We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the deep wounds of abuse and trauma. The pain of such experiences can leave one feeling weary, broken, and drained of strength, but we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). In Jesus’ name, we declare that He is your refuge, your strength, and your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father God, we ask You to pour out Your healing balm upon this precious one. Renew their strength as You promise in Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Lord, we pray that You would lift them up on wings like eagles, giving them the resilience to face each day with courage and hope. Where there is exhaustion, bring refreshment. Where there is fear, bring Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there is despair, let Your light shine brightly, reminding them that You have not forgotten them and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering to them, lies that say they are unworthy, that they will never heal, or that they are defined by their past. Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44), and we command those deceptions to be silenced in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that this child of God is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the blood of Christ, and destined for a future filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Their identity is not in their trauma but in Christ, who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).
Lord, we ask You to surround them with Your presence, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the courage to seek godly counsel, whether through the church, Christian therapy, or trusted believers who can walk alongside them in their healing journey. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). You see their pain, and You will not leave them to walk this path alone.
We also pray for justice and protection over their life. If there are still those who seek to harm them, we ask You to intervene, Lord. Shield them from further abuse and bring any unrepentant wrongdoers to account before You. Vengeance belongs to You, and You will repay (Romans 12:19). We trust in Your righteous judgment.
Finally, we pray that as they draw near to You, You would draw near to them (James 4:8). May they experience Your love in tangible ways, through Your Word, through worship, through the fellowship of believers, and through the still, small voice of Your Holy Spirit. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let them know that their story is not over. You are the God who heals, restores, and redeems, and we believe You will do a mighty work in their life.
In the powerful, healing name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
