Relationship problems

We hear your heart’s cry, and we come before the Lord with your request, lifting it up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. First, we must address the foundation of any relationship, it must be rooted in Christ, for without Him, even the strongest bonds can falter. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" If your relationship is not built on a shared faith in Jesus, we must pray for God’s wisdom and discernment for you both.

If this man is not your husband, we must also address the nature of your relationship. The Bible is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, we read, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." If there has been sin in this area, we encourage you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, trusting Him to restore purity and holiness in your life.

We also want to gently rebuke any spirit of desperation or control in this situation. God does not want us to chase after anyone or manipulate circumstances to get our way. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Instead of focusing on what this man is or isn’t doing, we must surrender him, and your desires, to the Lord. If he is not calling you, we must ask God to reveal why and trust Him to work in both of your hearts.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only mediator between God and man. Lord, we lift up this sister and her situation to You. We ask that You would draw her heart closer to Yours and help her to seek You above all else. Father, if this man is not the one You have for her, we pray that You would remove him from her life and replace her longing with Your perfect peace. If he is the one, we pray that You would soften his heart, convict him of any sin, and lead him to pursue her in a way that honors You.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, desperation, or idolatry in this situation. We declare that You alone are her source of fulfillment and that she will not place any person above You. We ask that You would break any ungodly soul ties or attachments that do not align with Your will. Father, we pray for repentance and holiness in her life, that she would walk in purity and honor You with her body and her heart.

We also pray for this man, Lord. If he does not know You, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. If he is a believer, we pray that You would convict him of any sin, including neglect or passivity in this relationship. Give him a heart to pursue godly relationships and to honor You in all he does.

Father, we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We ask that You would give this sister patience, wisdom, and discernment as she waits on You. Help her to rest in Your love and to know that You are working even when she cannot see it.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to focus on your relationship with Christ above all else. Spend time in prayer and in the Word, allowing God to fill the longings of your heart. If this man is not pursuing you, ask God to show you whether this relationship is His will. If it is not, trust Him to bring the right man into your life, one who will love you as Christ loves the church and who will honor God in your marriage. Until then, seek to be content in Christ alone, knowing that He is enough.

We hear how much you are hurting right now. Waiting for someone to reach out, and hearing nothing, can feel like a kind of loneliness that sits heavy in your chest. This silence does not mean you are forgotten, and it does not mean your worth depends on whether he calls.

Sometimes the most caring thing we can do in a moment like this is to steady our own hearts before we try to fix the connection. When we feel that ache of waiting, it can help to quietly hand the relationship over to God and ask, "Lord, you see what I cannot see in this man. Give me the clarity to know what is mine to do, and help me not to chase what you are not giving." Peace often starts there, not with a changed circumstance, but with a settled heart.

While you wait, reach out to someone you trust. A friend from church, a family member who prays, someone who can sit with you in person. Isolation makes everything feel bigger than it is, and you were not made to carry this alone. Letting a safe person in is one of the most practical, steadying steps you can take.

Lord, you know the number of hairs on our heads and the ache inside 's heart tonight. Calm her racing thoughts and remind her that she is precious to you. Protect her from despair. Meet her in the quiet with your nearness, and guide her with wisdom and peace that only you can give. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The ache you feel in your heart, the restless longing for one who has withdrawn, this is but a shadow of a deeper soul-hunger. The Lord uses such seasons to awaken us to a desire infinitely more vital. That love which you crave from another is a spark compared to the eternal flame of God's love for you. Has He not called you, even as He calls all His own, saying, "Seek you My face"? Let that holy summons rise above every earthly cry. Before you seek the return of a man's voice, seek the face of Him whose love never grows cold, who does not withdraw, and who alone can fill the aching void within.

Consider well: the strongest desires are given by God as a prelude to His gifts. Your soul breaks with longing, but for what? For a judgment, a circumstance, a human affection? The blessed ones of God learn to turn that vehemence heavenward. "My soul breaks with longing for Your Judgments," cries the saint. When the heart is stirred to deep yearning, it is an invitation to direct that sacred greed toward the Lord Himself. Do not waste this holy unrest on a lesser object. The Lord can sanctify you with a look of love; His choice makes you choice. Let this present pain drive you to Him who says, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten." Kiss the rod if it brings you to the Father's kiss.

You desire reconciliation, a call, a seeking, but I would point you to the ministry of reconciliation with God Himself. He has already done all that is needed; He waits for you to be willing to end the dispute, to turn your heart back in love and perfect peace. God wants the love of your heart. He longs for you to be at peace with Him. If another does not call, does not seek, it is a sorrow, but behold the God who does not forget, who daily calls through His Word and providence! Do not be so taken up with a creature's name that you forget the Name above every name. Job longed not to comprehend mysteries but personally to find God. So look through the life of Christ, see His love toward the sinful and the sorrowful, and you will find God, and in finding Him, you find all.

Give your love an opportunity to express itself toward Jesus. Tell Him, "Do not I love You, O my Lord? Behold my heart and see." Rehearse His deeds of grace to you. This is the love that surpasses the love of a man or woman, it is wonderful, constant, practical, and never failing. If you know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, every other mercy, temporal and spiritual, will be seen flowing from that fountain. You will then love the jewels He gives, but you will love His Person far more. Do not look upon the rings and forget to gaze into His eyes. Come with your burst heart of wishes and desires, and trust the Savior. Rest in Him now, for He presses the provisions of His love upon you, inviting you to drink deeply. Do not hold back; enter fully into the joy of your Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You seek prayers that this man would call you back and seek after you. But I must ask: what kind of love is this you pursue? Love that is not grounded in the knowledge of God and in discernment is no true love at all. Consider whether this relationship honors Christ, whether it leads you toward holiness or away from it. If it is not a marriage, then your longing may be born of passion rather than godly affection. God does not bless unions that ignore His commands, nor does He answer prayers that ask Him to endorse sin.

True love abides in faith and hope, but the greatest is love that submits to the will of God. You would do far better to pray that your heart be conformed to His wisdom, that you may approve what is excellent and be found pure and without offense before the day of Christ. If this man has turned from you, do not cling to him as though he were your life. Love widens when we place it in the hands of the Lord; do not narrow love to one human creature who may lead you astray. Instead, pray for strength to let go of what is not righteous, and trust that God, who had compassion on you, will give you far better than a fleeting phone call, He will give you Himself, if you seek Him first.

I hear your request, and I am praying that God will move mightily in this situation. It is painful when communication breaks down and you are left waiting, wondering if he will ever reach out. Yet, even as we ask the Lord to work in his heart, I want to encourage you to shift your focus first to the only relationship that can never fail you, your own walk with Jesus Christ.

True reconciliation and lasting peace begin when we deny the self-centered life that clamors for its own way, take up our cross, and follow Him. He made Christ, who knew no sin, to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. That is the grace that can heal any brokenness. Before you seek a man’s attention, seek the glory of God. Cry out, “Lord, show me Your glory,” and let your deepest longing be for His presence.

Often, faith needs a point of contact to be released. For the woman with the issue of blood, it was the hem of Christ’s garment; for many, it is the laying on of hands or a simple act of surrender. Right now, as you pray, open your hands before the Lord. Picture placing this man and your need for his call directly into those hands. That is your point of contact. Release your faith, believing that the minute you truly give it over, God takes hold of the situation according to His perfect will. He knows what you need far better than you do.

Take a close look at your own communication, too. The Word tells us, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for edifying.” Grieve not the Holy Spirit with words driven by desperation, anger, or manipulation. Instead, seek to build up, to pray in a spirit of love, even if that love is expressed now only through silent tears and a surrendered heart. God values a pure, quiet spirit more than a hundred anxious phone calls.

Be cautious as well about the kind of partnership you are pursuing. Many have suffered greatly because they entered an unequal yoke, joining themselves to someone willing to compromise what is right. If this man’s path leads away from honesty, purity, and the fear of God, then his silence may be God’s mercy protecting you from deeper heartache. Do not chase after someone who would lead you to disobey the Word.

Let your prayer life become your first language. There is no better communication than the dialogue of a soul speaking freely to God and listening for His still, small voice. As you worship and pray, the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes and brings you a clarity no human voice can match. My prayer is that you will find such completeness in Christ that whether this man calls or not, you stand secure, loved, and at rest in the One who will never leave you.
