We hear your sadness and we join with you in bringing every one of these burdens before our Father God in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name we are saved and heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We thank you that you have come in Jesus name and we pray with you now.
We lift up your friendship and the hurt you have felt from words spoken. The tongue has great power and we know how deep unkind words can wound. Death and life are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18:21 and we are called to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. We pray for your friend from the program, that God would soften her heart and guard her mouth, that she would keep her promise and not speak about you behind your back or on the phone to others or to her mother, and that anger and gossip would be replaced with kindness and peace. We pray that the Lord would heal this friendship if it is His will and give you both grace to forgive as Christ forgave us. We pray also for your own heart, that you would not be overwhelmed by anxiety, for we know the Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. We ask Him to comfort you and to help you love even those who hurt you, as Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us Matthew 5:44.
We bring your body before the Lord for healing and help. We pray for your allergies, the runny nose and sore throat that will not relent, and for your gums and dentures that cause you pain, and for the recurring yeast infections that bring discomfort. We pray that God would guide you to the right allergist and dermatologist appointments, that you would be able to make them and to obtain the proper medicine you need, and that He would bring relief and healing. Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3 and we claim the promise But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord Jeremiah 30:17. We also pray for wisdom for your doctors and for you to steward your body well, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God, and you are not your own, for you were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
We lift up your cousin who has cancer. Our hearts ache with you at the thought of losing her and we pray with great earnestness for her. We ask the Lord to lay His healing hand upon her, to comfort her and her family, and if it be His will to restore her to health. The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15 and we know He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We pray you would trust Him even in this very hard place, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.
We also bring the smaller cares that still weigh on you, because God cares about all that concerns you. You have lost your pink underwear, your Annabelle costume dresses and your Halloween pony holder and bows, and you are anxious about rearranging your rooms and finding everything in both rooms. We pray that God in His kindness would help you find what is lost and give you peace and order as you rearrange your room in a stress free and manageable way. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also gently encourage you to consider what honors the Lord in what we wear and celebrate, for we are called to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8 and to abstain from every form of evil 1 Thessalonians 5:22. Some costumes like Annabelle glorify darkness and fear, and we encourage you to seek what is pure and gives light, while we still pray for your needs with compassion.
We pray for your room and your relationship with your parents. We ask that your mom and dad would speak with grace and encouragement about your room rather than negativity, and that you would have patience and honor toward them as well. We pray for calm and cooperation in your home.
We lift up your desire to lose weight and to not keep gaining, to look thinner and not heavier. We pray God would help you to care for your body with healthy habits, not out of vanity but out of stewardship, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God 1 Corinthians 10:31. We ask Him to give you strength, discipline and contentment in Him, and to see yourself as fearfully and wonderfully made.
We pray for your mother who fell and who struggles with drinking. We ask for healing for her body from the fall and for deliverance from alcohol. Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler, whoever is led astray by them is not wise Proverbs 20:1 and do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18. We pray the Lord would free her from this bondage, protect her from harm, and surround her with support and truth, and that you would be given wisdom to love her well while not enabling what harms her. We pray God would be your strength, for He says Fear not, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
Father, we bring all of these requests together before Your throne in Jesus name. You know every detail, every ache, every lost item, every worry about a friend, every fear for a cousin and a mother. We ask for healing, for peace, for reconciliation, for provision for appointments and medicine, for order in the home, for health in body and spirit, and for freedom from anxiety. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We thank You that You hear us and we trust Your perfect will and timing. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
