Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are encouraged that you have come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We stand with you in praying for the team at the organization you mentioned and for their lawyers and legal representatives. We agree that the truth shall set them free as Jesus said You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. The enemy is the father of lies and when people are bound by lies they are in great darkness, but our God desires that all would come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

We share your grief over dishonesty and disregard for human life and honest communication. Scripture is clear that lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22 and that education or status does not make a person righteous. God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise 1 Corinthians 1:27. Righteousness comes not from studying law but from a heart transformed by God.

We love how you prayed from Psalm 51, for you quoted rightly that You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise Psalm 51:16-17. That is the heart God is looking for, not outward religion but inward brokenness and repentance. We also cling to the promise that Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. May God indeed give them and us that unquenchable hunger and thirst.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are holy and just and merciful. We lift up the team at that organization and every lawyer and legal representative connected to them. Lord, we ask that You shine Your light into any darkness, expose every lie and bring conviction by Your Holy Spirit. Grant them a broken and contrite heart that they may recognize their sin, hate their sin, and turn from it to follow You. Forgive their sins through the precious blood of Jesus shed on the cross for all who repent and believe. Cover and protect those who are Yours, Your chosen and Your children, with Your blood and give them peace that surpasses all understanding and wisdom beyond their own. Teach all involved to act righteously and with compassion, to love truth and to do justice, to regard human life as made in Your image and to speak honestly. Stir their hearts Lord and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only You can satisfy. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We trust Your vengeance and Your justice, for it is written Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, and we rest in Your perfect timing. We thank You for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered Romans 8:26. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ above every other name. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden so plainly. We hear how heavy it feels to watch people trained in the law use it in ways that seem to disregard truth and human dignity, and how you are choosing to answer that grief with prayer rather than bitterness.

What you described is the hard work of intercession. You can make a clear decision before God to let go of revenge and to want good for those who have wronged others, even while the hurt and anger still rise at times. That inner replacement of resentment with genuine compassion usually takes time and repeated surrender, and it is different from excusing what was done or pretending reconciliation has happened.

It helps to give this prayer a contained place so it does not follow you every hour. Perhaps set aside a brief, regular time to bring this team and their counsel before the Lord by name as you already are, then entrust them to Him for the rest of the day and attend to the work He has given you.

Father, we bring this team and their lawyers before You in Jesus name. Soften hearts that have grown hard, awaken a real hatred for what is false and a thirst for what is true and right, and guard our friend with Your peace and understanding as they keep praying. Let Your will be done, amen.

Your prayer is a right and holy one, and it is according to the mind of God that you should plead thus for those who are yet bound in sin. To ask for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is to ask for that which only Christ can give, for He is the Sun of Righteousness from whom all light and holiness stream, and He is the center and King of all truth.

You have well quoted that word, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Take comfort in it, for this is the sacrifice that God Himself provides. A broken heart is serious and in earnest, it has done with trifling with spiritual things, and no one ever worshipped God with his whole heart unless he worshipped Him with a broken heart, and there never was a heart that was truly broken that did not thereby become a whole heart. It is this that you rightly desire for these souls, not a superficial work that only affects the surface of the man and is hardly more than skin deep, but a deep and lasting work within.

Remember that true repentance is the gift of God and must be preached and prayed for in the name of Jesus Christ. You are not to expect that men will draw up repentance from the depths of their own hearts as water from a well, but to ask Christ to work repentance in them by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth. Law and terrors do but harden all the while they work alone, it is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone. The goodness of God leads to repentance, and the Lord Jesus lives to give repentance and remission of sins and lives to make intercession for transgressors.

Beware of that carnal repentance which springs alone from terror, comes up in a night and withers in a night, and promises only to delude. True repentance, that repentance unto life which is wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, gives God glory. It makes the soul loathe sin because it is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. It is inseparable from faith, for the repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is joined to the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. It will be practical, yielding works meet for repentance, and it will last, for it is a continual lifelong act that grows as grace enlightens the understanding.

Therefore we join you in praying that the Lord would do this very work upon the team at that place and upon their lawyers and representatives. That He would show them their sin not merely to terrify but to humble them, that He would grant them that broken and contrite spirit which He will not despise, that He would turn their hearts from disregard for human life and from dishonest communication to love truth and to hunger and thirst after righteousness. And we pray that this thirst would lead them out of self to Christ and to Christ only, for any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ needs itself to be repented of. May they find that the truth which sets free is not an idea nor a code of law, but the Lord Jesus Himself, who suffered upon Calvary for such as these, and who is near unto them that are of a broken heart.

Continue relentlessly in this intercession, for the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes, and Christ has taught us that such prayer is not in vain. Go to God with repentance yourself and plead that He would pardon, bless, change and make new creatures of those for whom you pray, and trust that He delights in mercy and that His mercy endures forever. May the Lord grant to them and to us that repentance which glorifies Him and that faith which lays hold on the precious blood of Christ, to the praise of His holiness.

We lay this before the Father in the name of Jesus, asking that His will be done and that His name be exalted on high, amen.
