I can’t find a new job after leaving the old one end started giving up . No mercy on me

We hear how exhausted and depleted you are, and we are lifting you up together before the Lord. You have been through prolonged suffering and what feels like malicious attacks and injustice, having to fight a battle on your own against a landlord and even an agency that hid your evidence to protect wrongdoing, and now you are weary from that fight and from not being able to find new work after leaving your old job. It is understandable that your heart feels overwhelmed and that even reading the Bible feels hard right now, but we want to encourage you not to give up, for God sees all that has been hidden and He has not forgotten you.

The Lord knows when we are faint and when our heart is overwhelmed. Scripture says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. He gives power to the faint. To him who has no might he increases strength Isaiah 40:29. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I Psalm 61:2. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Though people may have shown you no mercy, God's mercy has not failed. It is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23.

We also hear your pain about the injustice with your rental assistance and the landlord's fraud and overcharging and the attempt to make you a co-conspirator in a coverup. We rebuke that dishonesty and corruption, for God hates such injustice and He calls His people to act justly and to not bear false witness. Nothing is hidden from Him. There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account Hebrews 4:13, and For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. Yahweh executes righteous acts and justice for all who are oppressed Psalm 103:6. We are to not seek revenge ourselves, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We can trust Him to repay in His perfect time and way while we continue to walk in truth and integrity.

We want to gently encourage you about your struggle to read the Bible because of suffering. The Word is not meant to be a burden but a lamp to your feet and a comfort to your soul Psalm 119:105. Even if you can only read a few verses at a time, ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding and peace. Don't be anxious about finding a perfect quiet hour, just come honestly before Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also encourage you not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don't give up Galatians 6:9. God has a plan for your provision and your next job, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true rest and salvation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for mercy, forgiveness, and help in your time of need. It is in His name that we can boldly bring your burdens to God.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our brother who is so tired and depleted. Lord, You see the suffering he has endured, the malicious attacks, the hidden evidence, the fraud and injustice he has faced alone, and the exhaustion of fighting without support. We ask for Your mercy and comfort to surround him now. Give him rest for his soul and strength for his body. Renew his mind as he seeks You in Your Word, even in small portions, and let Your Spirit bring understanding and hope. We ask You to expose what has been hidden and to bring righteous justice in this housing matter according to Your will. Protect him from further harm and from unscrupulous people. Provide for his needs and open the door to a good and honest job where he can use his gifts and be treated with dignity. Guard his heart from giving up and fill him with Your peace that passes all understanding. Lead him to trust fully in Jesus Christ as his Savior and refuge. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing your honest heart to the Lord daily, to continue in prayer and in the Word even a little at a time, and to seek godly counsel and practical help for your housing and employment needs as you are able. God has not abandoned you and He will give you strength to finish this battle in a way that honors Him.

We've read your note and we hear how worn down you are. Fighting a long, lonely battle with a landlord and an agency that was supposed to help, while also trying to find work, would leave anyone depleted. No wonder even opening your Bible feels hard right now.

You carried a heavy stack of evidence and had to push for truth on your own, and you said you're nearly finished with that fight. That kind of prolonged pressure takes a real toll on sleep, energy and hope. And then to leave a job and face silence in the job search can make it feel like there is no mercy anywhere.

We want you to know we don't see your struggle to read as failure. When we are under months of strain with no recovery time, our capacity shrinks. God understands that weariness.

As you come to the end of this housing fight, it may help to not carry the next part alone. Could you share your job search with one trusted person this week, a pastor, a former coworker, or a local workforce center, just to have another set of eyes and some company in it? And on the days reading feels impossible, a brief honest prayer in your own words is enough, you don't have to force more.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see every document, every disappointment, every night of exhaustion. Give rest where there has been no rest, and wisdom for the next step for work and housing. Let them feel Your nearness and Your mercy today, and bring trustworthy help alongside. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

There is a heaviness of soul in your words which is well known to many who have walked through deep waters, a weariness so great that even to open the Bible feels beyond strength. To be wronged, to have evidence hidden, to be pressed toward what conscience forbids, and then to be left to fight alone while work fails and strength is spent, is a sore trial indeed. Yet you are not unseen, and you are not without hope.

Our Lord Jesus knows what it is to be betrayed and falsely dealt with. He was sold by a friend, accused by false witnesses, and delivered up though no fault was found in Him. In that betrayal prophecy was fulfilled and atonement was completed, and by it He became a High Priest able to sympathize with us in every point. He knows the sting of malicious attacks and hidden dealings, and He looks upon your cause with perfect knowledge and perfect justice. What man hides, God sees. Justice with Him is not forgotten, for when justice is satisfied in Christ, God can be both just and the justifier of them that trust in Him.

You write that you have no mercy and that you have begun to give up. Let me speak plainly to that despair, for despair is useless and it is a great insult to the mercy of God. No man has a right to despair while there is an omnipotent God to deal with him, while the precious blood of Christ is still pleaded for sinners, and while the gate of mercy stands wide open. Despair says in effect that Satan has been victorious over grace, and it degrades a man below the very beasts who still struggle for life. It has never helped any soul, it has not kept any from sin, it has only made the darkness thicker. There is a blessed despair of self, when a man despairs of saving himself and falls into the arms of Christ, but to despair of God is without warrant. There is not a text in Scripture that gives any man leave to despair.

Rather, hope is well grounded. As it was said in Egypt, there is corn in Egypt. There is mercy with God, there is pardon through the blood of Christ, there is daily bread with our Father. Though you feel depleted and nearly finished, the Lord hears the voice of supplication when a poor soul cries out of the depths. Saints who now shine brightest in heaven have sat weeping at the gates of despair and found that God heard them. If you were between the very jaws of hell, Christ could snatch you forth. While life lasts, while the invitation still rings, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, despair is not reasonable.

Do not think your inability to read as you once did puts you far from God. When strength fails, a single verse, a single cry, is heard. Read a little, pray a little, and cry mightily. He has taught you to cry and He will assuredly answer. He who heard the psalmist when he said, I am cut off from before thine eyes, yet heard his supplication, will hear you.

You did well not to consent to a coverup. To keep a clear conscience before God, though it cost you much, is better than any gain that comes by fraud. The Lord will vindicate what is right in His own time. Commit your cause to Him who judgeth righteously, continue to act with truthfulness in what remains of that battle, and leave vengeance and vindication to Him.

And for your daily provision and work, take hope and take action. Despair sits and looks upon others, but faith goes down to where the corn is. Go again to the Lord in prayer for daily bread and for open doors of honest labour, use the means He puts before you, seek counsel and make your needs known to those who may help, and trust that He who clothes the lilies will not forget you.

I pray that the Lord will lift this heavy weariness, that He will give you rest in Christ alone for salvation and peace, that He will sustain your conscience, bring truth to light concerning what was hidden, and provide for you a place of honest work. May He turn your sighs into supplications and your supplications into songs, and may you find, even in small portions of His Word, that His mercy is not removed from you but is new every morning.
