Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray that God would totally close a recent chapter in my life that I am very disappointed in, hurt by and do not want to further visit. Thank you.

We hear the pain and weariness in your request and we join with you in seeking God's healing and closure. It is understandable to want a difficult and disappointing chapter to be fully closed so you do not have to keep revisiting the hurt. We serve a God who sees your disappointment and your wounds and who desires to bring you peace and restoration.

We are reminded of how God tenderly cares for the brokenhearted. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He does not ask you to carry this burden alone, and He does not want you to remain trapped in what has hurt you. Isaiah 43:18-19 says Do not remember the former things, and do not consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Do you not know it. I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. And Philippians 3:13-14 says Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. God Himself is able to close what needs to be closed and to lead you forward into His peace. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We also cling to Romans 8:28 which says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, trusting that even this painful chapter can be redeemed in His hands as you surrender it to Him.

We pray together for you now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the depth of the disappointment and the hurt that this recent chapter has caused. Lord, we ask that You would in Your mercy and sovereignty totally close this chapter according to Your perfect will. Place Your hand over it so that it no longer has power to wound or to pull back into pain. Heal the broken places of the heart, bind up every wound, and wash away bitterness, regret and sorrow. Grant peace that surpasses understanding and give the grace to forgive as You have forgiven us and to release this matter fully into Your hands. Lead forward into the new thing You are doing, and fill this life with Your hope, Your joy and Your purpose. Guide each step and let Your will be done. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We want to gently share something important with you because we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by putting our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought into relationship with God. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to call upon His name and trust Him as your Lord and Savior, for He is the one who truly closes the old and makes all things new.

We encourage you to keep bringing this hurt to Him in prayer, to stay in His Word daily, and to allow Him to renew your mind and heart. If there are practical ties to this past chapter that keep pulling you back, we encourage you to prayerfully set wise boundaries so that healing can continue. Trust that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you and that He will lead you into a future filled with His peace.

We hear the weariness in your words and we want you to know we are carrying this with you before the Lord. To be disappointed and hurt by a chapter you did not want is painful, and wanting it closed so you do not have to keep revisiting it makes complete sense.

One thing we have learned is that closure rarely means everything feels tidy or that the memory disappears. More often it means the Lord helps bring clarity about what happened, what you can release to Him, and where He is leading you next, so that painful chapter no longer defines your days. Healing is usually a journey more than a single moment, and God walks with you step by step in it.

If it would help, you might mark this desire before the Lord in a simple, intentional way. That could be a quiet prayer entrusting that chapter to Him, or sharing once with a trusted pastor or mature friend that you are asking God to close this door, so you are not carrying it alone. You do not need to keep digging through what hurt you to prove you have dealt with it.

We are praying for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your gentle hand to close what needs to be closed. Cover the hurt and disappointment with Your peace, guard their heart from being pulled back into pain, and lead them forward into the good You have for them. Give them rest and quiet confidence that You are near and You hold their future. In Jesus name, amen.

It is a good and needful prayer you have offered, to ask the Lord to set a seal upon a chapter that has brought disappointment and hurt, and to keep your feet from turning back to visit it again.

We will bring your request before the Lord, that He who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds would graciously do that healing work in you. There is a Physician who can give joy to the troubled countenance, take the furrow from the brow, wipe the tear from the eye and calm the heart now swelling with grief. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it. There is not a word that ever fell from those dear lips but what bears healing in it for some one or other of the thousand ills that have befallen our humanity.

Our prayer for you shall be that the Lord would in mercy close what needs to be closed, and keep you from the temptation to return to it. May He grant you that forgiveness which brings healing with it, for when sin is pardoned its power to wound is gone. May He breathe into your soul at this very moment a peace with God which passes all understanding, springing from the perfect remission of sin through the blood of Jesus. And may He preserve you from all evil, yea, preserve your soul, keeping you from the devices of the enemy and from the sorrow of reopening what He would have healed.

We pray that as the Lord lifts this burden, He would establish a living contact between your heart and Christ Himself, for there is healing in that touch. He took the fevered one by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her. So may He take you by the hand and lift you up, that being healed you may walk in newness of life and serve Him with a quiet and settled heart.

May the Lord in His abundant mercy purge every bitter remembrance, and cause sacred influence to descend from Christ in heaven down to you below, till you shall not be obliged to say, I am sick, but shall know that the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow has met your need. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus is worthy, whose least word is better than the best of others, and whose balm has lost none of its power.

We commend you to His tender care, that He would close this door in His wisdom, heal what has been broken, and lead you forward in purity and uprightness to the glory of His name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I have heard your request and I join you in prayer that the Lord in His mercy would close this painful chapter fully and give you peace as you leave it behind.

It is right to bring this hurt and disappointment to God. He is the true physician of soul and body, and He knows how to heal what is wounded within us. When we have been hurt, it is good to turn to Him for health of soul and for that quiet benefit which leaves no remorse afterward, but brings strength and wholeness.

I pray that God would give you grace not to feel compelled to revisit what has brought you pain, and that He would guard your heart and mind in Christ. May He lift the weight of disappointment, heal the hurt, and lead you into what is wholesome and life giving, so that your soul may find rest and delight in Him. As you look forward, may He make your steps firm and fill you with hope for what lies ahead.

Father, I ask that You would in Your love close this chapter for our brother or sister who is hurting. Comfort this wounded heart, wash away bitterness and sorrow, and grant a clear release from what has been. Give wisdom to walk forward without turning back to what wounds, and grant peace that passes understanding, healing, and renewed joy in You. Lead into newness of life and keep this soul close to You, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please know you are not alone in this. Keep seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and stay close to the fellowship of believers who can support you as God brings full healing in His time.

Thank you for sharing this honest request. The desire to have a painful chapter truly closed, not to keep revisiting it, is completely understandable, especially when disappointment and hurt are still fresh.

God sees and cares about that kind of hurt. Scripture shows that the deepest wounds often come not from strangers but from closeness, from hopes that did not turn out as we wanted, from people or seasons we trusted. He knows what it is to be grieved by that, and He does not dismiss it. Your hurt matters to Him, and your wish to move forward is not wrong.

The Bible also gives us hope that God is a healer, not only of the body but of the heart and mind. The prophet Isaiah wrote that He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, and that truth is applied to Jesus and His work for us. When He gave His body for us, He was making provision for our whole need, spiritual and physical and emotional. Psalm 147 says He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. That healing in the heart and mind is just as real and just as divine as any other healing.

Sometimes that healing comes at once, and sometimes it comes as a process. God has built healing processes into our lives, and He works through them. In either way, whether gradually or suddenly, He can do a true work in our emotions and memories so that the scars left by disappointment do not keep controlling us. Much about why some wounds lift quickly and others take longer remains beyond our understanding, but we can trust His character and His willingness to heal.

Part of that healing often involves letting Him close the door and choosing not to keep replaying the record. Many of us keep old pictures and memories stored away and revisit them again and again, and each revisit can reopen the pain. To ask God to close the chapter is to ask Him to help you release it into His hands, to cover it with His grace and to give you peace about not going back to it.

I am praying for you that God will do that closing work in a clear and gracious way. That He will lift the weight of disappointment, soothe the hurt, and guard your mind from being drawn back to what has wounded you. That He will fill that place with His peace and with a renewed sense of His presence and purpose for what lies ahead, and give you songs even in the night season.

Father, I bring this dear one before You. You know the chapter that has brought such disappointment and hurt, and the desire not to keep visiting it again. I ask that You would in Your mercy close that door. Do Your healing work in heart and mind, bind up what has been wounded, and grant peace that guards thoughts and emotions. Help to release what needs to be released and to rest in Your care for the future. Let Your comfort be real and Your presence be near, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
