instead, bring your son to Jesus in the arms of your faith; tear open the roof if you must, but get him before the Lord. The waters of life are spread wide as the ocean, why hesitate to plunge in? Healing for the body, healing for the soul, healing from the power of sin, all are found in Him. Do not rest content with a partial cure, a repaired esophagus that yet leaves a wounded spirit untouched. Seek the whole Christ for the whole man. And as you have asked God to guide the doctors and bless the treatment, so ask Him to guide you, as a father, to speak truth to your son, that even now, in his weakness, he may hear the voice of Jesus saying, “I am the Lord that healeth thee.” The abiding power of the healing leaves keeps the soul in perpetual health. May that power drop upon your household thick as the leaves of the eternal wood, until you all stand whole before His face.

You do well to pray so fervently, “night and day praying exceedingly,” as the apostle did, for such importunity as this has great power with God. Remember the woman of Canaan, how her long attendance and unyielding plea finally obtained the healing of her daughter when even silence met her first cries. Persistence at the throne of grace is not a small thing when it springs from a heart that already trusts.

But take care lest, in your burning anxiety for the body, you overlook the soul. You speak of erosions and inflamed passages, of airways choked. This is a grievous trial, yet consider: that very word “inflammation” which the body suffers is used also of the inner man. The fever of covetousness, the dropsy of pride, the bloated swelling of self-reliance, these are sicknesses none can cool because the patient will not admit the physician. Your son’s bodily ailment is visible to you, and you rightly seek a cure. So much more should we flee the hidden fevers of the soul which, when fed with whatever they crave, do not quench the thirst but kindle the flame yet higher.

Now, use this trial as a medicine for both him and yourself. Do not seek all at once, nor demand that God work only in the manner you prescribe. Climb the ladder gently. The true healing that springs up like a well of water into everlasting life is given often through the very affliction you wish removed. The lame and maimed body, when met with a soul full of thanksgiving and moderation, becomes a bright ornament like the poor man’s table before the rich man’s surfeit. Trust the Physician who knows how to mend what is broken, and while you beg for the esophagus to be soothed and the lungs cleared, beg more urgently that whatever inflammation of the soul might lodge there be purged away. He who gives the greater gift will not withhold the lesser.
