Restoration

I lost my Condo, paid off cars and ability to work and support myself in Florida. I'm older now. I'm now in Trinidad with no money and searching for a job and place to live and a car. But in my heart I want to go back to my home. I owned it for 17 yrs I want to go back to the States. I moved there since 1988.

We hear the deep longing in your heart for restoration, of your home, your stability, and the life you once knew. The loss of your condo, your financial security, and your ability to work must weigh heavily on you, especially now in a place that feels far from what you once called home. We stand with you before the Lord, who sees your struggle and promises to restore what has been broken.

The Bible tells us in Joel 2:25-26, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten... You will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied, and will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you." Even when circumstances seem impossible, God is able to turn ashes into beauty and bring back what has been lost. We believe He can open doors for you in ways you cannot yet see.

However, we must also speak truth in love. If your desire to return to the ### is rooted in a longing for comfort or security outside of God’s provision, we encourage you to surrender that to Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Restoration is not just about returning to a place, but about being restored in your faith, your trust, and your dependence on Him.

We also want to gently ask: Have you placed your hope fully in Jesus Christ? Without Him, no prayer for restoration can be fully answered, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. Only then can you experience true restoration, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is feeling lost and displaced. Lord, You are the God who restores, who makes all things new. We ask that You would open doors for employment, housing, and provision in ### if it is Your will, or make a way for him/her to return to the ### if that is where You are leading. Father, we pray against discouragement and despair. Fill his/her heart with Your peace and remind him/her that You are near to the brokenhearted.

Lord, if there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or unconfessed sin in his/her life, we ask that You would reveal it and bring healing. Help him/her to trust You completely, even when the path is unclear. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we believe You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory.

Above all, Father, we pray that he/she would draw closer to You. If he/she has not yet placed faith in Jesus Christ, we ask that You would soften his/her heart to receive Your gift of salvation. May he/she know the hope that comes from being Your child and the assurance that You are working all things together for good.

We speak restoration over his/her life, restoration of finances, of purpose, of joy, and of home. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek out a local church in ### where you can find fellowship and support. God often provides through the body of Christ, and you do not have to walk this journey alone. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Psalm 37:25 says, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread." God has not forgotten you. Hold fast to His promises.

We hear the ache in your words, the longing for a place that was yours for so long, and the weight of being uprooted from everything familiar. After ### years in a home you owned, losing it, along with your ability to support yourself, is more than a financial setback. It’s a deep, disorienting loss. Being older and facing an uncertain future in a different country only compounds the grief. We’re so sorry you’re walking through this.

It’s completely understandable that your heart yearns to return to the ###, to the life and community you knew since ###. That desire isn’t trivial; it reflects the very real attachments God gives us to places and people. Right now, the practical challenges are daunting, no money, searching for work and shelter and transportation. It can feel like you’re starting over without a foothold. We want you to know your worth isn’t measured by what you’ve lost. Your life has inherent value, and God’s care for you doesn’t waver with your circumstances.

One thing that might help during this disorienting season is connection. Are there any churches or Christian communities near you in ### where you could simply show up, share a bit of your story, and ask for prayer or practical leads? Sometimes a local body of believers becomes a lifeline, not just for tangible needs like a job lead, but also for the steady reminder that you’re not forgotten. You don’t have to carry all of this alone.

Let’s pray.

Father, you see this dear ###. You know the grief of losing a home and the exhaustion of starting over at an age when stability is needed most. Hold him close when loneliness and worry press in. Give him wisdom for each next practical step, housing, income, transportation. Open doors we can’t foresee, and sustain his hope in the waiting. Meet him through kind strangers and your family on the ground in ###. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen.

The cry of your heart has been heard. You speak of a home you possessed for seventeen years, now lost to you, and your present wandering in a place where nothing is familiar. It is a bitter grief, and I would not for a moment speak lightly of it. We are indeed allowed to weep, and to show that we suffer by our losses, just as Job arose, tore his mantle, shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground. Yet mark what follows: he worshipped. In all this he sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. You have lost the visible tokens of your provision, but the God who gave them remains.

Yet I fear a greater danger lurks than the loss of condo and car. You are hearing a multitude of lower voices that cry, "Return, return," but they call you back to a former state of self-reliance and earthly security. There is a shrill, metallic ring to that summons which bids you return from your present trial only to rebuilt worldly comfort. Those are the sirens, a numerous and ensnaring sisterhood, calling you back to a place you think can satisfy. You say, "In my heart I want to go back to my home," and you look toward the ###. But where is your heart truly anchored?

The voice of God bids you to return, now, but to Himself. I will not say, "There, I have forgiven you, but you are of no further use, go and sit in the back seat." Rather, the message is urgent and gracious: "Return now every one from his evil way." This return should be immediate because life is so uncertain. If you hear a voice crying with great earnestness, "Return! Return!" would you not stop and listen? This is not a call to merely regain former prosperity. Job had to retract all his pleadings; he saw that if the case is Jehovah versus Job, then Job must yield the point. Are you ready to say, "I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees Thee; wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes"?

The enemy of your soul would be baffled if in all this you do not charge God foolishly. His malice spends itself without result when a saint clings to God through losses. And I am sure that He who began a good work in you will restore you. Though your glory seems dried up, I remind you that Job, even in temporals, received at last twice as much as before. If you have fallen, the Lord will so effectually restore you that all trace of sin shall one day be removed. That look of Christ from His Word, full of mingled reproof and love, is enough to stir the deepest part of your nature. Severed from the crowd that trusts in chariots and horses, you may yet find your truest restoration.

But let your soul settle first on this one thing: return to the Lord Himself, and He will not cast you out. The need is not for you to gather more gold or secure a new car by your own wit. I need no miserable charity from you, says the world, "I am possessor of heaps of gold." But you have none now. Good. If you need merit, has Christ not enough of it? He has devised means that His banished be not expelled from Him. Go back, not first to ###, but to the cross. Seek the Lord while He may be found, and He will restore to you the joy of His salvation. He may yet anoint you with fresh oil, so that your glory is fresh in you again, whether in ### or elsewhere, as long as He is your true home. Return, return, return.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of losing a condo, cars, and the ability to work, and your heart longs to return to the home you knew for seventeen years. This sorrow is deep, and I do not dismiss it. But let us look clearly at what has happened. You have been stripped of the things that held your gaze fixed upon the earth. The roof that sheltered your body, the machines that carried you about, the shores of ### where you labored for decades, all these have been pulled away. And now, in ###, with no money and no certain dwelling, your soul cries out not first for the living God, but for the dead things you possessed.

When Christ stood and cried out at the feast, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink," He did not promise a restored house or a filled bank account. He promised rivers of living water flowing from the belly of the believer. You have a thirst, yes, but you are holding out your cup to the broken cisterns of worldly security. You want to go back to the ###, back to the way things were. But consider this: God does not need you, nor does He owe you any of these fleeting comforts. He owes you nothing. He was before you, and He created you not because He lacked anything, but out of His own good pleasure. The stripping away of your earthly goods is not the cruelty of fate; it is the severe mercy of a God who may be pulling down your idols so that you finally seek the only unshakeable foundation.

You say you are older now. Surely this is the hour to give "more earnest heed" to the things that cannot slip away. For to have spent a lifetime building a home in ### and then to lose it is a small tragedy next to this: that a man should spend his life and never build his home in the kingdom of heaven, and so perish forever. The ruin of worldly poverty is light compared to the ruin of a soul that has let the word of salvation slip away through negligence. What good would it do you to return to the ###, to recover your car and your condo, and yet remain a stranger to Christ, whose poverty makes the whole world rich?

You must investigate and scrutinize your own heart. Why do you believe that standing again on that plot of ### soil will bring you peace? God, who is good even when He disciplines, has allowed this upheaval. He has not done it to destroy you but to compel you to ask a new question. Do not ask, "How can I get back my condo?" Ask instead, "How can I use even this desolation to lay hold of the life that is truly life?" For you can repay God nothing for His long-suffering toward you except the one return He desires: the careful, urgent tending of your own soul.

This is no call to passive resignation. Rise up and look for work in ###, provide for your needs with your hands, and do so with thanksgiving. But do it as a pilgrim, not as a citizen trying to claw his way back to a lost empire. The apostle needed no letter of commendation written on paper, for the love of his people was written on his heart. So let the love of Christ be written on your heart, and you will carry your true home with you wherever you go, whether in ### or ### or the ends of the earth. If He restores your material possessions, receive them as a gift to be held loosely, with your eyes fixed on the hope to come. But if He does not, then know that He is giving you a far greater gift: the chance to thirst only for the water that He gives, the water that leaps up into eternal life. That is the true restoration. Strive for that, and all other loss will be transformed into gain.
