Praying I hear from ### praying we can talk and work things out. Praying ### stop being mean to me and forgive me. Lord please let me hear from ### today

We join you in bringing this relationship before the Lord and we understand your desire to hear from this person, to talk, to work things out and to receive forgiveness.

We want to encourage you to view this relationship through a biblical lens. If this is a romantic relationship, we believe courtship should be with the purpose of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God. We pray that if it is God's will, this relationship would move toward that godly purpose, and if not, that He would give you both clarity and peace to follow His will. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity, or what fellowship has light with darkness, 2 Corinthians 6:14. Can two walk together, unless they are agreed, Amos 3:3. We also gently remind you that any courtship is to remain pure, for God will judge the sexually immoral, and marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and to pursue purity going forward.

We also hear your pain about unkindness and the need for forgiveness. Scripture calls us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32, and to bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do, Colossians 3:13. Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy, does not brag, is not proud, 1 Corinthians 13:4. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger, Proverbs 15:1, and we are told to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath, James 1:19. We pray you both will speak to one another with grace and truth, listening well and extending the forgiveness you have received.

We also notice your prayer says Lord but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. To be saved we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence, and we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if you have not already.

We pray together now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one and the person on their heart. You know the hurt, the distance, and the longing to talk and to be forgiven. We ask first for Your will to be done in this relationship. If this courtship can honor You and lead toward a godly marriage, we pray You would soften both hearts, remove meanness and harshness, and grant humble, honest communication. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us, to speak with kindness and to listen with patience. If this relationship is not Your will, give clear direction and strength to follow You. Teach them to wait on You, for we wait for Yahweh, be strong, and let your heart take courage, yes, wait for Yahweh, Psalm 27:14. Draw them both closer to Jesus, keep them pure, and guide them by Your wisdom. We trust Your timing even when we long to hear today, knowing Your thoughts are higher than ours. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, to seek godly counsel from mature believers, and to keep pursuing Christ above all. Trust that God hears, that He is working even in the waiting, and that He will lead you in the way you should go as you seek Him first.

We can hear how heavy this waiting feels for you, especially wanting to hear today and hoping things can soften between you. Wanting to talk, to be forgiven, and to not be treated harshly are good and human longings, and we are bringing them before the Lord with you.

One thing that has helped others in this kind of strain is remembering that forgiveness and reconciliation are not exactly the same. You can choose to own your part and ask for forgiveness, and that matters, but restoration takes both people being willing and ready, and sometimes that readiness takes more time than we wish. It does not mean your apology was not sincere if the other person needs space.

While you wait, a steady next step can be to keep your reach out simple and respectful. If you have already asked for forgiveness, consider not sending repeated messages today to press for a reply, but perhaps writing down privately what you would most want to say calmly if you do get to talk, what you are sorry for and what you hope for going forward. Then give them room to respond in their own timing, and bring that waiting to God in prayer rather than carrying it alone. If you have a trusted pastor or mature friend, talking with them can also help you sort next steps with wisdom.

Father, we lift this relationship to You in Jesus name. You see the hurt on both sides and the desire to be heard and forgiven. Bring peace where there has been harshness, give wisdom for what to say and when to be quiet, and help our friend rest in Your care today whether or not the phone rings. Lead both hearts toward what is good and healing in Your will. Amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we have marked the sorrow and longing in it, the desire to hear again from one who has grown distant, to speak and to be forgiven, to see unkindness turned to kindness.

There is a word that meets you at the very point of your need, and it is this, There is forgiveness with God. As the Scripture saith, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions. This forgiveness is divine, surprising and complete. It is not from man only that you need forgiveness, but from God himself, and with Him there is forgiveness, full and free, through Jesus Christ His Son who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Whatever your past has been, however you have sinned against Him or against another, there is forgiveness for the chief of sinners when the heart turns in repentance and faith to Christ alone, for salvation is through Him alone and the record of debt is nailed to His Cross.

Seek that forgiveness first. Before healing comes pardon, and after pardon comes healing. When Jesus saw the palsied man He said first, Thy sins be forgiven thee, and then bade him rise and walk. So come as that poor man did, lying in the presence of Jesus, hoping and expecting forgiveness from His hands. Believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, not as a distant doctrine but as a present mercy. He not only forgave at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and His forgiveness is eternal, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Concerning the one from whom you long to hear, remember also the pattern set before us, Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Forgiveness among us is to be a joint work of grace, forgiving one another freely as we have been freely forgiven. It is a great and ennobling thing to forgive, and a blessed thing to be forgiven. Yet we must bring every desire for reconciliation under the lordship of Christ and within His holy ordinance. God has ordained marriage to be the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and hath set apart all that belongs to it to be kept within that covenant in purity. Therefore we do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, nor to prosper a path that would lead away from holiness. We ask Him to make both hearts obedient to Christ, to grant repentance where repentance is needed, tenderness where there has been hardness, and wisdom to walk in that which is right in His sight.

We will pray for you in this way.

O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look in mercy upon this burdened soul. Show to this one the fullness of forgiveness that is in Christ Jesus, and give faith to receive it. Wash away sin by the blood of the Lamb and heal the wounds that sin has made. Grant a penitent heart and a trusting heart, and teach to forgive even as Christ has forgiven. In this relationship that is so desired, do Thy holy will. If it may be pursued in holiness and truth before Thee, grant grace for honest speech, for kindness, for reconciliation that honors Thee. If it may not, grant grace to submit to Thy wise ordering, to walk in purity, and to find contentment in Thy favor which is better than all earthly comfort. Keep both souls in Thy keeping, draw each one to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and let not impatience nor unkindness rule, but let Thy peace rule. We leave the time and the answer in Thy hands, for Thou knowest what is best, and Thou wilt not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. Amen.
