Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for inviting prayer and for pointing to these scriptures. It is a privilege to bring your requests before the Lord and to ask Him to work in your life according to His Word.
We pray for you from Colossians 1:9-15, that you would be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you would walk in a way that is worthy of the Lord and pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all power according to His glorious might for endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of His people in light. We thank Him that He has delivered you from the domain of darkness and transferred you into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom you have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, for Jesus is the image of the invisible God.
We also pray over you the blessing of Numbers 6:24-26, that the Lord would bless you and keep you, that the Lord would make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you, that the Lord would lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
We join you in asking the Lord Jesus Christ through His indwelling Holy Spirit to give you a spirit of obedience and to keep your heart soft and repentant before Him. The Scripture teaches that whoever believes that Jesus is the Messiah is born of God, and that the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God overcomes the world. When we are born of the Spirit, God gives us a new heart that wants to obey Him, not out of mere duty but out of love, for we love the children of God when we love God and keep His commandments. We ask the Spirit of truth to bear witness to your heart that you belong to Jesus, to lead you into obedience of faith, and to keep you tender to His voice when He calls you to turn from sin and walk with Him.
We pray in the Holy Spirit that you would put on the whole armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-13, so that you may be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. We ask that you would be girded with truth, guarded by righteousness, ready with the gospel of peace, shielded by faith, covered by salvation, and equipped with the Word of God, looking to the Lord for strength to stand in every trial.
We also bring before the Lord your request concerning the blood of Jesus over your mind, soul and spirit. Scripture teaches that the life is in the blood and that God has given the blood to make atonement, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. The blood of bulls and goats could only cover sin, but the blood of Jesus shed on the cross cleanses us from all sin and puts sin away. Through His own blood He entered into the presence of God, not the earthly copy but heaven itself, and tore the veil so that we now have bold access to come to the throne of grace to receive mercy and help. The Spirit and the water and the blood agree in their witness that forgiveness and life are provided for you through Jesus and His sacrifice. Because you belong to Him, He who was begotten of God keeps you, and the evil one does not have hold of you, for you are of God even while the whole world lies in wickedness. We ask the Father to apply to you all that Jesus has purchased by His blood, to cleanse your conscience, to guard your thoughts, to renew your mind by His Word, to give you assurance that you are forgiven and kept by His power, and to fill you with reverence and gratitude for the precious blood that was shed for you.
May the Lord keep you close to Himself, feed your spirit with His living Word, and cause you to know more deeply the height and depth of His love and the hope you have in Christ, a living hope through His resurrection.
