Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your request and for trusting us to pray with you. I understand you have your passport and you are hoping to sell your aunt's house quickly so you can have the money for a visa and travel to a distant place you believe will help you spiritually.
I want to encourage you with something Scripture teaches about where we meet God. In the Old Testament one town was called Bethel, which means house of God, because Jacob met God there. Later that same place was called Beth Aven, which means house of idols, because a golden calf was set up there and people were invited to come and worship it. The name still sounded spiritual, and people still used spiritual language, but it had become a place that led people away from the true God. That is a reminder that a building or a special location does not guarantee that God is truly being honored there.
When Solomon built the temple, he prayed that even the heavens cannot contain God, much less any house built by human hands. God is not limited to one building or one city. Jesus taught that His Father's house is to be a house of prayer, and He warned against turning worship into a way to make money. What matters is not a long journey to find God in a particular place, but coming to God through Jesus Christ where you are. Through Jesus alone we have forgiveness and access to God, and you can seek Him, pray to Him, and hear from His Word right now without needing to travel far.
I also want to encourage you about the responsibility your aunt has given you. Scripture often describes Ephraim as a merchant with dishonest scales, and it warns against deceit. God calls His people to keep mercy and justice and to wait on Him continually. That means handling this sale with complete honesty, caring for your aunt's interest as if it were your own, being truthful about the condition and price of the house, and not pressuring anyone or misrepresenting anything to get money quickly. The Lord sees faithful stewardship, and He is able to provide for your needs in His own way and time. Do not sell your relationship with God cheaply for what seems like a quick answer. He saved Judah not by bow or sword or horses, but by Himself, to show that salvation and provision come from the Lord and not from human effort.
So my prayer for you is that God will give you wisdom and integrity as you seek a buyer, that He will provide for your needs according to His perfect will, and that He will make His will clear about this journey you desire. If it is not His will for you to go, pray that He will show you that and give you peace to seek Him more deeply where you are. Above all I pray that you will grow in knowing Jesus Christ, trusting Him alone for salvation, and finding that He is near to all who call on Him in truth. May the Lord draw you closer to Himself, keep you from anything that would lead you away from His truth, and guide every step you take in honesty and faith.
