Disciple of Prayer
I ask that ### and I are reunited again in a healthy relationship and we are happy together. I pray that you remove anyone out of his life that is keeping us apart.

We hear your heart’s longing for reconciliation and restoration, and we join with you in bringing this matter before the Lord. The desire for a relationship to be healed is understandable, especially when two people care deeply for one another. However, we must first examine this request through the lens of Scripture to ensure it aligns with God’s will.

The Bible teaches that relationships are to be built on godly principles, with marriage as the sacred covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is between a man and a woman and the intention is marriage, we can pray for restoration with wisdom and discernment. However, if this is not a marriage relationship, we must address the reality that cohabitation, fornication, or any sexual intimacy outside of marriage is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Hebrews 13:4). If this is the case, restoration should not be sought until both parties are committed to purity and honoring God’s design for relationships.

Additionally, we notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. Scripture is clear that there is no other name by which we can approach God or receive salvation (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to do so, for He is the only way to the Father and the source of true peace, healing, and restoration. Salvation comes through confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). Without Christ, our prayers lack the foundation of relationship with God that makes them effective.

Now, let us pray together for God’s will to be done in this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance. Lord, we lift up this relationship to You, asking that You would reveal Your perfect will. If it is Your desire for this man and woman to be reunited, we pray that You would remove any obstacles that are not of You, whether they be people, circumstances, or sinful patterns. Father, we ask that You would soften hearts, bring repentance where needed, and align both individuals with Your purpose.

Lord, if this relationship is not in accordance with Your Word, if there is sin, impurity, or a disregard for Your design, we ask that You would convict and lead both parties to repentance. Help them to seek You first and to pursue relationships that honor You. We pray that any ungodly influences would be removed, not by our will, but by Your sovereign hand. Give them the strength to walk in purity and to wait on Your timing.

Father, we also pray for the salvation of both individuals. If they do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. Let them experience the love and grace that only comes through Christ. May they build their lives and any future relationship on the foundation of Your Word.

We trust You, Lord, to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Whether this relationship is restored or redirected, we pray that Your will would be done. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this time, asking Him to reveal His will for this relationship. If there has been sin, confess it and turn away from it, for God is faithful to forgive and cleanse (1 John 1:9). If this is a marriage, pray for unity, love, and a renewed commitment to God’s design. If it is not, consider whether this relationship is honoring to Him or if He is calling you to something different.

Above all, remember that your identity and worth are found in Christ alone. Whether single or married, your life has purpose and value in Him. Seek Him first, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you are unsure about your relationship with Jesus, we urge you to take that step of faith today. He is waiting with open arms.

We hear the ache in your request, the longing for a healthy, restored relationship and the loneliness that comes when closeness is broken. That kind of pain is real, and we’re sorry you’re walking through it right now.

When we’re in this place, it’s easy to fix our eyes on the person and on whatever, or whoever, seems to be in the way. But sometimes the most freeing thing we can do is shift our focus from trying to control the outcome to letting God meet us in the ache. He sees the whole picture, and His love for you is deeper than any human relationship. In our own lives, we’ve found that worship and steady fellowship with God’s people have a way of loosening loneliness’s grip. If you haven’t been able to lately, we’d encourage you to lean into a small group or a worship gathering where you can be known and supported, not to escape the pain, but to let others remind you that you are not alone.

While we can’t pray against specific people or promise a specific reunion, we can and do pray for your good and for God’s wisdom. So we join you like this:

Father, thank You for loving this dear person completely. In this season of separation and loneliness, draw near. Calm the anxious thoughts, and fill the empty spaces with Your own steady presence. Grant clarity and patience, and guide both hearts toward whatever is truly healthy and honoring to You. In the meantime, surround Your child with faithful friends and a sense of belonging that eases the isolation. Hold them close, and in all things, deepen their trust in Jesus, the most faithful companion. In His name we pray, Amen.

The petition you bring speaks of a love for another and a desire to remove all hindrances to that union. Yet consider well that the hindrances you attribute to persons keeping you apart may themselves be the very cords of a man with which a loving God is drawing you. Reflect on whether your eager pursuit of this earthly reconciliation has become a hindrance to your own prayers. Earthly pleasures, especially of a dubious kind, are the worst of hindrances. Some professors indulge in amusements which I am sure are not consistent with prayer. They resemble flies which plunge into the honey until the sweet sticks to their wings and legs and they cannot fly. If this consuming desire has supplanted the Lord in your heart, if you have harsh thoughts of God because He has not granted it, your lack of love, faith and reverence will strangle your prayers.

The word of reconciliation committed unto us is not that you should be reconciled to a person under terms contrary to His design, but that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. Herein is the true restoration. The love you crave must first be set upon its proper object. I can conceive of scarcely any worse torment than conjugal union without affectionate communion. This is supremely true of our union with Christ. Shall I be the bride of Jesus and my love never be displayed in converse with Him? Shame upon me if I allow a day to pass unblest with thoughts, and words, and deeds of love. Turn the force of your plea toward Him who says, "I have redeemed you." The Lord flashed into our soul the first ray of repentance. He worked in us the first dew of love and because of this Grace-work He turns in love to us and remembers us still.

Do not mistake the character of His dealings. He does not cast off His children for sin and utterly disown them, but He chastens them in love. And one of His chastisements lies in shutting out their prayers. This seeming denial may be the restorative surgery of the Great Physician. Instead of chattering like a crane, seek to sing the praises of the Most High, for the remedy for soul-sickness is love, not the love that passes between man and woman, which can be wonderful, but the love of Christ which surpasses it. Jonathan's love was intense, but Christ's love to you is wonderful in its object, that it should be bestowed upon you at all. To love us when there was no good in us, but every evil, this is not after the manner of man, but is worthy of the infinite heart of God.

Therefore, let your chief prayer be this: that you may prove the fullness of redeeming love. Do not be afraid of being too happy in the Lord, or of having too much assurance. Dread not the excitements which come from fellowship with Christ. We are too deeply engraved on the palms of His hands to be left to perish. He restores my soul. Often that which appears to be our utter destruction ends in our complete restoration, according to His Grace. Let this stand as a testimony of His immutable love. May the Spirit of God love you into a ravishing enjoyment of the love of God, for we have been loved out of the pit, not driven by terror, but drawn by the bands of love.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer reveals a heart yearning for restoration, but see to it that you seek not merely the reunion of bodies, but the union of souls in virtue. You ask that God remove anyone keeping you apart, yet consider this: the obstacles you perceive may be permitted by His wisdom to test and purify your love. Do not make your request a weapon against another, for such prayer is not of faith but of passion. The Apostle shows us that even Abraham, when his body was dead and Sarah's womb barren, hoped against hope, trusting not in the removal of all hindrance, but in the promise of God. So you, if this relationship be according to His commandment, that is, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, then trust that He who raises the dead can restore what seems lost. But if it rest outside the bounds of holy matrimony, then to pray for its continuance is to ask blessing upon what He has not blessed. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity?

I have taught often that true kinship is not of blood, but of character and obedience. The Jews rested their hope in descent from Abraham, yet Christ would expel them from that carnal confidence, saying, "If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham." In the same way, do not set your heart upon a relationship merely because your affections cling to it; rather, examine whether it makes you a child of God or of disobedience. If he is your husband, then pray with humility for his heart to turn back to his covenant. If he is not, then what you call a healthy relationship may be a snare, for only within marriage do the Scriptures permit the joining of man and woman, and there alone can true blessedness be found. The relationships that matter are not those of the flesh, but those wrought by the Spirit: for even the Scythian becomes Abraham's son through faith, while the natural descendant is made a stranger through unbelief.

Therefore, instead of asking for the removal of others, pray that all ungodliness be removed from your own heart and from his. Pray that you both may be perfected in the love of Christ, who maketh His sun to rise on the evil and the good. Then, if it be His will, you will be restored not to a fleeting happiness, but to a union hallowed and fruitful. And if not, you will learn that the highest relationship is to be called a son of God, which is given to those who do His commandments and forgive as they have been forgiven. Let your constant prayer be, "Thy will be done," and let your life adorn that petition, that you may be found worthy of the good tidings: reconciliation with God, adoption into His household, and an inheritance among the saints.

The ache for a restored relationship is very real, and God cares about the desires of your heart. But I want to gently point you toward something that can get lost when we’re in pain: the most important relationship you will ever have is the one you already possess with your heavenly Father. Before we can hope to see healing in our human connections, our vertical axis must be secure. If your relationship with God is out of balance, every other relationship will feel out of balance too. But when that relationship is right, when you’re resting in His love and not striving, other things have a way of falling into place.

God never intended for us to relate to Him like a defendant before a judge, constantly looking for loopholes or trying to earn favor. He calls us into a loving, intimate relationship where you can call Him “Father.” In that closeness, you stop having to manipulate people or circumstances to get what you want. You begin to trust that He sees the whole picture, including whoever might be standing between you and this man. Instead of praying for someone’s removal, what if you asked God to work in every heart involved, including your own? True peace isn’t found in demanding a particular outcome, but in surrendering your will to His.

When you’re secure in God’s love, you don’t need to frantically fix one relationship while five others fall apart. That doesn’t mean your longing for reconciliation is wrong, but it does mean you can release the pressure. Spend time simply enjoying Jesus. Let His love fill the empty spaces. As you do, the desperation will give way to a quiet confidence, and you’ll find that He is able to make things right, in His way and His timing. The goal isn’t just a healthy human relationship; it’s that whatever happens, you would be so rooted in His love that your joy doesn’t depend on it.

So I encourage you: seek first a deeper, more living relationship with God. Not a religious routine, but a real, day-by-day love affair with the One who made you. Out of that soil, the fruit of right relationships can grow. And if this man returns, it will be a union that honors the Lord because both of you are anchored in Him. Until then, let your prayer be less about removing obstacles and more about drawing so close to Jesus that His will becomes your deepest desire.
