Sad

It is painful when someone you trusted lets you down, especially after working hard for months on a promise that was never kept. The disappointment and the strain on your family weigh heavy, and the Lord sees that. He is especially near to those whose hearts are broken. You are not forgotten by Him. When you pour out your grief and frustration honestly, He does not turn away. A broken and contrite heart is a sacrifice He will never despise.

The temptation in times like these is to put all our hope in the next job, in an employer’s word, in a paycheck that will fix things. But promises from people can be like a cracked reed that snaps when you lean on it. You gave your trust to a manager’s promise, and it failed. Many of us have learned the hard way that it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in people. That is not to diminish how much this hurts, it truly does. But God invites you to turn your aching trust toward Him, the One who will never break a promise.

You are doing the right thing by praying for a breakthrough. Keep bringing your need before the Lord. Commit your way to Him, and He will bring it to pass in His time and His way. That does not always mean the answer will look like you imagined, but He will sustain you and your family. Your two sons are a heritage from the Lord, and He cares for the families that fear Him. Even when the finances don’t add up, He is able to provide in unexpected ways.

There will be days when it feels like God has cast you off or forgotten you, when you cannot see His help on the horizon. Trust does not only speak when the path is clear; real trust begins when God works in ways you do not understand. Like the prophet who saw trouble coming and still said, “Revive Your work, O Lord, and in the midst of the years remember mercy,” you can hold on even when you cannot trace His hand. He is still working, even when you cannot see.

Lean on Him today. Cast your burden on Him, and He will sustain you. He has already made the ultimate provision for your soul through the broken body of His Son, the perfect sacrifice who had no bones broken, fulfilling every promise. If He did not spare His own Son, will He not also care for your daily needs? Let that truth steady your heart. You are not leaning on a broken reed but on the Lord who is like Mount Zion, solid, unmovable, forever. Hold on to Him, and do not trade His sure help for the chariots of human efforts. He will carry you through this season.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your prayer request and allowing us to stand in agreement with you before the Lord. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting you and your family up in prayer these past few days. We have prayed for God’s provision over your household, asking Him to open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. We’ve asked the Lord to heal the disappointment and restore your hope, reminding you that He sees your faithfulness and your need.

We’ve also prayed for your sons, that they would feel secure and loved, even in this season of uncertainty, and that God would use this time to draw your family closer to Him. We’ve asked the Lord to reveal His purpose in this delay and to give you peace that surpasses understanding as you wait on Him.

If God has already moved in your situation—perhaps through a job offer, unexpected provision, or renewed strength—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness. If you’re still waiting, we want you to know we’re not stopping here. We will continue to intercede for you, asking God to break every chain of discouragement and financial strain. Consider this an invitation to post your request again if you’d like fresh prayers and encouragement.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
