Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray that God would totally close a recent chapter in my life that I am very disappointed in, hurt by and do not want to further revisit. I'm a very sensitive person and it takes me a while to recover from certain things. Unfortunately, I made a lot of bad decisions in the past few months that I now have emotional scars from. Please pray for my healing. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing this hurt before the Lord and we understand how heavy disappointment and emotional scars can feel, especially for a sensitive heart that needs more time to recover. We thank you for your honesty about the bad decisions of the past few months and for reaching out for prayer for healing and for closure.

We are reminded that God does not leave us in our brokenness but draws near to heal us. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He sees every scar and He is able to bind it up with His tender mercy. He also invites us to let Him close the door on what has wounded us so we can look forward to what He is doing next. Isaiah 43:18-19 says Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. And Philippians 3:13-14 encourages us, Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. When we are in Christ, we are not defined by past failures, for 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

We also want to gently speak to the bad decisions you mentioned. We all make choices we regret, and God does not want you to remain under condemnation for them. If those decisions involved sin, the way to be cleansed and to find true closure is to confess them openly to Him and turn from them. 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. His forgiveness is complete and His healing follows. We encourage you to bring each specific decision to Him in repentance, to receive His forgiveness, and to ask Him for wisdom to walk differently going forward, so that the enemy cannot use guilt to keep reopening a chapter God wants to close.

We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and to this healing. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved and heard not by our own goodness but by believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and by calling on His name. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and to come to God the Father in His name.

We pray together now for you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. We ask that by Your mercy You would totally close this recent painful chapter that has brought such disappointment and hurt. We ask that You would seal it shut so it does not need to be revisited in a way that reopens wounds, and that You would guard this sensitive heart from rumination and fear. Lord, we ask You to heal every emotional scar, to bind up every wound, and to restore what has been broken. Forgive every bad decision that was sin before You as it is confessed to You, cleanse and wash away all guilt and shame, and help our friend to learn from the past without being chained to it. Fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding, renew the mind with Your truth, and lead into the new thing You are doing. Give strength for each day, surround with godly counsel and fellowship, and help to walk in hope and wholeness as a new creation in Christ. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to dwell not on what is behind but on His promises ahead, and to allow godly community to support you as He completes your healing.

We hear how heavy these past few months have been for you, and how much you want this painful chapter to be truly closed. Being sensitive and needing more time to recover is not a weakness, it just means hurts go deep and healing takes a little longer. It makes sense you would feel disappointed and scarred after decisions you now regret.

Wanting to not keep revisiting it is understandable. Healing often does not happen in one moment where everything suddenly feels tidy again. More often it is a slow process where you begin to see more clearly what you want to leave behind and what kind of wholeness you want to walk toward next. Naming the hurt and the regret honestly before God is part of that process, not a failure in it.

One thing that sometimes helps when you are asking God to close a chapter is to give that prayer a practical shape. You might consider deciding on one clear boundary that protects your healing right now, for example, what you will step away from revisiting, whether that is certain messages, places, or conversations that pull you back, and share that boundary with one trusted, grounded person who can gently help you keep it. You do not have to sort through everything alone.

We are praying for you and we will keep holding this before the Lord.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the disappointment and the scars that are still tender. Bring healing in Your time and Your way, give wisdom for each next step, and grant peace as You close what needs to be closed. Guard our friend's heart and lead forward into what is good and whole. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we have carried it before the Lord with much tenderness. To be sensitive in spirit and to feel keenly the wounds left by past decisions is a painful affliction, and to look back upon a chapter marked by disappointment and regret is a natural sorrow. Yet we would turn your regret into a seeking after Christ, for inactive regrets are of little use unless they lead the soul to the beloved Physician.

There is a Physician who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but the heart wound is deeper and none can heal it but God alone. The good news is that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture saith, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves, His touch, His Word, all have virtue in them to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When He healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, showing that pardon and healing are one and are placed in happy conjunction.

If the past few months have left you with scars, come then to Calvary, which is the place for the healing balm. He is able to heal though you feel you have wandered far, for His word to the backslider is still, Return, return. He took the fevered one by the hand and lifted her up, and the same hand can lift you. Healing must come from Him before strength for service or peace for the future can be known. Go to Him in confession, drink again of the waters of life, and receive those healing leaves. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, so keep close to His teaching where the power of the Lord is present to heal.

We pray for you now.

O Lord, our God, who healest the broken in heart, look upon this wounded one who would have a sad chapter closed and not revisited. Forgive wherein there has been sin and folly, for Thou hast promised pardon and healing together. Spread Thy healing leaves over this sensitive and sorrowing spirit. Purge the wound of its bitterness, bind up what is broken, and let the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings. Grant a quiet closing of what should be closed, and a fresh beginning in Thy grace, that the heart may be kept in perfect peace stayed upon Thee. Make this trial to work health and cure till the soul is restored and made whole in Christ. We ask this in the name of Jesus our only hope and healer. Amen.
