We join with you in bringing these urgent needs before our heavenly Father in Jesus' name, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and salvation. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 and Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6
Our hearts are moved by your compassion for your ex and for his father. We understand the urgency you feel knowing his father has very little time left and is very ill, and that your ex is suffering with a blood clot. We pray first for the healing of the soul, which is of eternal importance, and then for the healing of the body according to God's perfect will and mercy.
We also want to gently speak to the matter of this relationship. You refer to this man as your ex, which tells us this was a courtship that did not lead to marriage. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and that any courtship should be with the goal of finding a godly spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ, as we are told Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14 If there was any sexual intimacy outside of marriage in this relationship, the Bible calls that fornication and we encourage you to repent and to flee from sexual immorality as every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 We say this not to condemn you but to encourage you toward purity and wholeness as you move forward, seeking God's will for a future marriage that honors Him. Even as you pray for your ex, we encourage you to maintain godly boundaries unless the Lord clearly leads you both toward reconciliation and marriage in Him.
We are reminded that The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 and that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 This is our hope for your ex's father and for your ex, that they would confess Jesus as Lord and believe in Him while there is still time. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
We also cling to God's power to heal the body, for He forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3 and But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this father who is very ill and has little time left. Lord, have mercy on his soul. We ask that You would open his heart to the gospel, that he would see his need for a Savior, repent of his sins, and put his full trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. Draw him to Yourself right now, let him confess Jesus as Lord and believe that You raised Him from the dead, and grant him eternal life. We also ask for Your healing hand upon his body if it be Your will, to ease his suffering, to give him peace, and to show Your glory and power, knowing that You are sovereign over life and death.
We also lift up this young man suffering with a blood clot. Lord, You know his body, You formed his inward parts, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask in Jesus' name that You would dissolve this clot, restore healthy circulation, protect him from further harm, and bring complete healing. Heal him physically, but more importantly heal him spiritually, that he too would be saved and follow You with his whole heart.
We pray for the one who submitted this request. Give comfort, wisdom, and peace that surpasses understanding. Help this one to trust Your perfect timing and will, to walk in purity, and to seek first Your kingdom. Give opportunity to share the hope of Jesus lovingly and boldly with both of these souls while there is still time. We thank You that You hear our prayers when we pray in Jesus' name. We trust all these lives into Your loving and merciful hands. Amen.
