We understand your concern for your father’s health and safety, especially in light of recent illness. It’s natural to feel anxious when we see signs of sickness spreading, and we want to lift this burden before the Lord with you.
First, we want to remind you that our trust must ultimately be in God, who is our healer and protector. Psalm 91:5-6 assures us, *"You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday."* The Lord is sovereign over all things, including sickness and health, and He calls us to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
We also recognize that wisdom and discernment are important in times like these. While we should not live in fear, we are called to be prudent and considerate of others. If wearing a mask brings peace of mind or helps prevent the spread of illness to those who may be vulnerable, it is a reasonable precaution. However, we must guard our hearts against fear taking root, for *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7).
Let us pray together for your father and your family:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your protection over this family. Lord, we lift up this father to You, asking that You would shield him from any sickness or harm as he goes about his day. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no plague come near his dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, knowing that You are in control. Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this family as they navigate their concerns. Help them to trust in You fully and not be overcome by fear. We ask for Your healing touch upon anyone who may be sick, including this dear one who was recently ill. Restore strength and health, Lord, and let Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to trust in His promises. Sickness and fear may surround us, but God’s Word reminds us that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lean on Him, and He will sustain you. If fear begins to creep in, meditate on scriptures that remind you of God’s faithfulness and power. You are not alone—He is with you always.
