We lift your father before the Lord with you and ask the great Physician to have mercy on him in this long season of suffering. We pray that Christ, who led captivity captive and who came to bring deliverance and healing, would lay His hand upon your father. We ask God to heal what is broken after the stroke and surgery, to restore movement, to steady his brain and nerves, to regulate his blood pressure and all his vital signs, and to give back strength to eat and to speak and to walk as before. We ask Him to restore his senses and reflexes, to cure infection, to calm seizures, to heal the bedsores that have not closed, and to grant complete recovery according to His wise and loving will.
We also pray for the doctors, nurses, therapists and all who care for him, that God would give them wisdom, skill, compassion and steady hands as they continue the work of rehabilitation. We ask the Father to forgive sins through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and to pour out His mercy, love and protection upon your whole family as you seek Him.
For your home and your family we pray that the Lord would sanctify your house by His presence and keep you in perfect peace. Scripture teaches that Christ is strong and mighty in battle and that His power is greater than all darkness, so we do not look to curses or witchcraft as having power over those who belong to Him, but we look to Christ Himself. We ask Him to guard your family from all evil and fear, to drive out anxiety, and to fill your home with His light, His Word and His peace.
We pray also for you and all your family members in this difficult trial, that God would keep you united, strengthen you day by day, deepen your faith as you hear and hold fast to His Word, and give you endurance and hope. Even as healing often comes slowly, through many prayers and much care, we encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, in thanksgiving, and in hearing the Scriptures, trusting that God works for your good and for His glory whether He restores health now or sustains you through continued weakness.
May the Lord hear your cry, show His mercy to your father, and grant to your family comfort, unity and peace in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Savior.
