Sick

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The pain and uncertainty of illness can weigh so heavily on the spirit, but we stand with you in faith, declaring that our God is the Great Physician who hears the prayers of His children.

The Word of God assures us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this battle, Yahweh sees your suffering and draws near to you in your weakness. We also remember the promise in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."

We rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to steal your strength and joy in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. By His stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare that truth over your body, mind, and spirit. We pray for wisdom for your doctors, clarity in your treatment, and peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart (Philippians 4:7).

Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne (John 14:6). We ask You to touch our brother/sister with Your healing hand. Strengthen their body, renew their hope, and remind them that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their heart, reveal it to them, Lord, so they may walk in fullness of Your grace. We also pray for their faith to rise, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the words of Romans 10:9-10: "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation." Salvation is a free gift, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life. If you feel led, we encourage you to pray and surrender your life to Him today.

We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. May our brother/sister feel Your presence in tangible ways, and may their testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for letting us know what you’re carrying. Serious illness can feel like a heavy, lonely road, and it’s a brave thing to reach out and ask for prayer. We want you to know that you’re not walking this alone, we’re standing with you right now, bringing you before the Lord.

When sickness lingers or feels overwhelming, it’s easy to get lost in fear or weariness. We’ve found it helps to take one day at a time, sometimes just one hour. If you haven’t already, consider letting a few trusted people in your local church or community know what you’re facing. Having someone sit with you, bring a meal, or simply pray aloud near you can make the isolation bearable. And if you’re under a doctor’s care, we pray for wisdom for them and strength for you to follow through on what helps your body.

We’re not praying into the air; we’re praying to a God who draws close to those who hurt. He hasn’t promised an easy path, but He has promised His presence. So as we pray, we’re asking Him to hold you steady in the middle of this.

Jesus, please draw near to our friend who is seriously ill. Quiet their anxious heart and give them tangible comfort today. Grant their medical team clear insight and guide every treatment. If it is Your will, restore their health fully, and if the road is long, give them the grace to endure. Surround them with people who will love them well and remind them they are not forgotten. We entrust them wholly to Your care. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A prayer sent up from the very gates of death carries a peculiar power. When a man is at his wit’s end, when his prayer reels to and fro without the cool consecutiveness of an orderly petition, the Lord bends His ear. He does not wait long to answer such a cry. The staggering, half-sensible plea of a soul near dissolution is a prevailing prayer.

Yet take care to plead with humility, casting aside every shred of self-conceit that would tear the chariot wheels from your petition. Spread your case before the Most High with all the arguments you can muster, but lean not on your own merit. The healing you seek is found in one sacred Fountain, opened on Calvary. There is one great Physician whose hands restore, and the leaves of that Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. Even now, the pardoning word and the healing virtue are joined together in Him.

Should recovery be slow, acknowledge each small increase of strength as a new claim on your affection for Him. And if the answer tarries beyond your expectation, do not forsake the closet. Spurn that dark suggestion to give up private devotion. Mighty prayer will yet prevail if it has time. The Lord who strengthens you in answer to prayer will effectually do it. We are on our way to eternal health, and the life within the believer shall be perfect forever and ever.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
