Should I still pray for the person who betrayed me as if I were no one. They promised me incident that they would come for me from this women's shelter on the morrow Oct 3rd. In my heart of hearts I can not believe how I was betrayed and faithful maybe foolishly still hope they come through. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen

We hear the deep pain in your heart and we grieve with you over this betrayal and the feeling of being treated as if you were no one. Please know you are not no one to God. You are precious and seen and valued by Him, even when a person who promised to be there for you has broken that promise. The Lord is close to you in this women's shelter and He sees your tears and your faithful hope.

You ask if you should still pray for the person who betrayed you, and we want to tell you that your desire to pray is not foolish at all, it is Christlike and obedient. Jesus tells us But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44 and also Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:28. Praying for those who hurt us does not mean what they did was right or that trust is automatically restored, it means we release them to God and ask Him to work in their hearts. We are also told Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. So we can forgive and pray while still leaving justice and conviction in God’s hands.

We also understand how hard it is to hold hope for tomorrow, October 3rd, while fearing another disappointment. It is not foolish to hope, but we encourage you to place your ultimate hope not in what this person will or will not do, but in the Lord who will never betray you. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him Psalm 62:5. Whether this person comes or does not come, God remains your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. We encourage you also in wisdom to share your situation with the caring staff at the shelter and to have a plan for your safety and care regardless of what this person chooses to do, for wisdom and protection are also gifts from God.

We are thankful you prayed in Jesus’ name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Your coming to God through Jesus is the right and beautiful foundation for healing.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up our dear sister to You in Jesus’ name. You see her hurt and the sting of being betrayed after a promise was made to come for her. Comfort her heart that feels so devalued, and remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved by You. We ask that You heal her broken heart, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and You are near to those who have a broken heart, and save those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Give her peace tonight and strength for tomorrow. If it is Your will, move upon the heart of the one who made this promise to act with truth and faithfulness, and bring conviction where repentance is needed. If that person does not come, we ask that You make Your presence and provision so real to her that she knows she is not abandoned or alone, for You have said Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you Isaiah 41:10. Provide for her needs, surround her with safe and godly support in this shelter, and guide her next steps. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven us, to pray with grace while also guarding her heart with wisdom Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23. Let her hope rest in You and in Your plans for her, for we know Your thoughts are of peace and not of evil, to give her hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Advocate. Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying for this person, not out of obligation alone but as an act of entrusting them to God, while also allowing the Lord to guard and heal your own heart. Keep bringing your disappointment and your hope to Him honestly. He will not betray your trust. Even if people fail, God is faithful and He will walk with you through whatever tomorrow brings.

We hear how painful this night of waiting must be, holding both betrayal and hope at the same time in the shelter. When someone promises to come for you tomorrow and you have already felt dismissed as if you were no one, it is understandable to feel hurt, confused, and to wonder if hoping is foolish. It is not foolish to hope, and it is not wrong to pray for the one who hurt you.

Praying for them does not mean pretending the hurt did not happen or that trust is automatically restored. Sometimes we choose to pray for someone because we want to do what is right before God, even while our feelings are still raw and need more time to heal. Both can be true at once.

Since tomorrow feels so uncertain, we encourage you to let someone there at the shelter know about the plan for October 3rd. Ask an advocate or staff member to walk with you through what will happen whether that person comes or not, so you have support and a safe next step either way and are not waiting alone.

We are holding you in prayer.

Father, we lift our sister to You tonight in her loneliness and disappointment. Give her peace as she waits, wisdom for tomorrow, and the comfort of knowing she is seen and valued by You. Guard her heart, provide for her safety and needs, and lead her step by step. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard, and the Lord sees you in this place of shelter and waiting, with a heart wounded by betrayal and yet still hoping against hope for the morrow.

You ask, should you still pray for the one who has treated you as if you were no one. The answer of Scripture is yes, you should. Our Lord Jesus, who Himself was betrayed, teaches us to love our enemies and to pray for them that despitefully use us. To pray for one who has wounded you is not to say that the wound did not matter, nor is it to pretend that trust has not been broken. It is to do as God has done for us, to forgive even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven us.

There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. That great truth is written for such a moment as this. Forgiveness with God is not a sham forgiveness for sham sinners, but a real atonement for real sin, for great sin and for the deep pangs that sin causes. It is free, not purchased by our merit, and it comes to us for Christ's sake alone, because Jesus hung between heaven and earth to die for guilty sinners. If you have come to Him, you have this sure warrant, that for Christ's sake your own sins are forgiven, freely and eternally, and that same forgiveness is the pattern and the power for you to forgive another. He not only forgave us at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and He calls us to reflect that mercy.

Jesus knows what it is to be betrayed. One reason the betrayal was appointed was that man's sin should reach its culminating point in His death, and that He might bear the very sting of being sold for silver by one who had walked with Him. Judas saw the agony on His face and still went after his own temptation. The Lord did not turn away from that sorrow, but bore it, and from the cross prayed, Father, forgive them. When you bring your betrayer before the Lord in prayer, you bring that person before One who understands your grief perfectly.

To pray for this person does not mean you must throw away wisdom or safety. Forgiveness and trust are not the same. Forgiveness releases the debt into God's hands, it says, as one forgiven debtor to another, go your way, you are out of debt to me, and leaves vengeance with the Lord. Trust is rebuilt only where there is truth, repentance and faithfulness over time. It is right and needful to heed the counsel of those who care for you in the shelter, to keep yourself safe, and to make a plan for tomorrow whether that promise is kept or not. Do not set your whole hope upon a word that has already been broken. Set your hope upon the Lord, who will not betray you, who has forgiveness ready to bestow and who can get that forgiveness to you even when you feel far off from hope.

If this hope you cherish concerns a relationship, bring that also under the light of God's Word. The Lord's design for our good is salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and for love between a man and a woman, marriage as a lifelong covenant, with living together and the union of the body belonging within that covenant alone. We will not ask God to bless what His Word calls sin, but we will ask Him to bless you with holiness, clarity and strength to walk in His way, and to work repentance and new life in every heart concerned.

Do not wait to seek Him. There is forgiveness now, at this moment, for you and for the one who has sinned against you, if sought in penitence through Christ. Bring your own iniquities and your backslidings many, and plead His name, for His name's sake pardon your iniquity, for it is great. He will not need many sighs and tears to find forgiveness for you, for it is with Him, ready to bestow.

We are praying for you, that the Lord will keep you this night, give you wisdom for October 3rd, guard your heart from despair, and let you know the clear shining after rain that comes when the soul hears, there is forgiveness.

Our Father, for Christ's sake forgive us our sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Look upon our sister in her shelter, comfort her with Your presence, protect her from harm, and teach her to hope in You above all. Work in the heart of the one who has betrayed her, bring conviction, repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and conform all our loves and lives to Your holy will. Give peace that passes understanding, and keep her feet in Your way. In Jesus name we ask this. Amen

I sinned again. Even after I had knowledge of the holy spirit I did it deliberately for pleasure. This wasn't just any sin, this was lust.
