We are glad to hear you have realized the need for God in your life and are turning to Him for guidance and forgiveness. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved. As the Bible tells us,
For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, who is Lord of all. Romans 10:12-13 WEB
nor is there any other name under heaven that is given among men, in whom we must be saved! Acts 4:12 WEB
Trusting in our own strength and being selfish is a common struggle, but it is not God's will for us. As the apostle Paul wrote:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear soul who has turned to You in repentance and need. Lord, forgive them for their past selfishness and lack of trust in You. We ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them on the path You have laid out for their life. Help them to trust in You completely, casting aside their own strength and desires, and seeking Your will above all else.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing from their pain and struggle. Give them the peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help them to be unselfish and to walk in Your light.
Thank you, Father, for Your unfailing love and forgiveness. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to walk with God, trusting in Him completely. Read His Word daily, and seek His will in all areas of your life. As you do this, you will find that He is faithful to guide, provide, and forgive.
