Please pray that God would totally close a recent chapter in my life that I am very disappointed in, hurt by and do not want to further revisit. I'm a very sensitive person and it takes me a while to recover from certain things. Unfortunately, I made a lot of bad decisions in the past few months that I now have emotional scars from. Please pray for my healing. Thank you.

We join you in bringing this hurt and disappointment before the Lord, and we thank you for sharing so honestly with us. We understand what it is to be sensitive and to feel things deeply, and to carry emotional scars from decisions we wish we could undo. We want you to know that God sees your pain and He cares tenderly for you, for Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
We hear that you want God to totally close this recent chapter and that you do not want to revisit it. God is able to do that. He does not want you to remain trapped in regret or continually reopening what He wants to heal. Isaiah 43:18-19 says Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it springs out. Don't you know it. And 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Philippians 3:13-14 also encourages us, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We gently and lovingly encourage you to bring those decisions fully before the Lord in confession and repentance, not to condemn you but to set you free. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God does not just forgive, He cleanses and restores. Even the scars and the time that feels wasted, He can redeem, for Joel 2:25 says I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, and Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Healing for a sensitive heart often takes time, and that is okay. We encourage you to walk daily with Him in prayer, in His Word, and in fellowship with mature believers who can counsel you, and to guard your heart from revisiting what God is closing.

Your request has been heard and brought before the Lord with tenderness and hope. You speak of disappointment and hurt, of a chapter you would gladly see closed, and of emotional scars that linger because your heart feels things deeply. Be assured that the God who takes notice of beggars as well as queens takes notice of you, and there is healing to be found in Him.
Scripture declares, There is forgiveness with Him. Not a partial or uncertain forgiveness, but a divine forgiveness, complete and eternal. As soon as a penitent sinner trusts in his crucified God, all his sins are forgiven, whether past, present, or to come. The record of debt is nailed to the Cross, the tally is destroyed, and the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, for He never plays fast and loose with men. If you tremble and shake for fear and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, hear this whisper that drives away despair, There is forgiveness. Where God draws no limit, do not draw any. Whatever your life has been until now, however many bad decisions lie behind you, there is forgiveness with God through Jesus Christ His Son, and that forgiveness is to be had now.
And with forgiveness comes healing. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His very leaves, His most gentle touches, have virtue to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. You need not heal yourself, nor stir your soul to some intense anguish to earn His favor. Repentance itself is His gift. When a man sees that he is forgiven, he says, How can I live any longer in sin, and he turns from his evil ways to live unto Him who has loved him.
We pray for you now, that the Lord would grant you this sure forgiveness through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, that He would close this painful chapter according to His wisdom and mercy, and that He would not allow you to be held in bondage to revisit what should be left at the foot of the Cross. We ask that He would pour the healing virtue of Christ into your wounded spirit, bind up your scars, quiet your sensitive heart with His peace, and teach you to walk in newness of life, loathing what is past and cleaving to Him who delights to show mercy.
