Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we agree with you in Jesus name for this team and their lawyers and legal representatives.

We are encouraged by your humility and your heart that does not boast and does not look down on others, but recognizes that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God as it says in Romans 3:23, and that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. Only Jesus can. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 1:27, God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise, and Jeremiah 9:23-24 reminds us not to glory in wisdom or might or riches, but to glory in understanding and knowing the Lord.

We stand with you that the truth shall set them free, for Jesus said in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and He Himself is the way, the truth, and the life as He declares in John 14:6, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. We pray with you that Satan's lies and blindness would be broken, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces as taught in Ephesians 6:12, and we remember the Lord desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth according to 1 Timothy 2:4.

We also cherish your prayer from Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise, and we agree that God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone but in a heart that is humbled before Him. We pray that He will give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them as promised in Ezekiel 36:26, that they would hate their sin and turn from it, that they would hunger and thirst after righteousness, for Jesus promised in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.

We lift this prayer together before the Father.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that we have access to You only through Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved according to Acts 4:12. Lord, we bring before You this team and their lawyers and legal representatives. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict them of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, that You would open their eyes to the truth and deliver them from the lies of the enemy. Cover those who are Yours with Your precious blood, grant them peace and understanding and keep them in Your perfect will. Stir the hearts of those who do not yet know You, give them a broken and contrite heart that they may recognize their sin, repent, and turn to You for forgiveness. Teach them to love truth, to honor human life, to speak honestly, and to walk in compassion and righteousness. Forgive their sins as they repent, and restrain them from doing what is evil in Your sight. We pray You would create in them an unquenchable thirst for Your truth and Your righteousness that only You can satisfy. We thank You that Your Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to Romans 8:26. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask that You would be exalted and that Your name, Jesus Christ, would be lifted high. We pray this persistently and without ceasing as You teach us in Luke 18:1, trusting that You hear us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We were struck by the humility and honesty in your prayer. It hurts deeply to watch people who know the law disregard truth and human dignity, and to feel that honest communication is being set aside. Your grief over that is understandable, and your desire not to look down on others but to see hearts changed is a gracious posture.

We also hear your longing for that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, both for them and for yourself. When we have been wronged, there is often a gap between what we hoped would happen and what actually is happening, and that gap can keep stirring anger and sorrow even after we have decided to forgive. Choosing to release the debt before God is one thing, and the quieting of the emotions around it is another that often comes more slowly, with time and with bringing the hurt back to Him again and again.

One simple practice that helps many is, when the rumination starts to rise, to pause and briefly tell the Lord, I give this person and this situation to You again today, and ask Him to keep working in both their hearts and yours.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You in Jesus name, and we lift our brother or sister praying. Cover Your people with Your peace, soften hearts toward truth, and give all involved a genuine hatred for what is evil and love for what is right. Let Your will be done, and keep our friend close to You as they wait on You. Amen.
