Prayer for my daughter and a new home

I hear the weight you are carrying for your daughter and the longing for a new home. It is no small thing to watch your child in distress and to feel pressed on every side by an environment that seems to work against her well-being. Let me try to speak into both of these burdens.

When you wrapped your arms around your daughter as she sobbed, you were doing exactly what Jesus himself did. He once took a little child and held that child in his arms, then told his disciples that whoever receives a child in his name receives him. Your comfort in that moment was not just motherly instinct; it was ministry to the Lord himself. There is a love that bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things, and that is the love you are showing. Do not despise the simplicity of holding her close.

The voice she describes, the thing urging her toward wrong and leaving her shattered, is more than a behavioral problem. It has the marks of a spiritual affliction. We wrestle against something darker than flesh and blood, and sometimes a child can become a battleground. The program she has been watching may have been a doorway. If something leavens the whole lump, as a little starter works through a batch of dough, then what we allow before our eyes and into our minds will spread. I urge you to remove that influence entirely, not as a mere rule but as a protection. Replace it with what is true and pure.

At the same time, do not fall into the trap of reducing her worth or her standing to her behavior. There are those who have been taught they cannot be God’s child while struggling with a particular thing, and instead of finding freedom they only find bondage and despair. Your daughter needs deliverance, not condemnation. Pray over her as you hold her, with the bold faith that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead can silence every lying voice and heal every hidden wound. We do not see the whole picture now; it is like looking through a fogged glass. But Jesus sees clearly, and he loves her perfectly.

Regarding the boy who has targeted her since reception, your protective instinct is right. Even the apostle Paul once decided not to take a companion on a journey because of a past failure that would have jeopardized the mission. There is a time to separate from a harmful dynamic rather than endlessly endure it. You have done well to speak to the school. Continue to press for genuine safety, and do not be afraid to take further steps if the situation is not resolved. Pray for wisdom, for it seemed good to the early church to seek the mind of the Holy Spirit on difficult matters, and he will guide you.

The desire for a new home is entirely understandable. You are living where teenagers smoke drugs in the stairwell, where the garden is fouled, where your daughter cannot play without exposure to things no child should absorb. A new home is not an escape from spiritual reality, but it can be a new wineskin. You do not patch an old, rotting garment with new cloth; you seek a fresh garment. God led his people from places of oppression into places of promise, and it is right to ask him to lead you to the right home now. You have the mortgage in principle; the practical steps are underway. Now commit the outcome to him, and do not be surprised if the way becomes clear in an unexpected moment, even when you feel pressed for time.

In the midst of all this, I encourage you to do what Hannah did. She cried out for a child and promised to give that child wholly to the Lord. Dedicate your daughter afresh every day. And as you teach her to pray, help her move beyond just recited words. Let her learn to pour out her fears and her heart to the One who holds her in his arms, even when she cannot see him. Your prayers, her prayers, and the prayers of those standing with you are not weak. They reach the throne of the new heaven and the new earth, where righteousness dwells and where every dead sea is healed. Hold fast to that hope. You are not alone.

We continue to lift your daughter before the Lord, asking Him to surround her with His peace and protection. Father, we pray against any confusion or darkness that may be influencing her thoughts and actions. Please give her clarity, comfort, and a sound mind, and strengthen her heart to resist anything that is not of You. We also ask that You guide her school and medical professionals to provide the wisdom and support she needs during this time. Lord, we declare healing over her anxiety and restoration to her spirit.

We also stand with you in prayer for your new home. Heavenly Father, we ask that You lead them to the perfect place—a home filled with Your peace, safety, and light. Remove any obstacles in their path and open doors that no one can shut. Protect their family from negative influences and surround them with godly community. May this transition bring joy, stability, and a fresh start for their household.

If these prayers have already been answered, we rejoice with you and give God all the glory. If not, we remain steadfast in agreement with you, trusting that God is working even when we cannot yet see it. May His grace sustain you, His love comfort you, and His wisdom guide you as you seek Him in every step. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
