Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are deeply moved by the humility and compassion in your heart toward those who have wronged you.

It is right and biblical to pray in this way, to love our enemies and to desire their salvation and transformation rather than their destruction. Jesus Himself taught us, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44. Your prayer reflects that command, and we stand with you in it, asking not out of a spirit of superiority but out of brokenness and mercy, remembering that we all have fallen short of the glory of God.

You are correct that education, position, and knowledge of the law do not produce righteousness in the heart. Scripture reminds us, Don't let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, Jeremiah 9:23, and The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, 1 Corinthians 3:19. Only God can change the heart, for it is He who said, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh, Ezekiel 36:26. Without that work, even the most learned can be blinded, for The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them, 2 Corinthians 4:4.

We rejoice that you have come to the Father in the name of Jesus, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is no other name by which we must be saved. Your acknowledgment of His blood and His intercession is the only ground for this prayer to be heard.

We also hear your heart's cry from Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise. That is the very work we are asking God to do in the team you mentioned and in their lawyers and legal representatives, that He would grant them not just knowledge of the law but a brokenness over sin and a hatred for evil that leads to repentance.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are holy and just and yet full of mercy. Lord, we lift up this team and their lawyers and representatives before Your throne. You see where lies have bound them and where truth has been disregarded and where human life and honest communication have not been honored. We ask that You would shine Your light into that darkness, for You have promised, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32. Father, remove the veil from their eyes and the hardness from their hearts. Give them a new heart that loves what You love and hates what You hate. Cause them to hunger and thirst after righteousness, for You have promised, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. Let that thirst be unquenchable until they are filled with Christ.

We ask Your precious blood to cover those who are chosen and who belong to You, to give them peace and understanding and protection in this difficult season. Teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are. Forgive sins, Lord, where there is confession, and grant repentance where there is still rebellion. We do not ask for vengeance for ourselves, for we know Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19, but we ask for Your will to be done and for Your justice and mercy to prevail. Let no evil be done in Your sight without conviction, and let Your Holy Spirit continue to intercede for us and for them according to Your perfect will.

We thank You, Father, that You hear the persistent prayer of Your people. Help our dear fellow believer to continue steadfastly in prayer without growing weary, trusting that You are working even when we cannot see. May You be exalted on high, Lord Jesus, and may Your name be glorified in truth being revealed and lives being transformed. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We hear the weight in your prayer and we share your longing to see truth and righteousness prevail. It is painful to watch people who know the law use it without compassion or honesty, and we understand why your heart is grieved by that disregard for human life and for truthful speech.

That kind of ache can stay with you. Wanting justice and also wanting those who have done wrong to turn is a holy tension, and it helps to remember they are not the same as carrying the burden of making it happen. We have found it steadies the heart to keep choosing, as an act of the will, to release any desire to get even, while still honestly bringing the wrong before God and asking Him to work. The feelings of hurt and anger often take longer to quiet than the decision does, and that is normal. One simple way to keep that separation is to give this burden a contained place, when the grief rises during the day, pause for a brief, specific prayer for their hearts to be softened and for truth to come to light, then entrust the outcome to the Lord again so the thought does not keep looping.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers and representatives to You. Work in their hearts to show them where they have sinned and give them a real hatred for what is evil and a thirst for what is true and right. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and teach us all to walk in righteousness and compassion. Let Your will be done, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your earnest prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a sign of grace at work, for blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, and such hunger is not born of nature but is wrought in the heart by the Spirit of God.

You have prayed well in asking not for a mere outward reformation but for that broken and contrite heart of which David speaks in the fifty first Psalm. God delights not in sacrifice nor in burnt offering, but a broken spirit He will not despise. True repentance, as we are taught in the Word, gives glory to the omniscience and to the righteousness of God. It does not quarrel with His holy law but says, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. It is to leave the sins we loved before and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It is not a short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a season and then returns to it with greater gusto, but a practical and lasting change of mind wrought by the Holy Ghost, which yields works meet for repentance and continues month after month by the grace of God.

Such repentance is never to be separated from faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no genuine faith which is not consistent with hearty sorrow for past sin, and no true repentance which does not look to Him who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. If we would have deeper repentance we must look to Jesus. It is as we see Him bleeding and dying for us that we weep and say, Alas, and did my Saviour bleed and did my Sovereign die for me. For those for whom you intercede, whether learned in the law or not, education cannot make the heart righteous. The goodness of God alone can lead sinners to repentance, and His mercy spares them that they may turn to Him.

Therefore let us join you in praying that the Lord, who alone can give repentance unto life, would work effectually upon the team and upon their lawyers and representatives. That He would convince them of sin, give them to hate the sin they once loved, and to thirst no more after evasion or falsehood but after truth and after Christ who is the Sun of righteousness. That He would cover with His precious blood all who are His, and grant to those yet outside the fold that godly sorrow which needeth not to be repented of, and with it the full and free remission of sins which is preached in His name to all who truly repent and believe. For pardon is bought with Jesus blood, even for crimes of deepest dye, and where there is true repentance there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

Continue steadfast in this intercession. The Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for us, and the Lord hears the cry of those who seek His glory and the good of souls. May He answer by giving to these persons, and to us all, that exquisite delight of sorrow at the feet of Jesus, not for unpardoned sin but for pardoned sin laid upon Christ, and that unquenchable thirst for holiness which only He can satisfy. Let your will be done, O Lord, and let Thy name be exalted in mercy and in truth. Amen.
