Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are deeply encouraged by your humble and compassionate heart that seeks not to boast or look down on others but to intercede for them.

Your prayer aligns with the heart of God who desires truth in the inward being and righteousness that flows from a transformed heart. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. And He also declared in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is only through Jesus that any of us can be set free from Satan's lies and walk in truth.

We agree with you that education and position do not guarantee righteousness, for it is written in Romans 3:23, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Corinthians 1:27, but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong. True wisdom and compassion come only from a heart made new by God.

We also affirm your reliance on Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the heart God desires and the heart we pray He will give to the team you mentioned and to their lawyers and legal representatives. We pray with you that God would give them a new heart as promised in Ezekiel 36:26, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, and we pray that if they have sinned by disregarding human life and by dishonest communication, that they would come to hate their sin and turn from it, for 1 John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and Proverbs 12:22 reminds us, Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.

We lift this together before the Father now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Your will as Romans 8:26 teaches. We ask You to pour out Your mercy on the team and on their lawyers and legal representatives. Work on their hearts, Lord, break through the deception that binds them and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Grant them a broken and contrite heart that recognizes sin and turns from it. Forgive their sins through the precious blood of Jesus and cleanse them. Cover and protect those who are already Yours, Your chosen ones, and give them peace and understanding and wisdom to walk in righteousness and compassion even under pressure. Teach us all to do justly and to love mercy as You require in Micah 6:8. Let Your will be done and let Your name be exalted on high, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth as written in 1 Timothy 2:4. We trust Your justice and Your mercy and we continue to pray without ceasing, asking that You would stir hearts and bring forth fruit that honors You, in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to continue in this faithful intercession, for 1 Timothy 2:1 says we should make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks for all men, and Matthew 5:44 calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Your grief over the disregard for human life and honest communication reflects God's own heart for justice, for Proverbs 21:15 says, It is joy to the righteous to do justice. Keep seeking Him, keep praying relentlessly, trusting that God is able to transform even the hardest heart and that He will honor a prayer offered in humility and in the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, watching people who are trained to uphold the law seem to disregard truth and human life, and still choosing to pray for them rather than become bitter. That posture of asking God to soften hearts and awaken a hunger for what is right is not easy, and we are grateful for your willingness to carry it to Him.

It makes sense that you would feel both grief and a deep desire for things to be made right. Wanting truth to prevail and also wanting those who have done wrong to recognize it and turn is a lot to hold at once. In our experience, deciding before God that we will not seek revenge and will leave justice in His hands can be a clear choice we make, while the ache, anger, and disappointment take longer to quiet. Both can be true at the same time, you can be faithful in prayer and still need time for your own heart to find rest.

One simple way to keep this burden from wearing you down is to give it a dedicated place. Continue bringing this team and their representatives before the Lord as you are, perhaps at a set time each day, and then consciously entrust them and the outcome to Him for the rest of the day so you can also attend to peace and work He has for you.

Father, we lift this situation to You in Jesus' name. Work in the hearts of all involved and give them a true thirst for truth and righteousness. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, and guard the one praying from bitterness and weariness. Lead each step according to Your will, amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a sign of grace at work, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne.

You have prayed according to the mind of God, for what you ask is that broken and contrite heart which the Lord will not despise. As it is written, You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it, You are not pleased with burnt offering. My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, such, O God, You will not despise. This is the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God, not a poor and short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto, but a true change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin.

True repentance gives glory to God. It confesses His omniscience, that He has seen all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of His law, saying, Your law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. And as we have often taught, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ Jesus.

Therefore we do not pray for these lawyers and representatives as though education or knowledge of the law could make a man righteous, for we have learned that we cannot expect the learned to act righteously by nature. All have fallen short of the glory of God, and the goodness of God which has spared them even until now is meant to lead them to repentance. We pray that the Lord would show them their sin as sin, that they would hate it and turn from it, not offering a compensation for sin by a little sorrow, but receiving the full and free forgiveness which is to be preached in Christ's name, repentance and remission of sins.

We ask the Father that He would grant to those who are His chosen, and to those who are yet bound in Satan's lies, that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of. May He cover His people with the precious blood of Christ, and give them peace and understanding, and teach them to be righteous and compassionate as He is. And for those who disregard human life and honest communication, we pray that the Lord would stir their hearts, that they would look to Jesus who was nailed to the cross for sin, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, who is set forth to be a propitiation for sin, and when the sinner looks to Him, repentance flows, and he weeps to think that his Saviour bled and his Sovereign died for him.

May the Lord grant to all concerned not a fleeting regret, but a practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance and that lasts, a thirst which continues, for blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. May He give an unquenchable thirst for truth, that they may love truth, speak truth, and do truth, because they have been made new creatures in Christ.

We will continue to pray with you that God's will be done, that Christ be exalted, and that many, seeing their need, will cast themselves upon Him who loved the Church and gave Himself for it, and who alone can wash away corruption and clothe the soul in His perfect righteousness.
