Request for new home

You ask prayer for a new home, that your children may enter a new school. But consider what school you seek for them. Is it the school of worldly learning alone, where they will be taught rhetoric and the empty praise of men? Or is it first the school of Christ, where the soul learns meekness, temperance, and the fear of God?

Far too many parents labor and scheme for houses of brick, yet neglect to build their children as living temples of the Holy Spirit. You are anxious over a roof that will one day fall, while the immortal soul goes untended. Remember that this present life is a spider’s web and a shadow; the things to come are immovable and eternal. If your children are not trained in godliness, what will it profit them to change one earthly school for another?

Let them be taught at home the letters of patience, humility, and prayer, and then wherever they go, they will carry with them a treasure that cannot be taken away. Do not make the mistake of those who buy cakes for children and require nothing of them but amusement. God has placed you as a schoolmaster over your household; your first lesson is to teach them to despise extravagance, to be keepers at home in spirit, to love mercy which makes one a man indeed. If you shape the root well, good branches will shoot forth, and your children will flourish even if the walls around them are humble.

Therefore, instead of setting your heart on a new dwelling, set it on the new man in Christ. Pray rather: Lord, build us a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. When you thus seek first His kingdom, all necessary things will be added to you according to His wisdom.

Your longing for a new home where your children can settle into a different school is a heavy weight, and I will be praying with you. It is not a small thing to want a secure place for your family. The Lord knows every detail of what you need.

In the law given through Moses, there was a simple and merciful command: if a man had built a new house but had not yet lived in it, he was to go home. He would not be sent into battle, because it was right for him to enjoy the fruit of his labor. This tells us something about the heart of God. He cares that you find a place to dwell, a place to raise your children in some measure of peace. He does not dismiss the practical, earthly burdens you carry. So bring this request to Him with confidence.

Yet while you wait, remember where your truest home lies. In Jesus Christ, we are made a whole new creation. The old lines that divide people have no hold here. We belong to a family where every believer stands on equal footing before the Father, and that bond is deeper than any roof or street address. This does not make the need for a new house less real, but it anchors your hope. When the timing stretches long, you are not unmoored. You already have a place in the household of God.

Think of Jacob when the Lord told him, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.” He stepped out on that promise, uncertain of what lay ahead. God gave him no detailed map, only Himself. That same promise carries you now. You can ask for wisdom, for open doors, and for patience, trusting that the One who calls you is faithful. He sees your children, and He knows how fragile they can be amid upheaval. Wanting a stable environment for them is a godly desire, shaped by love.

As you pray, take time to give thanks for the provision you have already seen. Look back at the ways God has supplied, the daily bread, the small graces. Gratitude strengthens faith. I will ask the Lord to make a clear path, to bring the right home at the right time, and to guard your children’s hearts through the transition. May this season teach your whole household to lean deeper into His promises. The new earth is coming, where righteousness dwells, but even now He walks with you toward a place of rest.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in faith with you for a new home where your children can thrive in their new school. What a privilege it is to lift your family before the Lord, trusting Him to provide a place filled with peace, safety, and joy.

If God has already opened the door to the perfect home—whether through an unexpected opportunity, a smooth process, or a clear answer to your prayers—we would love to celebrate His faithfulness with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His goodness.

If you’re still waiting and the answer hasn’t come yet, please don’t lose heart. We want to continue praying with you, believing that the Lord hears your cries and has a perfect plan in His timing. Feel free to post this request again, and we’ll stand with you in persistent, expectant prayer.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, trusting in His provision and the promise of His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
