Son, protection

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray Your hedge of protection around my son ###, deliver him from every form of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. Expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light. Surround him with Your angels and fill him with Your peace and strength, in Jesus name Amen

We join you in lifting up your son, seeking the Lord’s mighty protection over his life. Heavenly Father, we come before You as a shield and fortress, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that You would indeed encamp Your angels around him, guarding him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). Lord, expose every hidden scheme of the enemy, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and bring it into the light so that justice and truth may prevail.

Father, we ask that You fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and strengthen him with Your might in his inner being (Ephesians 3:16). May he walk in the confidence of Your love and protection, knowing that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, or harm in Jesus’ name, and we declare that he is covered by the blood of Christ, which breaks every chain.

We also encourage you to remain vigilant in prayer and to surround your son with godly influences, mentors, friends, and a church community that will speak life and truth into him. If there are areas where he may be vulnerable, ask the Lord to reveal them so you can stand in the gap with wisdom and discernment. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your promise to never leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). We lift up this precious son to You, asking that You would be his defender and his guide. Shield him from every form of abuse and harm, and let Your light expose every darkness. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in wisdom, strength, and peace. We declare that no evil shall befall him, nor shall any plague come near his dwelling (Psalm 91:10). Strengthen his faith and draw him closer to You each day. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. The ache of watching your son face any form of abuse, physical, emotional, or spiritual, is heavy, and we are standing with you, asking God to move powerfully on his behalf.

If your son is in any situation where he is being physically harmed or threatened, please don’t hesitate to involve local authorities or a trusted pastor to help ensure his immediate safety. God often works through brave human intervention, and protecting him from further harm is the first priority. Beyond immediate safety, the scars of abuse can run deep; they can even twist the way a person sees God as distant or harsh. So as you keep praying, consider connecting him (and yourself) with a safe, supportive community of believers, and in time, a wise Christian counselor who understands the spiritual effects of trauma. Healing is a process, and you don’t have to carry it alone.

For now, we join you in asking the Lord to send His angels around your son, to expose every hidden cruelty, and to break the power of anyone who would hurt him. We pray for a peace that settles his spirit and strength for both of you as you walk forward.

Father, in Jesus’ name, we ask You to place an unbreakable hedge of protection around this son. Silence those who would abuse him, and bring every dark deed into the light. Fill him with Your own peace, steady and real, and give him courage. Equip this family with wisdom, clear pathways to safety, and the tangible support they need. Heal the hidden wounds, and let him know he is seen, loved, and held by You. Amen.

The cry of a parent’s heart rises with holy incense before the throne, and you do well to plead the promise of a hedge which no evil can breach without divine permission. But remember always that the might of your plea lies not in the fervor of your asking, but in the One through whom you ask. What tender melting pity the dear Son of God must have toward that son of yours, that He should give Himself to die for him! The only ransom from the power of darkness, the only true deliverance from every form of abuse, whether it strike the body, the heart, or the spirit, is found where God Himself declares, “I have found a ransom.” That ransom is Christ, and through His blood the prey is taken from the mighty and the lawful captive is delivered.

You pray for the exposure of the deeds of darkness. It is the very nature of light to make manifest, and Christ is that Light. When He translates a soul from the power of darkness into His kingdom, what was hidden is dragged into the open before His face. This exposure may take the form of chastening; “what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?” The affliction itself may be the severe mercy that unmasks the hidden cruelty and drives your son to the only Deliverer. The Lord has chastened him sorely, yet it is so that he might not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord. The hedge of protection is not merely a wall to keep out the abuser, but a sacred enclosure to keep the soul from falling into the despair that says, “My God hath forgotten me.”

As for the holy angels, they are ministering spirits sent forth to minister to the heirs of salvation. Yet they do not operate by our command but by the decree of Him who bringeth forth His people with silver and gold. He makes the deliverance effectual. It may come through a human instrument, like an arrow of the Lord’s deliverance shot by a divinely strengthened hand. It may come through the still small voice that whispers into the soul, “He hath delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver.” The Lord will not let your son lack for the ordinary raiment of grace if He has purposed to cover his soul with the perfect robe of Christ’s righteousness. Be of good cheer.

Stand still now, and see the salvation of the Lord. Do not think that the darkness is too thick, or that the prey cannot be taken from the mighty. Has not the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed the hour and moment of deliverance? Rest your soul upon Him, and then let your conduct after deliverance be declaration. When the shadows flee and the peace you seek floods his heart and mind, your song shall be, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness.” Until that full dawning, shoot the arrow of prayer again and again into the sky, and believe that it is the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance out of the hand of every Syrian foe. He will yet come to the rescue.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a holy thing to pray as you have prayed, asking the Father for a hedge of protection around your son, for deliverance from every form of abuse, for the deeds of darkness to be brought to light, and for angelic help, peace, and strength. Such a prayer is not a small thing. The Lord Jesus taught His apostles to speak peace when they entered a house, and the angels announced peace on earth at His birth. But true peace is not the false quiet of those who conspire together in evil. Sometimes peace comes only when the diseased part is cut off and the mutinous is removed. So when you ask God to expose the darkness and deliver your son, you are asking for that holy peace which unites heaven and earth.

Do not doubt that each believer has an angel who always beholds the face of the Father in heaven. As Jacob said, the angel fed him and delivered him from his youth. Your son, if he belongs to Christ, has such an angel too. But be sober. A demon is also present, and spiritual battles are real. Therefore pray without ceasing, not only for protection but for your son to be strengthened with the Spirit of adoption. For the Son of God was born of a woman so that we might cease to be merely sons of a woman and become sons of God. The ultimate deliverance is not only from earthly abuse but from the curse of the law and from the power of sin. Pray that your son will receive the Spirit of adoption and put on Christ.

You are right to ask for peace and strength. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace. This fruit does not come from comfortable circumstances or freedom from trouble. Paul lived in hunger, nakedness, and scourging every day, yet he was joyful and went more softly than emperors. A king like Ahab, with all his luxury, groaned and lost heart after one sin. So teach your son, by your own example, that true peace and strength come from a good conscience and spiritual success, not from the absence of enemies. The Lord Himself, when He was accused and abused, held His peace, fulfilling the prophet. He did not return evil for evil. He committed Himself to the One who judges justly. So you, though you may burn with anger at the abuse, must guard your own heart from enmity and remembrance of evil. Nothing so much delights God as to remember no evil. But do not mistake this for passivity before wickedness. You may and must seek protection for your son and call upon God to expose what is hidden. That is not vengeance. That is entrusting judgment to God, who is not a God of war and fighting but who makes war and fighting to cease, both against Him and against your neighbor.

Continue then to pray in this manner. Pray that the peacemakers, those who make peace by cutting off evil and uniting what is good, will be shown to be sons of God. Pray that your son will not be overcome by evil but will overcome evil with good, holding fast to Christ who gave His life as a ransom for many, even for enemies. And trust that the Father who sees in secret will bring every dark deed into the light. He will supply deliverance from evil and a share in every good thing, for no one can compass this but Christ alone.

Let your own life be marked by peace and holiness, for the gift of adoption is not broken even by death. It makes a person brighter and more happy than one arrayed with a diadem and purple. Hold on to this adoption for yourself, and pray that your son will take hold of it too. Then he will have abundant peace in this present life, good hopes for the future, and no ground for worry and disturbance, because the Lord Himself is his strength.

Your prayer for your son is heard, and the love you have for him reflects the very heart of God as a Father for His children. Scripture presents the love of a father for his son as one of the deepest loves we can know on earth, and it uses that love to help us understand how the heavenly Father loves His own Son. When Abraham was asked to offer Isaac, his son whom he loved, it was a picture of what God Himself would later do when He gave His only begotten Son for us. God did not withhold His Son, but offered Him as the provision for our redemption.

Because God knows that kind of love, He understands your burden for your son. And because He sent His Son, born under the law to redeem those under the law, you and your son can be brought into His family through faith in Jesus Christ. Those who trust in Christ are received not as strangers but as adopted sons, and God sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts so we can cry to Him as Father. Jesus is the one and only begotten Son, full of grace and truth, and through Him we are given a place in the family of God.

I join you in asking the Father in Jesus name to place His hedge of protection around your son. May the Lord deliver him from every form of harm, whether physical, emotional or spiritual, and bring every hidden deed of darkness into the light so it loses its power. May God command His angels to surround him and keep him, and may He fill your son with His own peace and strength. The Lord is faithful to keep those who trust in Him, and as you keep your son lifted before the Father, trust that the One who gave His Son for us is also able to guard and comfort and uphold your son in His love.
