Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer for your father and your family is received with care and compassion, and it is clear how deeply you love him and how heavy this season has been for all of you.
What you have asked reminds us of who Jesus is. He said that anyone who has seen Him has seen the Father, because He and the Father are one and He does the works of the Father. The words He spoke and the works He did were not His own alone but the Father dwelling in Him doing the work. One of those works is the healing of the sick and the lifting up of those who have fallen and the mending of broken lives. When we see Jesus have compassion on the suffering, heal bodies, and restore strength, we are seeing the very heart of the Father toward us in our need. That is the confidence with which we can bring your father before Him.
We join you in praying to the Father in the name of Jesus for your father. We ask the Father, in His mercy and power, to touch what only He can touch, to ease the effects of the stroke, to restore movement and reflexes and senses, and to grant again the ability to eat and to speak and to walk according to His gracious will. We pray that He would steady blood pressure and all vital signs, bring healing to infection, calm seizures, and bring healing to the bed sores that have not yet healed. We pray for the doctors, nurses, therapists and all who care for him, that God would give them wisdom and skill and steadiness of hand as they work for his recovery.
We also pray with you for forgiveness and mercy. Scripture teaches that no one knows the Father except through the Son, and that the Father has given all judgment to the Son so that all may honor the Son as they honor the Father. Forgiveness of sins and peace with God come only through Jesus Christ, who came from the Father and made the way for us to come directly to the Father in His name. We do not need another mediator, because Jesus Himself has opened the way, and the Father Himself loves you because you have loved Jesus and believed that He came from God. So we ask the Holy Father to keep you and your family in His name, to cover you with His mercy, and to draw each of you into deeper trust in Christ as your Savior and Lord.
For you and your household in this long valley, we pray for what God promises to those who wait on Him. Blessed is the person whose strength is in the Lord. When such a person passes through a valley of weeping, God makes that very place a spring of refreshment, and they go from strength to strength as they look to Him. May the Lord give you unity where there is strain, strength where there is weariness, faith where there is fear, and a peace that guards your hearts even while you wait.
Concerning your desire for your home to be sanctified and protected from any curse or witchcraft or dark power, be at peace in Christ. The Scripture shows that greater is Christ and His authority than any power of darkness, and no curse can separate those who belong to Jesus from the love of God. Our safety is not in rituals or in fearing those powers, but in belonging to Him and asking the Father to keep us. We pray that the Lord would sanctify your home by His presence, fill it with His light and truth, and guard your family from evil, giving you freedom from fear and a settled trust in His sovereign care.
May the Lord hear and answer according to His perfect wisdom and love, and may you know His nearness each day as you call upon Him in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
