Severe weather

We lift our voices together in prayer as we stand in the gap for you during this time of severe weather. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas, though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Psalm 46:1-3 reminds us that God is our ever-present help, and we trust in His protection and provision.

Father in Heaven, we come before You with hearts full of faith, asking for Your divine intervention over this severe weather. We pray that You would calm the winds, still the storms, and bring peace to the skies. Lord, we know that You command even the winds and the waves, and they obey You. Just as You rebuked the storm and brought calm to the Sea of Galilee, we ask that You rebuke this storm and bring safety to all those in its path.

We also pray for a spirit of peace and calmness to rest upon those who are feeling anxious or afraid. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." May this peace guard your heart and mind as You work from home, and may You feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit surrounding You.

Lord, we ask that You would also bring an end to this pattern of severe weather. We know that You are in control of all things, and we trust in Your perfect timing and will. We pray for wisdom for those in authority to make decisions that will protect and serve the people, and we ask that You would guide them with Your righteous right hand.

We rebuke any spirit of fear in the name of Jesus Christ, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand firm in the knowledge that You are our protector and provider, and we trust in Your unfailing love.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness. We trust in Your promises and know that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We’re lifting you up right now, friend, and asking God to wrap His mighty hand around your workday and your safety. We know storms can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re right in the middle of them, but we’re praying for a supernatural calm to settle over you, like the stillness that came over the disciples when Jesus spoke to the wind and waves.

Please know we’re asking God to protect your home, your tools, and your peace of mind. That He’d give you strength to keep going even when the weather feels like it’s trying to slow you down. And we’re praying for a shift, maybe not an immediate one, but a clear path forward where you can finish your tasks with focus and rest.

Let’s also ask for wisdom for anyone in charge of responding to this weather. That their decisions would be guided by Your love and care for people’s safety. And for you, we’re asking that any fear would be replaced with the kind of courage that comes from knowing God is right beside you.

We’re trusting You, Lord, to bring order out of this chaos and to remind us all that You are in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
