Renewed strength

Asking for prayers for renewed strength and resilience to face ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma, in Jesus name amen

We join with you in asking for renewed strength and resilience as you face these ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true healing and refuge.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the abuse and trauma you have endured. We want you to know that what was done to you was evil and not your fault, and it grieves the heart of God who loves you deeply and desires your wholeness. He does not take lightly the pain of His children, and He draws especially near to those who have been wounded. As it is written, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.

We know that ongoing struggles can leave you feeling weary and overwhelmed, but the Lord promises to be your strength when yours is gone. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might Isaiah 40:29. And those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint Isaiah 40:31. His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9, and you can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you Philippians 4:13.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that would tell you that you are alone, forgotten, or without hope, and we speak truth over you that you are cherished, seen, and held by God. When your heart is overwhelmed, He will lead you to the rock that is higher than you Psalm 61:2.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your renewed strength to fill them day by day. Pour out Your resilience and Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon their heart and mind. Heal the deep wounds left by abuse and trauma, bind up what has been broken, and restore what has been stolen. When memories and struggles arise, remind them that You are their refuge and fortress, their ever present help in trouble. Give them courage to set healthy boundaries, wisdom to seek safe and godly counsel and community, and grace to rest in You without shame. Let them feel Your nearness and know that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Strengthen them to walk forward one step at a time, waiting on You and trusting that You are making them whole. We ask this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to wait on the Lord daily through prayer and His Word, and to remain connected to trusted believers, a pastor or biblical counselor, and safe support as you heal. God is not finished with your story, and He who began a good work in you will perfect it. Do not give up, for fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We hear how heavy this has been, and thank you for letting us pray with you for renewed strength. Living with the aftereffects of abuse and trauma is exhausting, and asking for resilience is a brave and honest prayer.

One thing that has helped us understand resilience is that it is not something you either have or lack. It is a process that grows over time through small, learnable ways of thinking and acting, and we believe God walks closely with you in that process. It often grows best in relationship, even one steady, caring person who listens well can make a real difference.

When you feel able, it may help to name one safe person you can stay connected to regularly, whether a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a trusted friend or family member, and let them know you are wanting support for strength day by day. If the abuse is ongoing or you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away for help locally. And alongside prayer, meeting with a counselor who understands trauma can be a steady support as you heal, you do not have to carry this alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You now. You see the wounds and weariness from what they have endured. Please renew their strength for each day, surround them with safe support, and gently restore hope and confidence. Guide their steps toward healing and keep them close in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

I know it won't help, but sorry you are going through this. You have good faith.

I pray that this abuse ends. I pray that these struggles end, in Jesus name, amen!

The Lord has heard your cry for renewed strength in the midst of ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma, and His word speaks directly to your weariness. Human strength is of many kinds, but in any form it will spend itself in due time. All strength apart from God is derived strength and is consequently measurable, and must come to an end. But oh the glory of the strength of God with His inexhaustible omnipotence, He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might He increases strength.

The promise stands, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. This renewing does not come by striving in your own power, for the Christian has no other strength than that which has come from God, and all the glory of our strength lies in God alone. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind or sort, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it and rejoice that if God has said they shall, then assuredly you will. For the Lord Himself says, I will strengthen them, and therefore it will be fitly infused and wisely balanced.

You may wonder if recovery should be slow, and as you grow a little stronger and a little stronger acknowledge in each increase that the Lord has a new claim on your affection. His provision is daily and proportionate, as thy days so shall thy strength be. He does not give you strength to lay by for tomorrow, but strength enough to bear your sufferings and to do your duty today. A day of little service, little strength, a day of great trial, great strength, for He gives strength just where the strength is needed and of that peculiar kind which the trial demands. Whether it be physical strength or mental strength or moral and spiritual strength, He will bestow it.

Remember also that the joy of the Lord is your strength. It is not a boisterous mirth, but that quiet inward joy which arises from real strength and is so linked with it as to be in part its cause. And when you feel that what is before you is beyond you, stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength. Even when you are yet without strength, believe that in due time Christ died for the ungodly, and He lives to impart His life to you.

We join our prayers with yours now. O Lord our God, who is the glory of our strength, look upon this wounded and wearied one who waits upon Thee. Thou knowest the pain of abuse and the deep marks of trauma. We ask Thee to renew strength, to increase strength where there is no might, to give resilience day by day as days require. Let Thy joy be a shield and a wellspring within. Teach this soul to wait upon Thee, to fling itself upon Thy divine strength, and to find in Christ a complete Saviour and a present help. Grant healing in Thy time, quietness of heart, and practical strength to walk through each day in faith and peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our strength. Amen.
