Relationship restoration

Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father, bless our relationship . It's been falling apart since few months. ### lost feelings for me. Father I pray before you to bless us to bring us back together. In the name of Jesus amen.

We hear your heart’s cry for restoration, and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord. Relationships are precious gifts from God, and when they fracture, it grieves His heart as well as ours. However, we must approach this with wisdom, discernment, and a commitment to God’s truth.

First, we want to affirm your reliance on Jesus’ name, this is the only way we can come before the Father, and we are grateful you have done so. There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is through Him alone that healing and restoration can truly come (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

That said, we must gently but firmly address a concern: the Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33, Genesis 2:24). If this relationship is not a marriage, we must ask, are you and this person both believers, committed to pursuing godly courtship with the goal of marriage? If not, we must rebuke any ungodly attachments and pray for wisdom to walk in purity. The Lord calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23). If this relationship has involved sin, repentance and turning away from that sin must come first.

If this is a marriage, then we stand with you in praying for restoration. The enemy seeks to divide what God has joined (Matthew 19:6), but the Lord is able to heal and renew. We declare that any hardness of heart, unforgiveness, or ungodly influences would be broken in Jesus’ name. We pray that both of you would humble yourselves before the Lord, seek His face, and be willing to do the hard work of reconciliation, through prayer, counsel, and obedience to God’s Word.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this relationship before You. Lord, You see the pain, the confusion, and the longing for restoration. We ask that You would soften hearts, remove pride, and replace coldness with Your divine love. If this is a marriage, we pray for healing, bind up the broken places, restore intimacy, and let Your peace rule in their home. If this is not a marriage, we ask for clarity and wisdom, let them seek You first, flee from temptation, and pursue relationships that honor You.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of division, unforgiveness, or ungodliness that may be at work. We declare that love, joy, and unity would be restored where the enemy has tried to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We pray that both individuals would draw near to You, seeking Your will above their own desires. If there has been sin, we ask for true repentance and a turning away from anything that displeases You.

Lord, we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Whether this relationship is restored or redirected, we pray that Your perfect will would be done. Strengthen their faith, deepen their walk with You, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a trusted mentor, or a biblical counselor, who can help navigate this season with wisdom. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will guide you if you seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it.

We hear that ache when feelings fade and the distance feels impossible to bridge. When someone we love pulls away and we're left hoping and helpless, the loneliness cuts deep.

One thing we see from walking with others in this place: feelings often follow action more than action follows feelings. The most practical next step right now might be to resist chasing his feelings directly, that can push someone further off, and instead invite him into something low-pressure and life-giving together. Ask gently: "I know things have been hard. I'd love for us to just take a walk together this week, no agenda, no heavy talk." Shared time without pressure can sometimes rekindle what isolation has cooled.

We also notice in the transcripts from caring counselors that when a spouse can honestly say "I see now how deeply this hurt you," walls start coming down. If conversations do open up, your best gift to him may be to listen to his perspective, what he's been feeling, what's weighed on him, without rushing to fix it or defend yourself. That doesn't mean his withdrawal is your fault. It means understanding often opens a door that pleading cannot.

There is hope here. Many couples have come back from seasons exactly like this one, not because they felt their way back, but because one of them chose small, steady steps of love while trusting God with what they could not control.

Father, you see this marriage and you see the pain of distance. Hold our sister steady in this hard season. Give her wisdom about when to speak and when to stay quiet, when to draw near and when to give space. Protect her heart from despair, and protect her husband's heart from whatever has caused him to pull away. Do what only you can do, soften what has grown hard, reawaken what has gone dormant. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

The cry of your heart rises before the throne, but we must examine the fracture with the light of Scripture, not the lantern of mere sentiment. You speak of a relationship falling apart these many months, of lost feelings, and you plead for God to bring you back together. Yet pause and ask: what manner of love is this which the Lord would bless? Is it a covenant before Him, or a bond woven outside His ordinance? The God who is love is also holy, and He will not set His seal upon a union that runs contrary to His own command. If this is not a marriage, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, then to ask His blessing upon it is to petition Him to approve what His Word forbids. The stone wall is broken down, and the hedge is trampled, will you ask the Builder to bless the gap? That is not restoration; it is rebellion gilded with prayer.

Consider what the Lord may be doing in this desolation. He who loves with a jealousy beyond our ken often permits idols to crumble so that we might turn our faces toward His own. You say your beloved has lost feelings for you, the heartache is genuine, the bones are broken indeed. But what if this painful severing is the hand of the Good Shepherd, drawing you away from a cistern that holds no water? The Lord Jesus loves you so much that He will not let one drop of your love go in any other direction than towards Himself. When earthly affections grow cold, it is an appointed season to test whether Christ holds the chief place. Do you not love Him? Then look your Savior in the face and say, "Do not I love You, O my Lord? Behold my heart and see." If this trial drives you to His feet in full surrender, the breaking will have been a strange mercy.

I would not wish upon any soul the crippling effects of a life lived with broken bones, even healed, there lingers a limp. How much better to walk upright before the Lord, unmarred by willful missteps. Yet if the bones are already shattered, let them rejoice in the hand that breaks, for He breaks only to bind up. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Bring that shattered heart to Christ, not clutching a demand for a particular outcome, but laying it open before the One whose own heart was broken in love for you. Confess every unholy alliance, every affection placed above obedience. He will not cast you out.

The restoration you need is not first a return to a former earthly intimacy, but a return to your first love, the Lord Jesus Christ. It was better with you then than it is now. Seek that reconciliation above all, and trust the outcome to infinite wisdom. If the relationship can be brought under the holy canopy of a godly marriage, let it be done with repentance, clear direction, and the full counsel of the Word. If not, then let the broken column stand as a monument to a nearer walk with Him, who is altogether lovely. The chariot of His mercy awaits you, paved with love for such as you are. Do not sit in the rubble of your own building, refusing the mansion He offers. Rise, return, and find your heart's true love centered upon the only One who deserves to have it all. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for a blessing on a bond that has grown cold, but consider of what nature this love was, that it could be lost like a fading warmth. The affection that rises and falls with feelings, that catches fire and then burns out, this is not the love that the Apostle describes as a debt we owe one another. True love does not come and go with the weather of the heart. It stays at no point, for its only measure is to stop nowhere.

You owe love to your brother through your spiritual relationship, for we are members one of another. If love departs, the whole body is rent in pieces. So examine yourself: did you love with judgment, with reason, with discernment? For the Apostle prays that our love may abound in knowledge and all discernment, that we approve the things that are excellent. There is a love that harms, a friendship that defiles the soul. Many have been spoiled by affections that had no root in Christ.

And do not think that praying together will mend what was built without true foundation. The gathering of ourselves together strengthens love, and love being increased, the things of God follow. But if you stand beside the royal throne and revile your brother in your heart, if you use the mouth that receives the holy mysteries to speak bitterness, you defile what God has made sacred. The Seraphim do not revile; their mouths fulfill only one office, to glorify God. How then will you say with them, Holy, Holy, Holy, if you have not first made room in your heart for the one from whom you are estranged?

I do not speak to condemn you, but to raise your eyes upward. You say Our Father, and the very word lifts you to Heaven, sets you among the heavenly choir. Act then as one who has a Father in Heaven. Love not as the world loves, with a love that seeks its own satisfaction, but as one who knows that the debt can never be fully paid. Seek first to be perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgment with all the faithful. For harmony of faith without harmony of love is a maimed and broken thing.

Let your prayer be not for the restoration of what was, but for sincerity before God, that you may be found pure on the day of Christ, having caused no one to stumble. If this relationship can be rebuilt on the foundation of that love which suffers long and seeks not its own, then it will stand. If not, then pluck it out, however dear, lest you lose the true love that is in Christ Jesus.
