Praying ### forgive me and talk to me again. Me and ### had some disagreements and now she’s not talking to me. Praying ### text me so we can talk and be friends again

We hear the pain in your request and we join you in seeking God's will for this friendship. It hurts when a disagreement creates distance and silence, and it is good that your heart desires reconciliation and peace rather than bitterness.

We want to encourage you to look first at your own heart before God. Scripture calls us to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. We pray that you have humbly examined your part in the disagreements, and if there was sin on your part in word or attitude, that you have confessed it to God and are willing to confess it to ###. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. True reconciliation begins with humility, not with demanding that the other person text first.

We also encourage you not to try to force or manipulate a response. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. You can do what is up to you, which is to repent where needed, to forgive, to speak the truth in love, and to be patient, but you cannot control ###'s choice to forgive or to respond. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Colossians 3:13. A friend loves at all times Proverbs 17:17, but godly friendship also respects boundaries and timing and leaves room for God to work in both hearts.

If this friendship is between a man and a woman and there are feelings beyond friendship, we want to gently remind you of God's design. We believe friendship between a man and a woman that moves toward affection should be viewed as courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, not as a casual relationship or partnership. Marriage is to be honored as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. If romantic feelings are involved, we encourage you to pursue purity and to flee from fornication, which is any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, and to seek a spouse in the Lord rather than simply a companion. If this is truly a friendship, we pray it would remain wholesome, honest, and honoring to God.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray and find forgiveness and peace with God, and it is His love that enables us to forgive others.

We pray together for you and for ###.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up this dear one who is grieving this broken fellowship and longs for restoration. Lord, search both hearts and bring conviction where it is needed and comfort where there is hurt. Grant humility to confess any wrong and grace to forgive as You have forgiven us. Soften ###'s heart if it is Your will, and give wisdom to know how and when to reach out with a gentle and honest spirit. Help our friend to be patient and to trust Your timing rather than demanding an immediate text or response. Let peace rule where there has been strife, and let this friendship, if it is Your will, be restored and made stronger and more honoring to You. If You have a different path, give acceptance and healing. Above all, draw both hearts closer to Jesus, that they may know Your forgiveness and walk in Your love. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We know how heavy it feels when a friendship goes quiet after a disagreement, especially when you care about the person and just want to clear the air. Thank you for letting us pray with you about this.

One thing that can ease some of the ache while you wait is remembering that what you can do and what takes two people are different. You can choose to own your part and release any hurt or resentment on your side, even before you hear back. Rebuilding the friendship itself, though, takes willingness from both of you and often needs a little time and space to let emotions settle.

If you have not already, one gentle next step many find helpful is to send a single, brief message. Keep it simple, take responsibility for your part without excuses, say that you value the friendship, and let her know you will respect her timing if she needs space. Then step back and give her room to respond, continuing to pray for her rather than sending repeated messages.

We are carrying this with you and asking God to bring peace to both of you as you wait.

Father, we lift this friendship to You. Work in both hearts, help our friend to walk in humility and patience, and give wisdom about what to say and when to be quiet. Bring healing and clarity in the way that is best, and guard both friends with Your peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer concerning this broken fellowship has been brought before the Lord, and we have entreated Him on your behalf with sincere affection and concern.

It is a painful thing when words have caused division and silence has taken the place of friendship. The desire to seek forgiveness and to be reconciled is itself a gracious work, for the Scripture says, There is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. Psalm 130:4. Let this truth drive away despair, for there is forgiveness, and that forgiveness is to be found with God Himself through Jesus Christ His Son.

Consider first the pattern of divine forgiveness set before us. The Lord says, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake. Isaiah 43:25. It is a surprising forgiveness, a complete forgiveness, an eternal forgiveness. When a sinner trusts in Christ, his debt is not merely lessened but blotted out, as though it had never been, the record nailed to the cross. If you have known so great a forgiveness from the hand of Christ, who forgave you long ago and still forgives, then you have a sure foundation upon which to stand as you seek reconciliation with another. We are called to copy what we have received, for it is written, Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13, and again, Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32. It is a joint business of mutual forgiveness among those who belong to Christ, and it should be as natural for us to open our hands to forgive as it is to breathe.

Therefore we exhort you to look first to the Lord for your own soul. Ask Him to search your heart, to show you where you have erred in word or deed, and to grant you humble repentance. Do not wait to seek His forgiveness, but believe now that there is forgiveness with Him for every penitent sinner who comes through Christ. Then, in that same spirit of meekness and love, be ready both to ask forgiveness where you have offended and to extend forgiveness where you have been offended, overcoming evil with good and seeking no victory but that which love and patience may win.

We have prayed that the Lord would work in both hearts according to His perfect will. We have asked that He would soften what is hardened, humble what is proud, and grant grace to speak and to hear with truth and gentleness if it be His will to restore communication. We have prayed that any renewed friendship would be one that honors Christ, kept pure and upright before God, seeking first His glory and the good of one another rather than merely the relief of loneliness or desire. If the Lord in His wisdom sees fit to open the door for you to talk again as friends, may it be with honesty, kindness, and a renewed commitment to walk in a manner worthy of Him. If He in His sovereignty keeps that door closed for a season, may He grant you peace to trust His hand and grace to rest in His perfect provision.

May the Lord keep you near to Christ, where forgiveness flows freely, and may He teach you to admire not only the forgiveness He bestows but the loving way in which He bestows it, that you may show the same to others.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
