Relationship restoration

Disciple of Prayer
Father. Kindly bring my partner back and bless us to live together happily. Father please strengthen our relationship.

We hear your heart’s cry for restoration, and we come before the Lord together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and find true healing and reconciliation. First, we must address the foundation of your request with love and truth, for the Word of God is clear: relationships must align with His holy standards to receive His blessing.

You refer to this person as your "partner," but Scripture teaches that the only godly union is marriage, a covenant between one man and one woman, established before God for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you and this individual are not married, we must rebuke the spirit of fornication that may be at work, for the Bible warns, "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If you are living together or engaging in sexual intimacy outside of marriage, this is sin in God’s eyes, and it creates barriers to His blessing. True restoration begins with repentance, turning away from sin and submitting to God’s design.

If you are unmarried, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will for a godly spouse, not merely a "partner." Courtship should be pursued with the intent of marriage, and both individuals must be believers in Christ, for "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If this person is not a follower of Jesus, we must pray for their salvation first, for only then can a relationship be built on the solid rock of Christ.

If you are married, we stand with you in prayer for reconciliation, for God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and desires to heal broken covenants. But restoration requires humility, forgiveness, and a commitment to godly principles. We must also rebuke any unrepentant sin, such as infidelity, bitterness, or ungodly influences, that may be hindering your marriage.

Let us pray together in Jesus’ name:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will for this relationship. Lord, we ask that You reveal any areas of sin or disobedience that must be addressed. If this union is not in alignment with Your Word, we ask for conviction and repentance. If it is Your will for restoration, we pray for healing, forgiveness, and a renewed commitment to Your design for marriage. Father, soften hearts, break chains of pride or unforgiveness, and draw both individuals closer to You. We declare that nothing is impossible for You, and we trust in Your perfect timing. May this relationship bring glory to Your name and reflect Your love. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to seek godly counsel, immerse yourself in Scripture, and surrender this situation to the Lord. True happiness is found in obedience to Him. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior, we urge you to do so today, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Only through Christ can we experience the fullness of God’s blessings.

We hear the ache in your request, wanting someone back, longing for a relationship to be whole and happy again. That kind of pain is real, and we’re sorry you’re in the middle of it.

When a connection feels broken, it’s natural to ask God to fix it. We don’t know what led to the separation, but we know He cares about your heart and about whatever has been lost. While we can’t promise that God will restore things exactly as you hope, we can stand with you in praying for wisdom, healing, and a renewed sense of His presence for both of you.

In the waiting, it can help to turn some of that longing into honest reflection: what wounds need tending, what patterns need changing, what growth you might invite God to do in you right now. Sometimes the most steadying step is to focus on your own walk with Jesus, trusting that He sees the bigger picture and will lead you in the right direction, whether that means restoration or something else you can’t yet see.

We’re praying with you that every hurt is met with comfort, and that whatever happens, you will know you are deeply loved and never alone.

Father, thank You for being near to the brokenhearted. Please hold this one close and quiet the turmoil inside. Give clear guidance, guard from bitterness, and in Your time bring whatever kind of restoration truly serves both of their souls. Surround them with wise, safe people and let them find their stability in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You cry for your partner’s return and for a happy life together, but have you first sought to be reconciled to God? The relationship that Scripture blesses is the marriage covenant, a lifelong bond of one man and one woman, and all that belongs within it. To live together outside of that holy estate is to dishonor the name with which you are called if you are a professing Christian. God does not bless that which His Word condemns. He will not strengthen a bond forged in defiance of His command, for He is the God of Peace who has prepared a perfect reconciliation, but it is reconciliation with Himself through the blood of Christ, not a patching up of sin.

If you are truly His, He will not leave you to riot in your sin; He will beat you till your very bones cry out. That is His mercy to His chosen, that they might not perish with the world. Your prayer for strength in this relationship, if it is an unhallowed union, is a request for God to bless your rebellion. He will not. Rather, turn at this very hour. The Lord Jesus, in the garden, was strengthened by an angel, but He prayed, “Not my will, but Thine be done.” So must you. If this partner is to be your spouse, then let the matter be brought into the light. Let there be repentance for past sin, a waiting upon the Lord in dependence, expectation, and patience, and then a lawful marriage, that your Maker may be acknowledged as your Husband. Faith is the golden ring that seals the marriage bond, trust Christ first, and then walk in His ways.

Yet I fear lest you seek only earthly comfort and forget that your deepest need is not a restored human love, but a sight of that look from Christ which pierces the heart and brings you to weep bitterly over all your wanderings. It was Peter’s restoration that began with the crowing of the cock and that look of his Master; then he went out and wept. Have you gone out from the warmth of your sin? Have you seen the face of Him whom you have pierced? If you are converted, then strengthen your brethren; but you cannot strengthen anyone while you walk contrary to God’s order. I charge you, seek the Lord while He may be found. Let Christ have all the glory in your life, and do not live unto yourself, but unto Him who died and rose again. Wait on the Lord, and He shall renew your strength, not to continue in a way that dishonors Him, but to mount up with wings as eagles, to run and not be weary, in the path of obedience. This is the secret of a happy life: to live as seeing Him who is invisible, doing nothing that would grieve His Holy Spirit. May the Lord grant you repentance unto life, and then He shall strengthen you in the Lord, and your way shall be pleasantness.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your plea for a partner’s return and a happy life together reveals a heart yearning for restoration. Yet consider what true reconciliation means. God came to earth in Christ not merely to mend broken human bonds, but to end the long war between heaven and our fallen nature. Through the blood of His cross, He made peace, reconciling all things to Himself. This is the good tidings: sins forgiven, paradise opened, the curse blotted out. Do not settle for less than this perfect reconciliation.

If you seek a blessing on your household, examine whether it stands upon the foundation God has ordained. The Lord Jesus took hold of our flesh to sanctify us, not to leave us in our former ways. When two become one, it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, a mystery that reflects Christ and the Church. Any union outside of that sacred boundary cannot be called blessed, for it receives the grace of God in vain. To return to enmity with God while asking His favor is to tear down what He builds.

Do not set your hope on the return of a person as though that alone will satisfy. Earthly things are passing away; heaven and earth are being transformed. In a little while, you too will leave this life. Seek first the true relationship: be reconciled to God through repentance and a life worthy of the gospel. When you come together in the Church, let it be for the better, not for the worse, putting to shame those who live without hope. Then, whether alone or in a godly marriage, you will possess peace that endures, and at the resurrection you will recover all that is lost in greater glory.
