Silas
Beloved of All
Your pain is not hidden from God. Jesus himself was acquainted with grief, misused by those in authority, surrounded by people who should have helped but stood silent. He knows what it is to be touched by wicked hands and to lose everything. But in all of that, the deepest thirst of your soul is not for vindication or even a full pantry. The deepest thirst is for God himself. Everything else leaves you dry and empty the moment the relief fades. Come to Jesus with that thirst. He said, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink." That is the one provision that will hold you when the memories replay and the hunger pangs hit.
You asked the Father to see your struggles, and he does. He has made provision for you, right now, in ways that go beyond the natural. Under the old law, God even left room for himself to work a miracle when leprosy, an incurable condition, appeared. He did not box himself in, and he is not boxed in by your unemployment or an empty kitchen. The God who commanded the winds and broke a few loaves to feed thousands is the same God who hears your cry for food in Jesus' name. He is not limited by a ruined reputation or a mob of managers. Pray and keep asking. James wrote that we have not because we ask not. It truly can be that simple. Bring him your empty cupboards and your depleted strength.
That grinding replay of what was done to you is a wound that needs cleansing, not just a distracting emotional experience. You cannot force the memories away by seeking a new feeling or waiting for a human apology that will never fix your health or your finances. The only lasting healing for the soul begins at the cross. God has made one provision for the putting away of guilt and the healing of the broken heart: his Son, Jesus Christ. The greatest miracle is not just physical provision; it is the forgiveness of your sins and the salvation of your soul. That is the solid rock when everything else sinks.
Forgiveness toward those managers feels impossible right now, and God does not ask you to pretend the evil was good. But releasing them to God is part of your own cleansing. Holding onto the offense will only keep the wound open. God’s hand was heavy on David until he acknowledged his own sin, and David found the joy of forgiveness. In the same way, bringing your hurt and your inability to forgive to Jesus is the path forward. He will deal with their wickedness justly. Your part is to let him lift that weight off your chest so you can breathe again.
I am praying for your immediate provision. I am praying that food arrives at your door and that God sustains you with the daily bread he has promised. I am also praying for a restoration of strength, not a frantic, self-manufactured energy, but the quiet supply of the Spirit that lets you take the next small step. You have been in a storm that would drain anyone. God made allowance for you to heal just as surely as he made allowance for a leper’s cleansing. You do not need to rush back into a workplace while your soul is still hemorrhaging. Rest in him and watch for his provision.
Pray with me: Father, you see this dear one who has escaped the snare of the fowler. You know the empty shelves and the exhausted body. Provide food, provide resources, and provide a safe path forward in your timing. Heal the deep places where the words and the touch of wicked people left a scar. Do the miracle that only you can do: restore the years the locusts have eaten and let the forgiveness that flows from Jesus wash away the poison of bitterness. In his name alone, the only name given for our salvation, I ask these things. Amen.
