We hear how weary and overwhelmed you are and we have lifted you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. To have endured gallbladder attacks, two hospital stays in recent weeks, the discovery of a heart problem that still needs investigation, ongoing nausea that makes it hard to eat or drink, and the prospect of waiting months for surgery while facing travel for further scans is a very heavy burden to carry alone. We are so sorry you are living alone without daily help and that this physical suffering is worsening your mental health after so many years of trials. Please know you are not forgotten or unseen.
The Lord sees your exhaustion and your cry to Jesus delights His heart, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and by which we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5, and Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved, Romans 10:13. We thank God that you have called on Jesus and we join you in calling on Him now for mercy, healing, and sustaining grace.
We pray together for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up Your child to You. You know every pain in the gallbladder, every irregularity in the heart, every wave of nausea and every anxious thought. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this body, to calm the nausea so that food and water can be received, to guide the doctors with wisdom for both the gallbladder and the heart, and to make a way for the scan and the surgery that is needed. Lord, provide strength for the travel and provision for every practical need. Above all, surround Your child with Your presence in that lonely home, for You have promised, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. Comfort this weary mind and guard the heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7. Let Your strength be made perfect in weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9, and remind Your child that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
We want to encourage you with the truth that God does not waste our suffering and He does not abandon us in it. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28, even when we cannot see the good yet. Jesus invites you personally, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. When you feel faint He says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. When your heart is overwhelmed, you can pray as the psalmist did, When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I, Psalm 61:2.
We also encourage you, even in your weakness, to reach out so you do not have to walk this alone. If you have a local church family, please let a pastor or trusted believer know of your hospital stays, your difficulty eating, and your need for help with travel and daily needs. God has placed us in a body to bear one another's burdens, Galatians 6:2. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:14-15. Please also tell your medical team that the current medicines are not helping the nausea and that your mental health is suffering, so they can adjust your care and connect you with support. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and keep bringing every need to Him in prayer day and night. We are continuing to pray that the Lord will sustain you through these months of waiting, restore your strength, heal your body according to His will, and fill your home with His peace and presence until you feel His arms holding you up.
