Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you wholeheartedly in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are deeply encouraged by the humility and compassion in your heart toward those who have opposed you.

You have prayed as Scripture teaches us to pray, not boasting and not looking down on others, but recognizing that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23, and that education and position do not make anyone righteous. As it is written, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Jeremiah 9:23, and the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, 1 Corinthians 3:19. We also hear your grief over the disregard for human life and honest communication, and we stand with you in asking God to bring conviction and transformation rather than merely condemnation.

We love that you came in the precious name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, John 14:6. You quoted truly that you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free, John 8:32, and we pray with you that this freedom would come to that team and to their lawyers and legal representatives. We are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, Matthew 5:44, and to make supplication for all men, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

Your citation of Psalm 51:16-17 is so fitting, For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We agree that what is needed is not outward religion or legal knowledge, but a new heart. We pray with you for what God has promised, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, Ezekiel 36:26, and that the Holy Spirit would convict them concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment, John 16:8.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us. Lord, we lift up that team and their lawyers and representatives before Your throne of grace. Where they are bound by the lies of the enemy, shine Your light and set them free by Your truth. Where there are those among them who are Yours, cover them with the precious blood of Jesus, grant them peace that passes understanding, Philippians 4:7, and give them wisdom and understanding. For those who have engaged in what is evil in Your eyes, we ask for Your mercy and forgiveness, and we ask that You would grant them a broken and contrite heart, that they would not only recognize their sin but hate it and turn from it. Stir their hearts, Father, create in them a hunger and thirst for righteousness, for blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to honor life and honest communication. Let them learn that it is righteousness that exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people, Proverbs 14:34. We do not ask for vengeance, for vengeance belongs to You, Romans 12:19, but we ask that You would overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21, and that Your will be done in their lives as it is in heaven. Continue to work in our own hearts as well, keep us from pride, keep us praying without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, and keep us faithful to pray until we see Your justice and mercy prevail.

We encourage you to remain relentless as you have said, for men ought always to pray, and not to faint, Luke 18:1. God is patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9. Keep interceding with that unquenchable thirst you have asked for, trusting that God hears and that He will answer according to His perfect will and timing. We stand with you asking that truth would reign and that righteousness would flow like a mighty stream.

In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We hear the burden in your prayer, and we are grateful for your tender heart toward truth in a situation that has felt so dishonest and disregarding of human life. It is a holy thing to long for righteousness not only for yourself but for those who have done wrong, and to ask God to soften hearts rather than simply to judge.

What you describe, grieving what has happened while still asking God to forgive and to change those involved, is often a long road. One thing that has helped others is understanding that forgiveness has two parts. There is a decision, a quiet choice before God not to hold on to revenge or to repay harm, and then there is the slower emotional work where resentment and anger are gradually replaced by compassion. That second part rarely happens all at once. It takes time, prayer, and turning the matter over to God again when the hurt rises up. Choosing the first does not mean excusing what was done or pretending it did not matter, and it does not automatically mean reconciliation.

As you keep praying, it may help to give that intercession a simple, sustainable place, a few minutes each day to bring these lawyers and representatives before the Lord by name as you already are, and then consciously leaving them in His hands so the weight does not stay on you alone. If this situation touches you personally, a trusted pastor can walk with you in that as well.

Father, we bring this team and their counsel before You in Jesus' name. Work in each heart to bring conviction, honesty, and a true thirst for what is right. Cover Your people with peace and keep them compassionate and clear minded, and let Your will be done in this matter. Amen.

Your prayer is itself a sign of grace at work, for to thirst after truth and righteousness is no natural desire of the fallen heart but the drawing of the Spirit of God. You have done well to come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we may approach the Father, and no other blood by which sinners may be covered and cleansed.

It is written, the truth shall set you free, and this is most surely true when that truth is the truth of God's salvation. We must know the truth about ourselves, that we have really transgressed and are stripped naked before God, and then we must know the truth of a real atonement, that Christ was nailed to the cross for sin and lives to give repentance and remission of sins. When the heart comes to a knowledge of this truth, then it is saved from despair, for we learn that salvation is not in man, nor in all the feelings and prayings and zeal which we could crowd together, but in Christ alone and His great finished work.

You pray rightly for those who are learned in the law and yet are bound by Satan's lies, and for all who disregard human life and honest communication. Let us remember that education cannot make the heart righteous, and that all have fallen short of the glory of God. Your humility in this is comely, that you do not boast nor look down upon them, for we also were once in darkness. What they need, and what we all need, is not a superficial repentance which is not better than the vomit of a dog, but that true repentance which hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, such, O God, You will not despise. True repentance gives God glory, it stands at the cross and sees sin forgiven and then repents more than ever, and it makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ.

Be encouraged to be relentless in prayer, for the Lord Jesus Christ lives to pray for sinners. He lives to make intercession for the transgressors, He lives to give to sinners the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance, and He lives mighty to save, to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. There is joy in the heart of God Himself over every sinner's repentance, and He has promised that a broken heart He will not despise. The Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to the will of God will also stir their hearts if it be His gracious purpose, to loathe the poison that is in the sweetness of sin and to thirst unquenchably for that righteousness which is only found in Christ.

Therefore continue to plead the precious blood of Christ over them, that they may come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved, that they may be taught to be righteous and compassionate, and that they may be delivered from doing that which is evil in His eyes. Pray that God would grant them a holy mourning for sin, which is blessed and safe, and then give them beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. He is able to strengthen the weak heart and to bring forth water from the flinty rock.

May the Lord hear your cry and answer according to His abundant goodness, and may He keep your own heart lowly, watchful and full of love for the souls of men, trusting not in man but in the Lord Jesus who alone can save. Let your will be done, O Father, and let Christ be exalted on high. Amen.
