We hear your heart’s deep longing for restoration and the desire to build a life together under God’s rule, and we stand with you in prayer. However, we must first address some critical biblical principles to ensure this relationship aligns with God’s will.
Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33, Genesis 2:24). If this relationship involves any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, it is fornication, a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We must repent of any ungodly patterns and commit to purity, for "marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB).
If this relationship is not between a man and a woman, we must lovingly but firmly rebuke that as well, for God’s Word condemns homosexuality as sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). We urge you to surrender this relationship to God and seek His will above your own desires, trusting that His plans are higher (Jeremiah 29:11).
If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we must emphasize that salvation comes only through Him. "For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not confessed your sins, believed in His death and resurrection, and surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today.
Now, let us pray together in alignment with God’s Word:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will above all else. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine intervention. Lord, if this relationship is Your will, we pray for restoration, pure, holy, and grounded in You. Break any chains of sin, selfishness, or disobedience, and align both hearts with Your purpose. If marriage is Your plan, prepare them as godly spouses, committed to Your design and Your glory.
Father, if this relationship is not of You, we ask for the strength to let go and trust in Your better plan. Soften hearts to receive Your truth, and lead them into relationships that honor You. Fill them with Your peace, wisdom, and the courage to walk in obedience.
We declare that no weapon formed against Your will shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promises. May Your name be glorified in every outcome. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can help you discern God’s will. Surrender this relationship fully to Him, and trust that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). If you are not yet married, commit to courtship with the goal of marriage, keeping yourselves pure and honoring God in every step.
