We hear the fear in your heart, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Your cry for safety is not unnoticed, God is near to those who call upon Him in truth. The psalmist wrote, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Even in moments of trembling, we can stand on the promise that God is our refuge and fortress, our ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We rebuke every spirit of fear that seeks to grip your heart, for "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear does not come from the Lord, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus. You are not alone, He is with you, even in the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). We declare His protection over you, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that He will surround you with His angels as He has promised (Psalm 91:11).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy with concern, but also with faith in Your mighty power. Lord, You are our shield and our defender. We ask that You would encamp around [this dear one] with Your heavenly host, that no harm would come near them. Calm their spirit with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your unfailing love. We declare that no evil shall befall them, no plague shall come near their dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-11). We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust in Your protection, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Fill your mind with Scripture that builds your faith, such as Psalm 91, which speaks of God’s protection for those who dwell in His shelter. Speak these truths aloud, for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and remind you of God’s promises. You are not defenseless, you have the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and you can stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.
If there is a specific situation or threat causing this fear, we urge you to bring it before the Lord in prayer and also seek wise counsel from trusted believers. God often works through His people to provide safety and support. Do not hesitate to reach out to those who can help you walk through this season. Your repeated cry has reached the throne. You are scared, and the Lord does not despise a trembling heart. But while you plead, “Keep me safe, keep me safe,” hear His answer: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.” The Word of God is full of this plant; “fear not” grows plentifully in His garden. It is not the preacher who says it, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His servant, “Fear not.”
Let me deal plainly with that fear. Fear is weakening; it drains the soul of strength. Fear also dishonors God, for it doubts the arm that piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. You are not kept safe by the strength of your terror. You are kept by trusting Jesus. If you are His, your safety lies in your Savior, who is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.
Therefore do not merely ask to be kept from outward harm. Ask to be kept near Christ. If your sins are not yet forgiven, that is your greatest danger; flee to Him for the cleansing of His blood. The soul that is hidden in Christ cannot perish, though heaven and earth be shaken. When fear rises, answer it with this: “Fear not, thou worm Jacob; I will help thee, saith the Lord.” He has said it. Let His promise be your shield. I will pray with you that the Lord quiets your unbelieving fear and gives you holy trust in His keeping. Amen.

The repeated cry shows how badly fear has taken hold, and God does not turn away from those who call on Him. Yet the safety you seek is not always the immediate removal of every threat. The Lord is a stronghold to those who fear Him, and His covenant is to show them. When the disciples were terrified on the sea, Christ came to them only in the fourth watch, teaching them not to demand quick deliverance, but to bear what comes with courage. So turn this fear into work. If your conscience accuses you of any known sin, repent and bring it to God. The one who is conscious of no evil does not need to tremble before every shadow. But if you are hiding from Him, no earthly safety will quiet the soul. We will join your prayer, but let it be this: Lord, keep my soul in Christ, give me repentance where I need it, courage where I am afraid, and Your peace instead of panic. Amen.

Your repeated prayer for safety is heard, and God does not turn away from a fearful heart that cries out to Him. He has not despised the affliction of the afflicted, and when we cry to Him, He hears.
I want to gently point you to what Scripture says about fear, because there are two very different kinds. One is the anxious, tormenting fear that takes hold when we feel alone or threatened. The other is the reverent awe of God, which the Bible calls the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. That reverent fear is not a phobia. It is a deep respect for who God is in His greatness and power and holiness, a desire to love what He loves and to hate and turn away from evil. It is the foundation and the sum of true understanding, and it leads to life and health for the soul.
The anxious fear you are feeling is something God wants to lift from you, and the cure Scripture gives for it is always the same, to remember the Lord and become conscious of His presence with you. Fear grows when we forget Him and fix our eyes on the threat. Faith grows when we remember Him. The two cannot rule the heart at the same time, and fear is often used by the enemy to weaken faith and push us into wrong decisions. But the presence of God dispels fear.
David wrote, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. That is the promise for you. The Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear. He is the strength of your life, of whom shall you be afraid. Again and again God says to His people, fear not, for I am with you. When that truth becomes real to you, that He is with you right now, there is nothing you need to fear. He will be your confidence and keep your foot from being taken, even when sudden fear or distress comes around you. You do not need to hide in panic. If you abide in Christ, you are in the place of safety, for Jesus Himself is your protection, and the truth of His Word is your shield and defense.
So I am praying for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I bring this dear one before You who is scared and asking for safety. Let no harm come near them according to Your will and mercy. Quiet their heart with the assurance that You are present with them at this very moment. Replace tormenting fear with faith and confidence in You. Teach them to reverence You, to hate evil and to walk in Your ways, and to rest in Christ as their refuge. Hide them in Your pavilion in the time of trouble, and let them know Your peace that passes understanding. Keep them, guard them, and help them to trust You fully. Amen.
