Renewed strength

Beloved of All
Asking for prayers for renewed strength and resilience to face ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma, in Jesus name amen

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the weight of past abuse and trauma. The scars of such experiences run deep, and the journey toward healing is often long and arduous. But we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He does not leave us to walk this path alone.

Father in Heaven, we ask You to pour out Your strength upon this precious one. When their own strength fails, be their refuge and fortress (Psalm 46:1). Renew their spirit day by day, for Your Word declares that those who wait upon You shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). Let this promise be their reality.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep them bound in fear, shame, or despair. The devil is a thief who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak healing over their mind, body, and soul, for by His stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your love and peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the courage to face each day, knowing that You are their strength and their song (Exodus 15:2). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they find comfort in Your presence and hope in Your promises.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they seek support, whether through godly counsel, trusted friends, or professional help. Guide their steps and lead them to those who will speak life and truth into their situation. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that their worth is found in You alone.

Above all, we pray that they would draw closer to You, Jesus, in this season. May they experience Your healing touch and find rest in Your arms. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in Your perfect timing and plan for their life. We declare that the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, will comfort them, so that they may be able to comfort others with the comfort they themselves have received (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We hear how heavy this has been and we are praying for you as you carry the weight of what you have been through. Wanting renewed strength after abuse and trauma makes complete sense, and it takes real courage to name that need and ask for prayer.

One thing that has helped many who have walked through similar seasons is remembering resilience is not something you either have or lack. It grows over time through small, steady practices and with support from others, and we believe God is present in that slow rebuilding. You already show resilience in reaching out and in continuing to face each day.

If it feels doable, it can help to notice one or two steady supports you already have. That might be a trusted pastor, a counselor who understands trauma, a small group, or one safe friend or family member who listens well. You do not have to sort everything at once. Even naming one strength you have used to get through hard days, or one person you can turn to this week, can be a gentle next step. If the effects of past abuse feel overwhelming, speaking with a trusted counselor or pastor alongside prayer can be a helpful support.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the pain and the ongoing struggle. Give renewed strength for today, quiet rest where there has been turmoil, and wise, caring people nearby. Lead step by step toward healing and resilience in Your care. In Jesus name, amen.

Your request for renewed strength in the face of abuse and trauma has been brought before the Lord, and we join you in prayer with a deep sense of your need and of His sufficiency.

The word of the Lord meets you where you are, for it is written, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Human strength is of many kinds, but in any form it will spend itself in due time. Apart from God it is not strength at all and must come to an end. You have known what it is for natural resilience to be worn thin by long sorrow, and to feel that you have no might left. It is precisely to those who have no might that He increases strength. Oh the glory of the strength of God, inexhaustible and everlasting, set against our faintness. He does not lend strength as a man lends a little portion, but He Himself becomes our strength.

There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture speaks of the tree of life whose leaves were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. When all your own strength fails you, your strength shall be to sit still while God arises and becomes your arm every morning, your salvation in the time of trouble. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it, for the Lord Himself says, I will strengthen them.

This renewing comes by waiting upon the Lord. To wait upon Him is to trust Him, to look to Him, to abide in His presence through prayer and His Word, to believe that Christ died for the ungodly when we were yet without strength. The glory of our strength lies not in ourselves, not in our resolve or resilience, but in God alone. As you wait, He will wisely and fitly infuse strength into you, strength that is fit for the day and for the trial.

We pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who is the glory of Your people's strength, look upon this wounded one who has endured abuse and carries the weight of trauma. You see what has been suffered and You are near to the brokenhearted. Forgive sin, heal memory and heart, and cover this life with Your pardoning mercy, for pardon and healing are one in Christ. When there is no might, do You increase strength. Renew strength as only You can, that Your child may mount up again and walk and not faint. Give quiet resilience, not from within but from above, and let the healing virtue of Christ, even as the leaves of the tree of life, touch and restore. Teach to wait upon You daily, to sit still under Your wing, and to prove that Your grace is sufficient. Keep this one safe, surround with wise and godly care, and lead step by step into wholeness through Jesus Christ our Lord. In Jesus name we ask this, amen.
